I was wondering why I never saw anyone wearing it.
That requires me to use the Degreaser, which I refuse to use
Say what you want but default flamethrower is really good for ambushing and mopping up. It's good for getting into firefights while the enemy is distracted or has their back to you and just burning them to death.
Also good for killing cowards who won't stop trying to run away.
I always thought people asking this was cheesy, but here I am asking it myself. Does anyone here do or know anyone who does good SFM posters?
I really want one done for my avatar on Steam + turn it into a spray + General use.
I'm willing to pay, ofcourse.

Has anyone tried running TF2 from an SSD? I recently moved Guild Wars 2 onto mine and the difference from loading from a 7200RPM HDD to the SSD is staggeringly obvious and was wondering if moving TF2 from my HDD onto the SSD would have any benefit like loading up maps quicker or something.

Absolutely, SSDs make a huge difference in general.
I usually spend around 5-10 seconds on "retrieving server info".

Do you get those load times even when you first join a server in each TF2 session, or is it only for subsequent map or server changes?
Cause it's always the first connection to a server that takes quite a long time for me, subsequent changes of maps or servers have always been much faster.

When I first connect to a server or when it changes maps.
If I join a different server running the same map it's even faster.
Any advice about gaining the Full Head of Steam?
I desperately need it for my Pyro loadout:
Question:
Does anyone use any Pyro melee weapon that isn't the Powerjack (and potentially Homewrecker)? I haven't seen people use the Back Scratcher on a normal server in about 6 months and I often wonder if people have forgotten it exists.
I use axtinguisher, mostly because I want my strange to level up and it's extremely satisfying!

Get a friend and an empty server with cp_foundry. It shouldn't take you long to get enough achievements.

Or do what all the "cool" kids do nowadays and just SAM your ass to your hats! Only people who actually play TF2 and not those who treat it as day care, only they will hate you!
Oh neat; I needed an idea for the Mair Mask.
Since I gave you an idea just like that, for free, you could as well help me out on the hat, don't you think, uhmmm? Adding me and stuff

A team mate of mine from a 6v6 team I was in had an SSD with TF2 on it, he would connect to servers and change maps almost instantly. Maybe like, 5 seconds for server connection, and 3 or 4 seconds for map changes.
So yes, it does make a big difference.
So, I'm having a weird problem with TF2 and my configs.
Long story short, I got a new graphics card and PSU, installed them, and deleted my fps config to see what I could achieve. I don't get much better performance (which is weird, as my bottlenecks were my PSU and Graphics card, my other specs are actually pretty good, but I digress), but I figured I''d at least be able to boost the textures a little or turn on facial flexes.
However, this is happening:
before I un-installed my fps config/upgraded my gfx card:
[t]http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/544149264735451002/B80E36601D7D6045BB2319DA0D788C8064ACA4BE/[/t]

After I re-installed/upgraded:

There's a noticeable boost in graphic fidelity, which isn't great (I'm not getting 60 fps in large firefights and it's annoying).
Now that I think back, it might've happened when I installed the graphics card, as the same problem happened when I finally actually got a rig.
The worst part is I upgraded to an AMD Radeon R9 280x, and I'm still not getting good fps with max settings, even though around 4 months ago I got perfect fps with high settings with a Radeon R9 270, which is a lower tier graphics card.

If you want the fast route- use SAM (Steam Achievement Manager) as you'll be spending more time trying to get into a foundry game than it's worth.
What's that, exactly?
It does look a bit shady, at best. But I don't suppose I could get banned for this now, wouldn't I?
[editline]Today[/editline]
I decided not to use that. Accepting even a small risk for a hat isn't just worth it
Bah, Anyone know a fix for my TF2? It won't start up anymore.
Is it just me, or is playing Spy much harder than I thought?
I started playing spy after not playing him for like six months and honestly it's a lot easier than i remember. Just remember where the class you're disguised as should be looking and use disguise weapons and you'll fool most people. Most of the time i fake looking where my disguise should be and actually look at enemy players by looking at the corners of my screen.
also mix it up a lot, having a pattern is the worst thing you can do. I find just randomly mashing numbers in the disguise kit and acting for whatever random disguise comes up changes up my behavior a lot and keeps enemies from getting comfortable

I've used it off and on for the past 3 years for achievements in games which I know I've done, but they never popped.
It makes steam think the game is loaded/running and just 'unlocks' achievements you want. Perfectly safe. The only risk you'd have is if you were connected to a VAC protected server AND unlocking achievements at the same time. Other than that, it's pretty safe.
It's personal preference to use it or not. The last time I used it for a TF2 item was for the Black Rose but only because I'd rather not have a Rootkit installed onto my PC for 1 item.
Bah, Anyone know a fix for my TF2? It won't start up anymore.
I guess the go-to thing would be to verify game cache files. Other than that I'm not sure.
Not gonna lie, 10-man MVM bootcamp is pretty fun. Everyone goes sub-par loadouts just to have fun and kill robots, but is still a challenge due to complete lack of coordination.
On that note, I want to get in MVM boot camp so that by next Christmas when I get my third free ticket I can do a full tour and hopefully be good enough to do it on expert. What is the easiest map/mission to start out on and what is the easiest class to get into?

It's even better when it's set to a high difficulty and there's a plugin where once you spent a single upgrade point, like 5 to 10 more points get added on top. (Purchase all 5 at once for best effect, otherwise it locks you out)
You hit the point where Soldiers and Demos heal themselves by explosive jumping, everyone can jump 5 stories tall, and from my experience, Bison becomes a infinite ammo laser because the fire rate is through the roof ensuring a constant beam and the reload time is virtually non existent at all. Mangler on the other hand becomes an earrape framerate killer.
Demoknights with the +15 attack speed pretty much run around with their arms up unmoving
i dont recall bisons being that goon on mvm
i dont recall bisons being that goon on mvm
When the firerate of "Fire, Reload once, Fire, Reload once" is so fast that the projectiles are overlapping, it's a good sidearm when your launcher needs reloading. Keep in mind this is all when the usual +5 upgrades in the upgrade store are +15 or +20.
The only trouble is that you can't really use shotguns or scatterguns since the recoil becomes so bad that you keep shooting the sky.
Shortstop doesn't have that problem though, it happily rips through robots.
