I heard that bots can use unlocks, but they use them in the same way as stock. So a Pyro would use their flare gun when they think it's appropriate to use the shotgun, or a Spy uses the DR when he wants to go invisible.

They share AI with the MVM bots, so they know how to use some, just not super well. I.e. Demos will use any stickylauncher as a grenade launcher, even the ScoRes, and I *think* Pyros use the flaregun like a shotgun, but Demoknights can use their charges to a limited degree.
Also it's less that they share AI and more that they're literally the same thing.

Don't Demoknight bots just automatically right click whenever their charge is full, so it only ever does anything if a player happens to be right in front of them when their meter fills up? Same with Scout (and Heavy?) food items and the Sandman, they just auto-use them whenever they can.

soldiers only seem to predict if the rocket speed doesn't go beyond stock. LL or DH = always aim directly at target regardless of range
For some people MGE servers are places for serious practice or dickwaving, for me an my friend last night it was a place to spend an hour as caber/tide turner demos.
MGE dickwaving chatlogs are by far the funniest chatlogs though.

I've started to notice two trends on Valve servers:
- On an average, a Heavy/Soldier-Medic combo will own everything in sight. If your patient is quick on the draw and you'll look after your own health and spies, nothing will stand in your way
- Spies on Valve servers are as bad as they can get. And there is an average of FOUR per team

Don't forget half the enemy team turning into Pyros if you're the only competent spy on the server.

Probably but I don't know much about it since I usually played with random friends and, not to sound egotistical at all, everyone being mediocre but me.
I guess I need to get out of the friend circle and actually deal with playing with pubs in a highlander setting. These 8000 hours need a use.

I've played against a gold team with my old silver team, I ended up topping and dominating 5 people.
We still lost. I mean I understand why you'd think it's a large claim but each time it feels like it's my team holding back or I make a dumb decision because I didn't care at the time

Well I meant to add more to this earlier but I kinda fell asleep. Oops :v:
Anyway, if you're looking to get into the scene, now's a better time than ever to do it. You can check out most of the important resources at [url]http://playcomp.tf[/url] (or /r/truetf2 if you don't mind reddit) and browse around the UGC forums for people who are looking for teams/players for their teams (LFT/P). Generally I believe most people here could play Steel no sweat, but unfortunately there's a lot of shitty organizational skills in those divisions (I won at least 3 games by forfeit my first season, making us ineligible for playoffs, nice!). If you're really unsure, look for an Iron team or go and play some lobbies on TF2center.com if you're interested in just testing the format (but lobbies definitely aren't representations of the whole comp scene; a lot of stupid stuff happens there)

I would but the servers I find are empty when I want to play it.
I think randomizer probably makes the most use of them. I remember being surprised that arena_ravine was an official map.
I'm on the fence between wanting to try Highlander and not giving enough of a shit to commit that much time to it. I'd really rather avoid being that one dick that drops off the face of the earth and lets his team down, even if they are a bunch of strangers.
