Powerhouse really is one of my favourite maps in years, probably in my top 3 overall. It's just so much fun imo.

and 40fps
Imo, 1. Borneo 2. Snowplow 3. Suijin 4. Powerhouse Borneo's really good. Honestly it's pretty hard to fuck up single-stage payload. It's inherently fun. Snowplow is a pretty solid AD map. It's a bit flat, but not too much so. ofc the hud system is pointless, but that doesn't detract from it too much. Suijin can be really fun, but has some pretty glaring flaws. Obviously there's the sniper sightlines, which force you to squeeze off to the side when capping the point, and lead to a lot of sudden, frustrating deaths. It also has spawncamping problems that are sort of inherent to KOTH. I'd say the only KOTH that really manages to avoid this is Lakeside, because of the map's size. It's nowhere near as bad as something like Nucleus, but it can be annoying. Maybe I just haven't played enough of it, but Powerhouse seems kind of lackluster at the moment. Visually it's great, but holy shit the stalemates. Pretty sure it's the only map in the game where the timer can go up to 40 fucking minutes. Mid's pretty fun to fight at, but last is really weirdly laid-out. There's a huge room that's mostly empty and unused, with one of the main paths in going right next to the enemy spawn. Half the attacking team ends up walking straight to their deaths, while half the defending team is lead away from the area they're trying to defend. Not to mention the cramped areas of the map.
They should at least do something about the sniper stuff on that map. Hang up a sign in the middle of that map or something so it's not infinite sniper warfare.

I just dislike Borneo and Snowplow for pub play because of their horrible engineer problem. Last Point Borneo doesn't seem that bad from a competetive standpoint because there's generally only one engineer. In pubs that can be up to 7 engineers, and that becomes a nightmare to take down. That's why it's further down my list, but otherwise it's still a good map.
I really don't like Powerhouse when I'm doing class contracts, can end up being too stalematey when I just want to fulfill my contract and any bonus points from capping repeatedly. It's an okay map but it's not my cup of tea, even when not doing contracts.
The only time I've seen powerhouse truly stalemate is when both teams are really bad. It hangs on the last point for a long time sometimes, but the lines are still moving around, it's not really a stalemate.
At the very least none of the new maps are genuinely bad. Yea there are some balance issues but they aren't anything that doesn't exist on some other maps. 7 engies tends to be a pain in the ass to deal with on several maps.

Powerhouse is a pretty map. And that's really kinda it
It's funny how they're going through all this to fix a minor bug with major consequences, while literally adjusting a single entity in the map fixes all the current and future issues.
A bit late, but due to the way source works, you'd need to recompile the entire map to do so, as well as release the map. Each TF2 map is ~60mb, multipl by 8 assuming this happens on all of them, and you got a ~475mb update just for bugfixes.
I gifted my brother the gun mettle ticket finally (takes a fucking week to trade it to him) He gave me the case he got and I...decided to unbox it since he wanted me to. I basically traded $8.50 for 50 cents. :(
-snip-
If I chose to buy someone a tour of duty ticket, I wouldn't be able to trade it right away, would I? What would be the best route to take?
If I chose to buy someone a tour of duty ticket, I wouldn't be able to trade it right away, would I? What would be the best route to take?
Try trading for it. If you buy it from the market you'll have a one week cooldown before you can even trade it.
I wish you could gift Mann co purchases like steam games.
Is there a good replacement for the Spy player icon in the bottom left near your health? Apparently it's still the beta spy and I'd like the more modern one.
I remember seeing a few updated icons for the all the classes in Gamebanana. That also reminds how the Spy still has the beta viewmodel arms and gibs.
Powerhouse doesn't seem to be stalematey to me at all. Usually the fight is all over the place, not just stuck on the mid. But the last points seems to need dedicated team push in order to be taken over which is something that seems to be done right considering the game it's in. :v: Suijin is a FPS eater and a sniper nest which makes it ultimately not fun. Snowplow is fun, maybe a bit corridor-ish but that's okay. And Borneo... I don't fucking know because I haven't played it at all because everyone always votes for Powerhouse to be the next map. Fuck the variety, I guess.

Anyone knows specific time when are the contracts supposed to refresh?

Suijin's sightline across the middle isn't even the worst offender regarding Snipers - you can always take the side routes, especially the one with the calligraphy rooms/smaller waterfall. There's a spot on the lower part of the big bridge that allows you to snipe into the enemy spawn. I've killed people that just respawned and got shot by me when someone else opened the main spawn room doors, and it's happened to me as well. Granted, that spot ain't the safest place for a Sniper, but it's ridiculous to get shot inside the spawn from across the map when someone else opens the spawn doors. Next, there's several places where a Sniper can hide in the foliage and shoot away at people, completely hidden from sight. One such spot is a treetop below the side temple's roof (the one on the island above the cliffs) - you can jump on it and remain hidden inside the foliage - I can't think of another official map where you can hide in tree tops and still have a great sightline to shoot people across. And then there's the roofs of the calligraphy buildings, where you can also hide in a corner of the roof near the waterfall, hidden in a dark corner and masked by foliage. Finally, I really dislike how the fences of the little bridges around the middle pagoda block movement and make it difficult to jump/navigate the outside area with the shallow ponds. Also, the tiny inclines leading from these bridges to the CP are just tall enough to require crouch-jumping over them if you approach them from the sides (such as when circling around the building to flank the other team on the point) - this slows you down and in combination with the fences it blocks and slows down movement around the point a lot. Admittedly, I've played it quite a bit and it does have the potential to become a popular dumb TDM map where thousands of shitty/wannabe Snipes ply their trade, but it's really poorly balanced and has some glaring issues that I haven't seen in any other official map. It's also a great display of just how brainless and stubbornly predictable a lot of the playerbase is - 80% of them on Valve servers keep charging straight down the middle, dying over and over and coming back to the exact same spots. Most of the Snipers just set up shop outside their spawn instead of trying to circle around on the rooftops to the left or right where you can often get even better picks and aren't that vulnerable. Then they get slaughtered over and over by Spies and other few people that actually use the side routes.

oh man fan o'war is so much better now, i just need critical kills part for it

Also this update isn't old enough to see little kids running around with others' australiums, he's just bullshitting. Also they wouldn't have it for long since they're actually not pro and would die quickly.
