I think a lot of people don't realize that MVM is full of people who just want to complete the tours/missions as fast as possible and anyone who refuses to cooperate or work together is just a waste of time That's why they leave quickly or are quick to votekick someone who refuses to listen, and because of that the newer players don't understand why the community is so "toxic" when they don't realize they're in the wrong
two snipers decimate everything though everybody is in the wrong
I wish more people would use sound sprays. I remember the hype I felt when I got mine to work and joined servers of people with their own... that was really cool.
The hell are sound sprays?
sprays with a little audio in them? I never managed to make one work
They're an audio file you can just play once in a while, like sprays. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1302576 No one can hear it unless they have cl_customsounds 1 which is like nobody Short version: .wav under 500kb and 44100Hz in tf folder "cl_customsounds 1" and "cl_soundfile lovelysoundspray.wav" in autoexec bind k "impulse 202"
two snipers decimate everything though everybody is in the wrong
If you're good, yes, but something tells me "jhonny_teh_epic_2001", with 0 tours and his Gibus, Mercenary and uncraftable Heatmaker named "bOoM h3adD sh0t" isn't going to decimate that much in MVM, whether he's paired with another Sniper or not. Obviously that's a generalization to paint all 0-tour players like that, but the point is that if you're new you should probably listen to people.
What's the best Pyro and Sniper Melee these days? I feel like the Axetinguisher is kinda lame now since the nerf and for sniper I have no idea really.
Powerjack and Bushwacka [editline]22nd February 2015[/editline] Or Stock for Sniper.

For Sniper, there's really no "best" melee, they all get the job done, but if you want to be a super pussy you could always go Jarate/Bushwacka.

I prefer the shiv because I like having my SMG

EDIT:
I prefer the shiv because I like having my SMG
Ninja'd, yeah I quite like the shiv. For the role of sniper, if you're caught face to face with most classes, you're pretty much a goner in my opinion ... may aswell inflict bleed before they take you down.
I prefer the shiv because I like having my SMG
I never really understood the idea behind Shiv. Like, it's a neat concept, but it barely does any more damage to be worth it.
If you hit a Spy and he cloaks to hide, you can still find him. It's nice in the regard that you can use it instead of Jarate so you can use something else in your secondary slot.

I'll try out the Shiv tomorrow and see how it goes.
Yeah I prefer it for the spy detection but also cause I'm pretty bad at melee. So I'd rather give em bleed since unfortunately, I assume there's a good chance I would lose the melee battle. In the end, doesn't the shiv cause more damage anyway? Kukri base damage: 65 Shiv base damage + bleed: 33 + 48 = 81 I'm not sure if that's how the calculations work but that's what I got anyway.
I killed a Heavy from full health with the shiv yesterday, while he was shooting at me with minigun. He died to bleeding after he managed to kill me. Shiv's pretty damn great.
Yesterday, I went on a Mannpower foundry server, as vampire widow-gunslinger engi with the personal goal of reaching a 100 streak. I played my best all along, constantly thinking of spies, never getting into danger, abusing grappling hook to survive the massive rushes of the enemy team on me. Hell, I even fought an apparent aimbot heavy with a shield by myself without dying. And finally: [t]http://i.imgur.com/TVgcPHe.jpg[/t] 97 streak. 97 STREAK. WHY IN THE HOLY HELL DID YOU CAP STUPID SCOUT I WAS SO CLOSE.
I killed a Heavy from full health with the shiv yesterday, while he was shooting at me with minigun. He died to bleeding after he managed to kill me. Shiv's pretty damn great.
I remember getting the Huntsman achievement Dead Reckoning while using the Shiv.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/HQRbgIt.png[/t] The vote passed and the last place player was kicked soon after. I had no idea people got that upset about it.
Seeing where this discussion is going and where it was to begin with made me realize I made the critical error and forgot to mention that this had taken place in a Valve server running Dustbowl at the time.
So I put my Nice Winter Crate Key up on the market a while ago because I was getting nothing but naughty and wanted to try and fob it off before it was too late. Didn't sell and the 16th passed so I figured well it's useless now It'll have just turned back into a key. Would have taken it down but it was still at the nice winter key price so I figured it would sit pretty until I got round to removing it or changing the price or whatever. So it rolls round to today and I check my listings and see someone has bought it which was odd because it was maybe 60% more expensive than keys are supposed to be. But to my surprise I check my history and for some reason it still claimed it was a Nice Key that someone bought today. Even though that was impossible and its crate can't be opened any more. So I guess either my steam is showing the wrong item or I accidently ripped someone off? Thats a thing that seems to have happened. Perhaps this is some kind of commonplace thing because there seemed to be other Nice keys also up for sale in the market so maybe there is a whole scam of ripping off people who don't know the Xmas crate expiration date is that I took part in.

Before VALVe made the spells untradeable, you would trade the spell over to an already launched and running TF2 account and apply it to your item of choice. Now, when you launch TF2, it does the purging/changing. Since listing things on the market removes it from your backpack, those items aren't affected by item purges or transformations - hence why the guy bought a nice key and not a normal one. In theory, he can do the same method as the spells by trading it via steam to an already running TF2 account and use it (if it's still useable or if he's somehow running a different Schema which allows the nice crates to be opened) or (and most likely) will just dump it into a collectors account and trade it next Christmas when the key will remain a Nice key.
I haven't played this in a long time and I was never an avid player to begin with, so I'm way late on this but: I just watched Expiration Date, and while it was enjoyable, did anyone else think the Soldier seemed not just strange, but outright autistic? I always preferred to think of him as an unhinged warmonger playing 'army man' as if it were a game. I preferred his role in End of the Line where he acted as the de-facto commander of each team, even though it's fan made.

Plus the biggest difference would be if he were done in his original light at most he'd rant at the bucket thinking it was one of Russia's secret spies or some shit.

TF2 doesn't develop the characters' personalities very often, so each of the classes are starting to fill a stereotypical role. He's becoming more and more "the stupid guy who shouts at stuff", and unless there's some big plot twist in the comics or something like that, I don't really think that'll change.

Many of the characters are still the characters they started as, except Soldier and maybe the Pyro (who was originally just mysterious and was turned into a full fledged psycho), otherwise Scout's still a boston big talker, Demo's still an alchoholic, Heavy's still a silent russian who loves his job, Engineer's still a brilliant texan, Medic's still a mad doctor, Sniper's still a silent professional, and Spy's still a suave, well, spy. On another topic, is it me or has the Pyro as a character actually gotten cover over time? Lately I've really wanted the Pyro pool party taunt, along with a lot of his cosmetics. There's just something about his caricature that is really cute and goofy and I love it.

After he slowly devolved to the comedic relief of the comic it seems that carried onto the SFMs. Since the only other comparable goof is pyro, and he can't communicate, i imagine they shoved it off to soldier to be the cataclyst of mistakes. Speaking of, imagine if they intended to develop big shorts for more major updates. Such as SpyvsEngi having a 15 minute short about their disagreements. That's be tight as hell, even if it's downright unlikely. Like, we know shorts take a long time, but meet the medic was developed in near 6 weeks, surely they could make another short with this year and a half of time they have to play with.
Is there a way to bind fastforward to a key so that it plays the demo really fast when you hold the button but returns to normal when you let go?
