It's to prevent stalling/idling. Lots of deathrun maps impose some sort of instakill that goes from red spawn to end of map so players are forced to move forward. As shown, they'll usually have fun with it.

Most if not all Deathrun maps should do that, I even threw one on my map because the DR server I play on has frequent stallers
