how come nobody ever even tries to go for airshots
Brain is hard wired to shoot at ground below the enemies feet. Brain has a collapse when there's no ground to shoot. When I rollout with the DH that's a whole different story
how come nobody ever even tries to go for airshots
Why bother when it's so much easier just to shoot where they're going to land?
how come nobody ever even tries to go for airshots
I'm hard-wired to think I'm still playing heavy so I don't trail nearly as much. "YOU WANT ROCKET? TOO BAD! YOU GET BULLET!
Why bother when it's so much easier just to shoot where they're going to land?
because you can kill them now instead of later and if you leave it for later, they can kill you
Get reload/firing speed first. Max damage is utterly unnecessary for taking out uber-meds and you're better off getting the stickies set up quickly. Honestly it's perfectly viable to just get firing and reload speed on the sticky launcher and then just use/upgrade your pipe launcher, though this might be less viable now that the LnL lost it's damage increase.
Usually I only upgrade the sticky launcher, it saves money and I can use the booties on primary, because with an upgraded sticky launcher you'll basically never need a grenade launcher.
Usually I only upgrade the sticky launcher, it saves money and I can use the booties on primary, because with an upgraded sticky launcher you'll basically never need a grenade launcher.
They're both viable methods but either way you should be getting reload and firing speed before damage upgrades.
how come nobody ever even tries to go for airshots
When I play on pubs I always see Soldiers waiting for the person to hit the ground before firing again. Come on people just go for the airshot you're not gonna learn to do it if you don't go for it.

IF you want to score an airshot, you need to be able to think fast, be calm & be able to calculate the distance between you & the target; predict in what direction will your rocket head (if Beggar's bazooka); Predict how much time will the rocket have to travel to the position; Predict in WHICH direction will the air-target head - Basically, you need some math-knowledge. You need all of this for a single airshot.
Winger's not even touched at all. Just wonderful.
Winger's not even touched at all. Just wonderful.
It's pretty good already man, that extra jump height does wonders
I constantly try for airshots, practice with tr_rocket_shooting2 and tr_walkway_rc2 all the time, and the only airshots I can get consistently (with stock) are where I launch someone already on the ground with a rocket
DON'T : Play Sniper, Spy, or Pyro. Pubs hate that because meta. Play any class that you already have on the team. Use default medigun. Use liberty launcher. Use any loadout on Scout other than fan + milk + scattergun/soda popper. Play Demoknight. Have any fun at all in general. DO : ???
You can run them you just have to know when to run them and you have to actually be able to use them effectively, the meta is just the easiest most noob friendly way. Also Demoknight fucking sucks in mvm, he is a class built around picking lone distracted enemies and is counteed by groups, robots stay in groups , all you'll end up doing is spamming grenades and at that point you should just be using stickies since they are better than spamming grenades

Please.

The thing I'm saying is that you are not gonna be better at the game if you don't take risks once in a while. I mean I can airshot people with a rocket launcher just fine and I'm not even that good at the game. Is pretty much muscle memory. Once you get used to the rocket's travel time you can do anything really.

Isn't GL shoot and reload faster than RL? (not counting Beggar's infinite clip and Air Strike's airborne bonus firing speed obviously)
If you've got someone going demoknight, you definitely need somebody else to compensate by going stickies or sniper.
atleast pipes do more damage than rockets and now that damage spread is off, it's a perfect round 100
outrageous nonsense. the only drawback of pipeman is not being efficient vs ubers. in most cases, he's a better soldier
Oh so I guess that's why I'm better at landing pipes than sticky bomb explosions. Maining Soldier and all that jazz.
5cp
What game modes do you wish more servers would run?
Prophunt and Fortwars.
Stop that Tank and 5cp.
Stop that Tank and 5cp.
Ok, on topic of Stop That Tank, they're getting close to release to have others put it on other community servers, but with the recent Gun Mettle update they're having to rejigger how the giants function, and other various things. So do expect STT to be on other community servers soon (valve time).
Nah we need more class vs class
The hunted. [sp]And 5cp.[/sp]
Alright, since I can't find the FP TF2 Mann Upping thread, I'll ask here. Is anyone interested for some Mann Up? Most I can offer is one ticket, since I got 2, and I have one partner already willing to participate.
I'd be willing to play a bit, I haven't used my Xmas TOD Ticket yet, do you plan on using Mumble or something like that?
Nope, but a Mic would be a good idea in general. Usually we discuss what each one does before we start and then stick to it. Most of the time it works, though success chances increase when there's at least 1 dude with a microphone and willing to use it. In other words, we mostly use chat, and that's when wave intermission is taking place.
