Is there any service/website/charity thread or w/e out there that allows you to donate/get rid of uncraftable weapons that new players might find useful?
I'm superseding some uncraftable weapons from years ago with strange variants and feel kinda bad about deleting this stuff, plus most sites that take donations seem to only take clean stuff.
Go to a server and start shouting that you're giving away free weapons to new players and wait for someone to trade you. Other than that you could try scrap.tf's incinerator.
I change of computer, I can't trade for 7 days and suddenly I win 3 different raffles. Oh dear.

How are you able to rig so many raffles? Teach me your ways
What happens if you backstab someone with Your Eternal Reward and then they leave the server? I'd assume your disguise is switched to another player playing that class, but what if there was only one of that class?

You'll get a disguise of someone else as that class, whether they are or not playing the respective class.
If the person has left the server and you were disguised as a Heavy, Engineer, Pyro, or Soldier and no one else is playing the class, it makes your disguise painfully obvious because of the Shotgun disguise bug which apparently still hasn't been fixed.
And then people say what the point of moving TF2 to Source 2 would be...
I know that it would be a massive effort that could cause big issues by itself, but as long as we're stuck with the current engine pushed to its limits (sometimes well past) and the code is such a gargantuan mess of stuff added over 8 years, we're also stuck with persistent or recurring issues like these.
Any minor change in a patch can apparently break anything at random, and even stuff that gets supposedly fixed rears up its head again a few months later.
I want Source 2 just for the new SDK because our tools are stuck in 1999
So many people are saying that TF2 should be moved to Source 2 like it would instantly solve all problems with the game. I wouldn't be so optimistic, moving TF2 to a radically different engine version would probably create more problems than it would fix. Remember Half-Life 2 and the infamous May 2010 update? Remember Half-Life: Source? And those are relatively simple single player games. TF2 in its current state, like stated above, is a completely fucked up mess of a code and such thing as moving it to Source 2 would NOT fix that, it would just fuck it up even more.
That's just it - it is (or, rather, was) nice to hope that a future port to Source 2 would magically solve all the issues, or at least remedy some of them.
Knowing that we're not getting a port (or a TF successor any time soon) basically means that stuff like invisible players, cosmetics and bodyparts, players stuck in a taunt animation loop, servers/clients crashing from too many entities (engine limits), clients crashing between map changes, the Replay system being a broken unfunctional mess and inexplicably bad performance for many players on machines that should be able to run the game smoothly is gonna be with us for years and won't change for the better anytime soon.
And of course the obligatory cases of mandatory patches breaking seemingly totally unrelated things, sometimes for months and coming back half a year later after a 'fix'.
At least they seem to have fixed the most rampant crashes and instability issues that plagued the game in the 2011-2012 period (that was TERRIBLE for me and many others, I really have a bit of a grudge against Valve for that awful time of the game being an unplayable mess for months at a time), but it's really disappointing still.

Most of the issues you listed are not related to engine, those are clearly problems with the code of the game itself (big difference) that Valve are just not bothering to fix.
Where did you hear how they are not planning to port TF2 over to Source 2 "any time soon". My friend is being super optimistic that the Engineer/Spy update will also bring out the port onto Source 2 due to all the months of waiting :v:

During the prominent-competitive-TF2-people visit to Valve, they asked about Source 2 and while they said it is on the table, probably not any time soon.
VOD will be up soon if you missed it. Some of the main points from the cast...
- Valve wants to implement matchmaking in order to gather data for weapon balance and serve as an "end-game" for players to aspire to beyond pubbing.
- Format and team size are up in the air still, though Valve's interested in eventually having multiple queues. They're weighing convenience/speed of matchmaking vs TF2's population size. Will likely be different from existing competitive formats especially with regards to class/weapon limitations, so people used to current 6s and HL should keep an open mind.
- Ladder will likely be based on a rating of one's general TF2 skill, rather than a per class ranking.
- Source 2 port of TF2 is not happening any time soon since they don't see an immediate need for it.
- ETA is Valve-time. :P They do have a matchmaking system working internally and have been working on it at least since the fall of last year.
- The current TF2 team has some new blood, comprises ~4-8 people, and shares an office with CSGO devs. They'll remain in contact with the competitive scene moving forward and are already working on requested bug fixes and features like more customizable crosshair support, HUD changes, fixing demo functionality, etc. They're also willing to send merch to tournaments in the future.
Going after the information we got in this website, we can refund hats/stuff we bought from the Mann Co. Store if we don't like em.
Neat I guess.
If I'm correct, maps subscribed from Workshop will be downloaded straight to your hard drive, I guess?
They will, but it doesn't seem to be working right now
I expect at least another hotfix before friday to deal with any issues that arise from the map, workshop implementation.
They added a Workshop options on a map browser, it's a small but cute feature.
Well, "small", but big enough to break the browser and to make it unable to find any servers now.
No point porting it unless it would fix the performance issues.
Last time I checked Source 2 version of Dota 2 was performing worse than the main version. Has it been improved since then?
So, with the announcement of Fallout 4, do you guys think we're going to get some new promos?
