Is there any way to reduce particle effects significantly that works in sv_pure 1? I don't like lagging on Valve servers just because thousands of particle effects occur every second
mat_reduceparticles 1 http://www.teamfortress.tv/25647/no-explosion-smoke-script
apparently my config already uses that I guess my computer is just too shitty
I really hope valve fixes the alpha channels on the australium weps, some of them look v gross because of it but I don't know if it's because I got a graphic setting that might've fucked it I've got the mod that fixes the channels but it only works on nonpure servers and I play on valve servers quite a bit zz where's that guy who emails fixes to the dev team or w/e
Walkway bots are being pushed by a very thin invisible wall. They might look like they're walking, but their hitbox is as if they're still standing perfectly still. I remember there was a map for aiming practice which had bots actually moving instead of being pushed by an unseen force. Don't remember the name though.
It's more of a invisible treadmill. but yeah it has absolutely nothing to do with how real-time player movement behaves. Walkway headshots and backstabs are outside of this world. It's also bad for airshots, real people will always use air control to slightly deviate.
Metaru managed to land every single shot as the worst stat soldier, but we died because a grenade activated a second pod and overrun us with perfect acurracy and US Navy headshots. And Omolong is still MVP on my eyes. Sorteando (raffling) my Sniper Set, rate lovely optimism (rainbows) because I AM UNABLE TO BEAT MONTH ONE AND HAD TO RESTART. And it's cheating if I use a bugged mechanic? It's triggered if I overwatch a flanked enemy, but sometimes Overwatch > firing when I have a good flank, but not a good % of hitting, it's hard to not abuse it. It's patched on EW but I'm running vanilla because I'm a compulsive buyer
I want to believe
Status update: X-COM failed 5 times in a row, the sectoids are infused with rng aura and we are blessed with bugs. Now I will do a real official (tm) valid run. If I lose, expect another raffle. If I win, expect a raffle?. Protip: Call your soldiers Metaru and Omolong, they ignore the chances and lands hits everyday. And thanks, this was a good experience to have, it was good to give stuff and people eager to see how everyone was down on the first mission.
I tried playing sniper. I can't even bodyshot a revved up heavy with the piss rifle. I give up on playing sniper.
Took me my entire TF2 career to get good at Sniper. But goddamn it feels good to have done it.
I have a tendency to not add randoms but this time I felt some remorse after declining a guy who complimented my hat.
Took me my entire TF2 career to get good at Sniper. But goddamn it feels good to have done it.
Kudos to you. I've never been good at Sniper or Scout and haven't had the patience to ever learn them. That's the beauty of TF2 though; don't like a class or 2? There's 7 others and any sort of subclass you can make out of them to play with!
What about Spy?
The big stopper for me was playing sniper and knowing how often there were 2 other wasted slots on your team also occupying sniper. It's worth the payoff, though. You just have to accept that whether you win or lose while you're learning is completely out of your control. Same with learning spy.

Other than my hat being painted and opposite misc style on the pants, we both had a minimal wear Lighting Rod shotgun, strange pistol, and a jag.
I tried playing sniper. I can't even bodyshot a revved up heavy with the piss rifle. I give up on playing sniper.
some advice that made me a lot better is to make sure you dont have mouse acceleration cause some mouses leave it on and it'll fuck your aim completely and to less aim at their head; more aim where you expect them to be.
I tried playing sniper. I can't even bodyshot a revved up heavy with the piss rifle. If the enemy is a light class and you have time or the target has low health just bodyshot them. HOWEVER, remember that headshots are the most efficient.
Anyone got a link to that cool song from Team Fortress Classic (or maybe it was Brotherhood of Arms)?
Anyone got a link to that cool song from Team Fortress Classic (or maybe it was Brotherhood of Arms)?
TFC never had songs. Maybe you thought about CS1.6 menu one?
if you have trouble aiming watch this video
Get a keyboard so loud nobody can hear you talking?
I... I lost, Yiffy Fox and OSDP managed to be the last and most awesome soldiers ever, both managed to hit the impossible and JasperDx17 got the worst aim ever. Yiffy and ODSP add me for a random hat. Now, rate this dumb for the last raffle I'll do. Godspeed X-COM, you cheating motherfuc- EDIT: IT'S OVER just like my X-COM run.
Get a keyboard so loud nobody can hear you talking?
It's a requirement if you want to be a pro Euro player
thats not how you add more dakka to your playstyle
It's a requirement if you want to be a pro Euro player
and mechanical keyboards usually perform better

My (only) tips are you is to not twitch when you shoot. Usually, you would want to be smooth and gradual with your aim movements when scoped. If you see a revved up Heavy, just gradually move slowly onto the target and fire. No need for quick movements with your aim to kill him. It'll take time, of course. Start on slow targets like Heavys and Demos. Then move up to faster targets. Don't worry about Headshots, just try to hit them. Eventually, you'll have to move up onto the heads. At this point, try and focus putting the laser dot on their head and fire. Use your crosshair to guide where to aim before you scope in. Also, I learned a tip from the great Jerma: think of Guitar Hero. You wait for the notes to come and on the right time, press the button and strum. To him, trying to get a headshot on someone is like that. Wait for the head to come into the dot and press fire at the right time. You'll get it over time, so don't give up.
Get a keyboard so loud nobody can hear you talking?
ur supposed to buy red switch, not blue switch
Don't make me hit someone with my Model M.

I cannot concentrate at all when people are shooting at me, or worse, have to keep turning around in case of spies. hours and hours of practice..completely useless when push comes to shove. i have no idea how other players can headshot with rockets and missiles flying at them all the time.
The only way to get better is to keep doing it over and over
I used to believe this. No longer. I now believe that no amount of practice will compensate for innately poor motor skills.
Let's be honest, even if the hitboxes on tr_walkway weren't fucked it would still not be very good for sniper practice since a bot moving in a straight line will never move anywhere near as erratically as your average pub.
Get a keyboard so loud nobody can hear you talking?
that's the best
My ping's always 100 lately, this isn't fun at all.
