Try the Lime green.
The limit is only a hardcoded safe guard to prevent overflow so nothing broke. Yes, they went crazy and probably didn't see this coming but the fix probably just involved raising the model cache limit.
Either way this dynamic model loading they implemented was most likely made to solve this problem. They could probably add a 1,000 hats now and it won't make much difference in performance. So that most likely means more promos... and hats.
At least they did bother to create the dynamic system. But when there are more hats in the cache than detail props in the level itself, something is horribly wrong. I can see quite a few maps with their model counts outnumbered by the number of hats in the game.
don't companies ask valve for promotion, and not the other way round?
i don't think valve would say "no fuck off we don't want you stuff ingame", comes off as rather dickish

animu scout incoming
What mostly makes me rage is just the fact that those items and stuff just add more and more to the overall size TF2 occupies on my HD. Soon, it's going to take over 10 GB, seriously.
Who cares about promos? They don't make the game unbearable, or atleast for me they don't.

It's already over 10 GB, and nearing 11 GB.
How bout you upload some REAL fucking content Valve. Screw you and your goddamn unfitting promos. Most of which don't have anything at fucking all to do with the game.

Just wait a month. That STS stuff has to come out sometime!
I sometimes wear my hair like this, now I can truly roleplay the scout.
Oh boy! I can't wait to waste £30.00 on a game that i'm never going to play just to get a purley cosmetic item for a differant game that i'm going to wear for 3 days tops and then sell for metal wich I will use to make ANOTHER cosmetic item that may not even be the one I even want, because just buying the hat in the ingame store for more or less £5.00 is for faggots! :D
But in all seriousness, I think these promos are actually kinda sweet looking. Plus, hey they'll be craftable like 3 weeks after the promo anyways, so not too much harm done I guess (also that wolf-shirt referance is hilarious).
Plus the scout gets a freaking SWORD! That is aweso--

Nevermind. TF2 is ruined forever.

Well who would have thought...

Would it have really been so hard for them to atleast re use the eyelander sound?

I already did this myself. Sounds better actually.
He even gets the hair too. Hahaha
Greetings Usaokay. What game is your avatar from?
Why would they give the sword separate stats? That would make everyone completely butthurt. Everyone that didn't buy the Witcher 2 anyway.

Rift and Shogun items say "Hi"
Wait, these items can be crafted later? Oh. Nevermind. Yeah, the new sword should have stats.
Oh well, I was going to buy the Witcher 2 anyway. That game looks freaking AMAZING and I love WRPGs. I hope if they release Skyrim on Steam, they have an all class Viking hat and add dragonslaying swords and stuff.
this is the first promo that i actually dislike
i mean what the hell?a sword and white hair for the scout?
Valve releases a giant update including a full-fledged replay system and loads of bug fixes.
Soon after, they release a new promo.
The previous update is forgotten completely to make room for countless posts of whining children.

partly because the promo is the worst of them all, and partly because it caused servers to crash when they were released.
partly because the promo is the worst of them all, and partly because it caused servers to crash when they were released.
All servers have to restart when the game gets updated anyway.
As in, the items caused crashes whenever equipped for some period of time after their release.
There was a point... I think after the RIFT weapons, I had raged myself dry. I no longer give half a shit about promos. They'll never fucking stop.
So, if you can't beat em, stop whining about them. I just don't care anymore.
There is 3 ways:
1. Uninstall TF2 (or at least delete some files so you can't launch it)
2. Stop playing TF2 and go play something different like a Tetris...
3. Deal with it

Shouldn't have to :colbert: I paid good money for a visually pleasing, simple, team based game. I now have what is essentially a MMOFPS. With more items than game levels, more hats than weapons, and over half the weapons are fairly uninspired ("lol u can doo 5% moar dmg, but no crits XDXD" on about 6 weapons? please).

in 2 weeks you'll never see the promo again. I havent seen the MNC, worms or any other promo hat in a long time. All this complaining about how ugly they are, in two weeks the only time you'll see them is in arguements about artstyle, not in-game.
A majority of people actually want to look good in-game. Much of the people that intentionally look bad only do so ironically and are relatively few. That leaves a majority of people that wouldn't even think of wearing the items which would actually wear the crappy stuff. When's the last time you saw someone wear the Dapper Topper?
And which weapons are you referring to?
I know people don't like it but I bet they will be valuable. As a collector I wouldn't mind to have those items.
