it's not working for me. I have only installed maxframes config, custom hud and a hitsound.
it's not working for me. I have only installed maxframes config, custom hud and a hitsound.
did you extract open up the oldschool pack 13b folder and put the oldschool pack folder in there in your custom folder?
Everytime I try to launch the game while having the new oldschool pack files in my custom folder the game crashes instantly, and I have no idea why.
new bugs in this pack: -sniper first person animations are all buggered up -pan still isn't the proper position
fixed and fixed (i dont know how long the fix for the sniper arms will work, it was really cheap since i couldnt find the actual problem) [sp]i dont know why tf2 would crash, only thing i can think of is conflicting mods[/sp]
with or without this pack, are sniper's view model arms invisible when using any of the bows for anyone else?
with or without this pack, are sniper's view model arms invisible when using any of the bows for anyone else?
i thought i just fixed that
I put Oldschool Pack 13b folder to tf/custom. it didn't work. then I made it vpk. still didn't work.
I put Oldschool Pack 13b folder to tf/custom. it didn't work. then I made it vpk. still didn't work.
there is a folder called oldschool pack inside the 13d folder, thats the one that goes into custom
I know how to install it. The thing is when I open the game it stucks on loading screen and when I go to task manager it says "not responding".
I know how to install it. The thing is when I open the game it stucks on loading screen and when I go to task manager it says "not responding".
if that isnt the problem, then i ahve no idea what is cause its working fine on my end, and i havent heard any issues from anyone else but you. ..unless your being impatient cause the folder takes longer to load... now that i think about it, starting the game or, any time i join a server with or without the pack installed tf2 goes not responding untill the sending client info phase. which for me, takes upwards of 30 seconds to a solid minute and a half
I finally got the oldschool mod working, all I had to do was remove my autoexec since it had something screwed up in it. Too bad my other mod doesn't work at the same time now, but I don't really care about that as long as my game runs at a reasonable level. [editline] 3rd July 2014 [/editline] Ah I forgot, I also removed tons of stuff from my launch options.
I am also getting stuck on booting up with the mod installed. The game doesn't proceed to the title screen no matter how long I let it sit. [editline]2nd July 2014[/editline] Here is a short list of things I have tried: 1. Removing autoexec.cfg, as per the above fix 2. Removing my installed HUD as this mod changes a couple HUD elements and I figured they might conflict 3. Removing the rest of my mods so that this one is the only one installed 4. Making the mod into a vpk, which I did not expect would work (it didn't) so I'm basically out of ideas
Dont know why but putting in -autoconfig in the launch options will cause tf2 to work properly. Without this the game refuses to load and gets stuck on the intro menu. Heck, been trying multiple methods to get this to work; 1. removing my autoexec 2. verifying game cache/disabling steam cloud 3. removing all other custom stuff from the custom folder 4. vpk'ing it 5. deleting the tf folder 6. reinstalling tf2 completely Ive been following this project for a while now, really helped pre-steam pipe. Tf2 became enjoyable with the fps i was getting. Steampipe killed some of the fps but my toaster has no choice but to get some fps out of this pack. Since the love and war update everything has been broke. I cannot play it on default dx8 visuals, Ive just gotten too used to the visuals of the pack. Quite the heartbreaker to be honest. I'll keep waiting for an update on this. Thanks for your dedication and time on this pack, insane, I know i cant show it through text but im sending a big heartfelt hug to you.

If I add dxlevel 90+ to the launch options, the game starts without problems. -autoconfig enables dx9 by default I think, so that may be the reason I'm getting the same result as you. This problem does not occur if I try with an older release of this pack (and I mean really old), but those old versions have a lot of bugs. Thanks for all you work in this pack, Insaneicide, and sorry about my english.
If i may,i need to quote Chris Griffin, and say OOHWHAAAAT? that makes no sense at all, but if it works i cant understand what the difference is between this version and the prior, what i did with this version was a update the player models with the new attachments, updated the c_arms to the new bones ystem, plus attachment update, i updated the vanilla weapons that were changed over to the c_model system, and re-did the bones that were in the medic weapons and shortstop, it only working in dx9 just baffles me.
Thanks for all you work in this pack, Insaneicide, and sorry about my english.
thank you for your support, and whats wrong with your english?

Spent a good half an hour downloading the mod with no idea why it wouldn't work. Was wondering if it was recent or if it'd always been like that, hopefully you can find a fix fairly soon. Also just a few minor things I noticed, one of the demo's weapons seems to have a missing texture (I think it was either Loose Cannon or Scottish Resistance, if I remember it was the weapon's sight.) Plus the Loch n Load's reload animation is incorrect, when I was using it before it was doing the scout's pistol reload every time it loaded a pipe.
Looks like I have to change maxframes to dx9frames. Anyway, thank you all for support.

If someone can confirm if this problem occurs only with dx8 or have any other suggestions, I would love to hear them. Thanks.

Phlogistinator's particles have been messed up in this pack for a while now. They're not heading the correct way. Is this going to be fixed soon?
I think the dx8 startup problems are caused by line.vmt and line.vtf (tf\custom\oldschool_pack\materials\particle\pixelparticle) Delete them and tf2 should run normally

Can't download it help?
guys.. how do I to install this? please help me T_T..
You put it in your custom folder directory. "Team Fortress 2/tf/custom" If it is in VPK format, just place it inside the custom folder. If it is NOT in VPK format, you need to make another directory inside the custom folder: "Team Fortress 2/tf/custom/my_custom_stuff"
New tf2 update broke textures. Appears valve renamed most of them or moved them. EDIT: nevermind

I sent an email to the TF team asking for lower graphics and whatnot, then discovered this mod and then found out that because of Steampipe and sv_pure (obviously) the mod doesn't increase fps or work in competitive servers. So I sent another in linking them this mod. Valve like to embrace community generated content so hopefully the TF team will read it. http://pastebin.com/9Mvbjkis I suggest that the actual Gods behind this mod contact Valve/the TF team to see if you can get these models/textures in the game as a graphics option, you'd probably have one hell of a chance of making it in.
did you stop working on pack?
Good pack... *Minecraft joke goes here*
