I want to asume they gave the RS to pyro as an alternative to the widely popular flaregun back in the day. its funny when you think of it that way, because they tried to close a can of worms by putting the exact same can of worms right next to the original one.
Didn't he fire a different games team too when he realized he could
Yes. It was the Left 4 Dead team.
or they could just make it minicrit on explosive airborne like DH "but pyro cant-!" reflects, soldiers rocketjumping at you and you still get a nice mini faster switch
It'd be crappy for the Pyro then. I really think it should be split like previously mentioned, weapons shouldn't have to be balanced for more than one class (although I still think Heavy/Pyro should get the Widowmaker with their primary ammo replacing metal)

Sounds terrifying.
A shotgun that never needs to be reloaded for the Heavy? Sounds terrifying.
That's pretty much what the minigun is. The fact that he's so slow ensures that he can't really chase you down for kills like an Engineer can against slower classes. His endless ammo would only last as long as people keep running directly into his shots.
I don't get some people, he wasn't even banned nor was his main yet he spammed the living fuck out of my steam profile.
Really, all you can do is just turn commenting to "friends only". There's no reason for anybody not on your friends list to leave a comment. (I haven't done it yet so I'm not one to talk about its benefits but y'know, it's kinda annoying getting new notifications and all of them are phisher comments)

Phishers are runining that aspect, sadly. Or on rare occasions, friendly people saying hi or ordinary compliments.
I have comments public so I can check on genuine requests, downside it does get people like this spamming it.
so WLF relased new workshop-based stuff, including a Dispenser plushie that talks. I joined a random valve server to dick around as sniper, a teammate approached me and challenged me to see who could score higher lots of points and 30 minutes later i'm now main demo for their UGC team :v:

Do you actually play Demo or was it circumstance?
I just got Vintage Bill's Hat and I'm still wondering why did I want this in the first place.
What does "cl_interp 0.01" do? It was mentioned on an old TF2 video I was watching, he said it makes using projectiles and air-blasting easier but didn't go into detail beyond that.
What division? Do you actually play Demo or was it circumstance?
Nothing special, they didnt say div but probably steel-silver. Well, i play demo and dominated the person in question as a demo so i assume that's why they invited me. I wouldnt call him a main, though he's definitely a top 3 for me
What does "cl_interp 0.01" do? It was mentioned on an old TF2 video I was watching, he said it makes using projectiles and air-blasting easier but didn't go into detail beyond that.
Lowers the delay of projectiles leaving your weapon
Lowers the delay of projectiles leaving your weapon
Just the models of the projectile, to help with lag compenstion.
What's the format for adding it to the launch options? I tried just dropping it in as-is but it didn't work.
What's the format for adding it to the launch options? I tried just dropping it in as-is but it didn't work.
add it like this "(othercommands) +cl_interp 0.01 (othercommands)"
Wouldn't you just enter it in your console once and it'd be done?
Will autoexec.cfg do?
add it like this "(othercommands) +cl_interp 0.01 (othercommands)"
This works, thank you!
[t]http://i.imgur.com/5I0wZcL.png[/t] Welcome to Dustbowl I guess? I dunno.
Will autoexec.cfg do?
I think not. Join a server, play for a little and it will be 0.001. Change maps or server, it goes to 0.0123 or something like that, forcing you to go spectator and change it manually. Or maybe it's my bad luck
I joined a random valve server to dick around as sniper, a teammate approached me and challenged me to see who could score higher lots of points and 30 minutes later i'm now main demo for their UGC team :v:
I'd be careful with those teams. I got several invites from people too after playing on a pub/mge server and I always decided to take a look at them at least. In my experience they often have lots of problems getting a complete roster and they underestimate the effort you need. I mean, if you really want to join a team, look for the recruitments on etf2l oder the ugc website rather than agreeing to an invite you got on a valve server. These are just my experiences though, your case might be different.

I tend to take the game casually but it interested me in joining them since they have a fairly fleshed out roster already
What does "cl_interp 0.01" do? It was mentioned on an old TF2 video I was watching, he said it makes using projectiles and air-blasting easier but didn't go into detail beyond that.
Don't use 0.01, it causes packet loss on 99% of servers. You should be using a cl_interp value of 0.0152 along with cl_interp_ratio 1 (default if I recall) to minimize delay as much as possible without packet loss.
Lerp (Interpolation/cl_interp) is basically the time it takes for data to be sent/recieved to/from the server. Decreasing your lerp value can really help and will, for example, make projectiles fire out of your weapon quicker, decrease the delay between player models and their hitboxes. All weapons fire quicker from when you click the fire key so things just feel more responsive in general. It does, kind of, make hitboxes "smaller" when using hitscan weapons, but it's generally nothing you notice. A lot of people used to use different lerp values on different classes because of this, but since valve made it so you need to be in spectate or disconnected to change it I don't really think it's a thing anymore, and tbh I use 15.2 on all classes and changing to 33 only makes me miss more. This is not entirely accurate but more of a loose description on how it'll affect you. If you'd like to read up on interpolation and more net settings in source, valve has it all very well docummented. About the settings your friend gave you, they don't really seem that good because setting your lerp to 10 will cause packet loss. Generally you want your lerp to be as low as possible WITHOUT having it turn yellow on the net_graph 1 graph. Orange is good and white means you should be able to lower it more. (On some servers it'll show up white with 0 lerp but valve's default server net settings were set 10 years ago when people had shitty dialup internet connections and not enough server operators pay attention to their server's net settings.) I'd probably recommend these for people with at least a 1mb/s connection:
rate 100000 // servers limit this to 60000 by default, so setting this higher has no downside as it only allows you to take advantage if the server allows a higher setting cl_cmdrate 100 // there is literally no reason to set this to 66, servers will limit it to 66 by default but IF the server runs at a higher tickrate this'll allow you to take advantage of that cl_updaterate 100 // see above cl_interp 0.0152 cl_interp_ratio 1 cl_pred_optimize 2 cl_smooth 0 cl_smoothtime 0.01
And this if you have a worse connection:
rate 35000 cl_cmdrate 40 cl_updaterate 40 cl_interp 0.0152 cl_interp_ratio 1 cl_pred_optimize 2 cl_smooth 0 cl_smoothtime 0.01

In short: add +cl_interp 0.0152 to your launch options

Why are more than half the images on steam broken?
