I've seen people use ItemTest to showcase skins. Not sure if it 'equips' you with the skinned weapon (like it does cosmetics), or they were just showing it off in ItemTest as it's a small, quick loading map.
Might be worth a try at least.

they're pretty difficult to sell considering people will either buy parts themselves or expect major discount for ones already put on

Pretty hard unless it's desirable enough, for example, if that Sniper Rifle was a Minigun with exact same parts, I'll accept it.

* Hat drop rate has either been reduced (or removed completely) in the past several months. (Name tags and description tags still drop however)

I have a friend that has slapped a specialized kit on his Unusual Antlers and the sheen appears on it.
So, DDS would probably have no problem with the sheen and you will be able to see it.

Some of those guys are my buddies + buddies of my buddies , i threw together the team + some subs 2 days before the cup started and then they didn't invite me to any of the matches :ok: (i wasn't the leader because i had no idea how to sort all the server shit out)
Kinda glad though, they get really salty and toxic when they lose (yet refuse to play properly) + our group was full of gold league teams so they just got destroyed.

That was a very old bug from when it was first released. Now, it looks like a regular sticky bomb launcher with a chain.
You still get the glitch with the whole "attachment on any weapon", but that affects all weapons (I've had a diamond head from my rocket launcher hang off my Ambassador before for example).

I just realized, you can play medieval with a thirdperson mode by just typing a command, and before you ask "why are you playing medieval?" let's say people like to push the first option when a "select map" screen pops up.
Medieval mode isn't that bad, just dropped by Valve before it should have been.
Valve should not be dedicating map-making time to a gamemode specifically designed for shits and giggles that makes two classes far and away more powerful than any of the others, and removes class dynamics in nearly every other way.
I said gg prematurely before an mge match ended because I thought I had reached the 20th frag, but it was actually the 19th frag when I looked
now i feel like a generic scout main with a bad attitude :(
