I used this:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1312825
And I deleted everything in the fodler "tf>cache" and all replays. Looks like the stuttering is almost fixed now. Still getting stuttering but very rarely.
Does anyone know the custom HUD where the chat is in the top left corner?
Long shot for an answer but it was a pretty popular HUD.
Or can anyone name a HUD that minimizes the chat feed in anyway, that would be appreciated.
Heads up for a virus targeting Steam and other games such as League of Legends.
You must be a real fucking retard to download suspicious files but it's better to warn than to experience.
CryptoLocker is back and targeting gamers via a Wordpress based site.
It seems to encrypt game files (with a name like Cryptolocker, I'd be surprised if it didn't) and 'tampers' with them. Won't be long until the Phishing bots hook onto this and start redirecting to it if the initial hijacking doesn't go to plan, they'll just ruin your day anyway.

Flathud has the chat in the top left corner, also a generally nice hud

Flatline is a good hud like Derpish said, but my personal hud of choice is Rayshud that also happens to have the chat in the upper corner. I've been using it for almost 2 years now.
you could always just make it a private raffle on tf2r or scrap.tf then link it on FP
Well unfortunately neither of those sites has enough slots for the hats I want to raffle off. Also, I was thinking of having it be kind of like Rude's in the sense that the first few winners get more valuable stuff then as the list goes down it goes into normal craft hats and things.
I currently only have 20, should I try and get more hats?

Hit me up, I can give you extra slots
Making a private raffle seems pointless considering it will just get shared on reddit and 4chan anyways.

On both sites you can generate one-time use keys and only give them out to certain people.
Hey guys, I've played tf2 a bit after that Mannpower mode (or whatever its called) was implemented, but not much since.yesterday I played again and found that all of my maps/textures were brighter than I remembered. has anything changed in the last few updates to make that so? or is my computer finally dying?
I've been using the same run-of-the-mill fps autoexec for years now without editing it, besides that I haven't touched tf2 in any way
so i stopped caring about trading for the longest time
Today, after barely touching any game on steam for 2 weeks(besides dota and hotline miami) and playing mostly guildwars, I went to the market to sell earbuds to buy my brother the new mortal kombat.
Earbuds are $20.
What the fuck did I miss? I was going to buy him it(was tempted to buy the $80 edition since I know he'll play the fuck out of the game), but I'd have to spend 3-4 buds on it.
I'll probably still buy it for him, but I think I'll wait and hope buds go up. I'm just shocked at how fast tf2's market is crashing.
Anywho, have there been any major tf2 updates recently? Like, what was the last "big" update?
I miss tf2, but I just don't have a reason to play it. It's boring to just stomp every pub game I play.

Earbuds are lower in price because Keys keep on rising and people are trying to offload buds for keys quickly (monetary value is the same but the refined price is creeping towards 20 refined). They rarely rise in price.
Last content update which added new weapons was Smissmas (QuickieBomb Launcher etc). Last update to fix things was yesterday (~500mb patch).

i don't really feel like i have the motivation to play mann up... it might just be the lag i get on some of the servers but i blame the sniper aimbots. is their any definite way to counter them?

tell your scout to run up and shoot them

Yes, yes there is.
Look in the direction where the sniper(s) is and move from side to side in a controlled manner, preferably in combination with the w and s key to form a small circle. This makes the sniper unable to lock onto you properly and will make him unable to shoot.
Now you can either shoot him, while moving in the circle, with no risk of getting shot or start moving towards him by holding down W for a bit longer while you are doing the circle.
If done correctly you can move from the central building in coaltown all the way down to where the snipers spawn without them ever shooting, no matter the amount. Be warned that this can fail in certain situations but it works most of the time.
dont forget: eye contact is mandatory in order to keep them blushing and looking away.
the pyro on my ugc team got mad at me because she couldnt hit me with flares
like straight up yelled "i can't fucking hit you with my flares because you move so goddamn weird" :v:
so i promised to walk in a straight line every time we fight [sp]and she still missed[/sp]
i viciously mash my a and d key when i'm demoknighting
i tried mannpower for the first time after the 2 updates
its like mvm where you dont get upgrades and the robots are controlled by players
and can fly
the team specific crit powerup is worthless when the other dude has the thing that negeates all crits
you finally killed someone? lol no, scout nicks your powerup and runs into a sentry
destroyed the sentry and got the powerup? a scout flies at you and hits you once for 105, no more powerup, youre dead
its just which team's side has the better powerups wins
if they would've just implemented the powerups as action slot items instead of the grappling hook
or have it so you equip a powerup in the loadout screen to replace a secondary/primary weapon
and then have it indeed as a powerup, not a permanent upgrade

Demoknighting? Why is she using flares then? Flamethrower should be the primary weapon against demoknights, get up close, give them a flash of fire, airblast them to throw them away if they're using their melee, if they pull grenade launcher out, prepare for airblast spamming
If they're using targe well good fucking luck, idk just hope you get a melee crit

Because an easy 50-90 burst damage will always do more than about 3 damage per second?
If the Demo is using Targe and you don't have the default Shotgun or Reserve Shooter, you shouldn't even bother fighting him. Otherwise, Flare crits is the way to go.
You can rate my post disagree all you want, but after playing this game for 5 years it's almost factual that a Flare crit is going to do more than just holding M1 against somebody who specializes in melee fighting (which in itself is stupid).
A group of griefers were trying to teleport spies into our gravelpit spawn, so me and a pybro took it upon ourselves to spend the entire round spychecking his teleporter
they waited the whole game hoping we'd get bored, on map change they left the server
the whole time we sat there spychecking he'd pick up the tele and insult us

Strange festive buff banner has also dropped to 3 keys. Was 3.5 keys
People do know you CAN'T unbox this anymore?
Just because We now have a normal strange doesn't mean you have to take it out on the Limited festive one
And as for the wrangler.. Well,

any decent pyro with said 5 years of experience would be able to deal with a demoknight by easily driving him into the fire particles, outdamaging him and walking away unscratched. the only time a demoknight could kill you is by catching you by surprise or because you had to deal with other enemies firsts.
basically, the same strategy you would use agaisnt another pyro.

Or you could just airblast and then burst damage him with your secondary, taking off most of his health while staying out of his range.
Hell, if you wanna be a cool guy against another Pyro or Targe Demo, don't even airblast, if you're fast and accurate enough you'll still get the flare crit.
I feel like people underestimate proper acting as a Spy.
