So is there an SVN or where do we download all this? My little brother is learning tf2 and holy shit is this laptop awful. Right now the stock is fine, he has no items and there's bots but I'm just wondering where the general way of downloading for this is.
not at the moment, i gotta do a bunch of bugfixing, (the watches spaz out on the draw and holster animations, and there are a couple of bugs that need fixing with the buildables)
and as a general progress report at the moment snowshoe is not going to be able texture anything utill after this weekend, so untill i fix the remaining bugs, and stuff of that sort, a release is not going to happen, and pretty much all previous releases in the last thread are out of date (player models buildables, and things of that sort)
but after i fix all the bugs, a release will follow soon after
Great job; it looks exactly like his original face only, y'know, lower poly
well, good i hope so, i decompiled the default flexes (now for the boring part, and why i dislike and really hate doing them) imported them one by one (restartng for each frame) into ms3d, moved the verts accordingly, to be the best match for the frame given, then exported them into smd's and then imported them into max, frame by frame, then compiled the vta, and modified some code, and viola, 8-10 hours of continuous repetitive work, of which very little is seen, but is much appreciated, and we got very good looking lowpoly flexes
[sp]7:09 PM - H.Gaspar (asleep): is it rigging as painfull as making flexes?
7:09 PM - Insaneicide {NEED VTA HELP}: no, making flexes is EXTREMELY more painfull compared to rigging
7:10 PM - Insaneicide {NEED VTA HELP}: the difference is like sitting on the couch ver
7:10 PM - Insaneicide {NEED VTA HELP}: sus being tied up and being flogged
7:10 PM - Insaneicide {NEED VTA HELP}: raped, and disembowled while being forced to be awake during the whole ordeal [/sp]

Note to self: latest version of vtf plugin for gimp is terrible
Glad to see this making progress.
I prefer the looks of this pack than vanilla TF2, even on max settings.
I really like this project, but I have 3 questions.
1. Can you please make it compatible with this knife reanimation? I think it is 9001% better than the default
2. Will this pack be compatible with custom lightwarps? Like hitmanx's beta lightwarp and stuff?
3. Can you fix this pack for 70 fov?( If it isn't already ) This guy fixed it but I want it for this pack when it is released.
Normally I would request backpack icons as well, but I can probably make backpack icons and hud aspects after the release.
Keep going! I can't wait for the release!

more or less, but that is the old outdated player model to viewmodel hands, i can work on it but i cant make any garuentees, gamezombie is supposed to be making them compatable with his c_animations mod, so chances are if he can do that he can get it to work, but as for this next release, i definately have enough on my plate as is.
oh, and as a thingie, the buildables all changed with the recent update, so i gotta fix those to work, all the new bones have been added, its just a matter of getting the screens to work offline again, and find out why they dont work in servers

1) I have all the files, since Insaneicide is busy on bug fixing I can see what I can do.
2) Yes, lightwarps will work. Don't know how much of a difference it will be on low poly models, though.
3) I can't do this myself, it's up to Insaneicide if he wants to make 70 fov fixes.
I don't think we will be seeing backpack icons unless the VPK update negates the performance cost of having those, and then we would have to finish the pack first.

All it took was a simple file swap with the custom animations. We won't even have to release anything new, just copy the anims mdl file from GintokiSakata's fix and rename it to v_knife.mdl
I don't have a video but it looks exactly what was posted above, but with the new arms.

That's not going to work in-game (it would look like it was prior to my fix) you need to decompile you'r new knife model and include a ref animation to the model (doesn't matter what it is it won't appear in-game).

I see. Insaneicide told me to try switching the anims, so I did that before poking around in the QC file. It looked fine in the model viewer but apparently not.
Anyway, I added the ref sequence, and it does work for sure now.
How do you uninstall this? I just want to give a try for a bit and see how it goes, I don't plan on using this permanently.

Delete your tf2 folder, probably
How do you uninstall this? I just want to give a try for a bit and see how it goes, I don't plan on using this permanently.
I would move your tf folder to a safe spot, start the game to make a new tf folder. And just install the pack. If you don't like it just delete the tf folder and move the original back.
So I'm kinda new to this thread, but when is all this shit going to be added to the main pack (un) officially?
So I'm kinda new to this thread, but when is all this shit going to be added to the main pack (un) officially?
well, itll be official, but a possible release "date" will either be this weekend, or sometime next week

I meant I can do them myself, I made a bunch before. Thanks for the information.

I keep two folders in my tf folder, one called highpoly_backup and lowpoly_backup. When I want to use my default TF2 and all my normal skins, I ctrl+x ctrl+v the low poly tf2 "models" and "materials" into the lowpoly_backup folder, and ctrl+x ctrl+v the normal "models" and "materials."

looking at the lense, I feel like your phongboost might be too strong?

Not nearly as apparent in-game, unless you're super close to a light and look at it a certain angle.
