Thanks for reminding me (again :v:). Did a little bit more work on it, not 100% happy with it yet though. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/106232967014182513/05B532CDA34E0CC5548F72E6C6248C22961F4F3A/[/t] (Oops glow-in-the-dark teeth)
That's starting to come along nicely! Can't wait to see it have a fully coloured texture and see it in-game, should be good! :cat:
Snood, I just have to ask you about this. What happened to that Razor train remodel you were working on in the V2 thread? You livestreamed it on Twitch and showed some pictures as well. Did you forget about about it or did you give up on it? I'm just really curious since I'm still interested in it.
Oh, I thought that was so the people who made the inevitable CSGO zombie mod wouldn't have to port HL2 models over [del]glad it turns out Valve added it to do something with it but never bothered which resulted in it getting removed so we're back at square 1[/del] so it was for thirdparty mods? [del]Then why is it gone?[/del] [t]http://i.imgur.com/TIKUWcF.png[/t] It's there for me.
Whoops fuck i was looking at the version that odddoc gave us back in V2 my bad :badzing:
Her'es my texture for those walls. It's kind of accurate.
Mixed yours and mine to make an accurate accurate thing I guess I also have this image of the city test but without gasmask

Welp, this might be why the Uncorrected Proof had so much more content...
Welp, this might be why the Uncorrected Proof had so much more content... -img snip-
That's what an 'Uncorrected Proof' copy of a book is, it's before proofreading and editing.
Asked Gabe Newell about TF2: Brotherhood of Arms, this is definitely a long shot, but maybe let's upvote? https://www.reddit.com/r/The_Gaben/comments/5olhj4/comment/dck7ktp
That's what an 'Uncorrected Proof' copy of a book is, it's before proofreading and editing.
Unfortunately, this could mean that the "Submarine game" that me and everyone at vcc has been brooding about might not be real. I meant to ask Gabe during the AMA, but I was too late.
Unfortunately, this could mean that the "Submarine game" that me and everyone at vcc has been brooding about might not be real. I meant to ask Gabe during the AMA, but I was too late.
It's possible, but I don't know who would make up something like that.
It's possible, but I don't know who would make up something like that.
Well, considering what WAS made-up in the uncorrected proof.... Either way, I truly hope that the sub game was legit.
Well, considering what WAS made-up in the uncorrected proof....
Like what?
Like what
To be fair, I don't know, but chances are a lot. That's kind of why I posted that pic of me talking with Marc Laidlaw. He says that version was pretty much "random anecdotes with no fact checking". Ergo, chances are at least a good portion of the exclusive content from the Uncorrected Proof is false. EDIT: I KNOW IT'S DUMB JUST HUMOR ME.
Either way, I truly hope that the sub game was legit.
Valve's submarine game has been known for years. It was a project idea Gabe and Mike Harrington first toyed with long before Marc became involved with the company. Gabe personally re-double-super confirmed it again in 2011 in the (now very dead) Steamcast podcast (full transcript here). The portions cut from Raising the Bar were due to space. Valve considered the sections dedicated to the Half-Life expansions, the ports, Day of Defeat, Gunman, and the rest of the community modding efforts to be "boring".

I honestly had no idea that that had happened. I also apologize for being waaaaayyyy too late...

The only thing it made uncorrected proof special at least in my opinion is game screenshots, scripts, and concept art.
in 2011 in the (now very dead) Steamcast podcast (full transcript here).
'Scuse me for being off-topic, but as a wise man once said, reports of Steamcast's death are greatly exaggerated - we finally got back together and recorded two episodes last year (we like to think we're the only ones who actually noticed). The idea is to do several of these episodes every year for when there's something interesting to discuss; rather than do one every other week, burn out, and disappear from the Internet for another three years. We'll probably be recording another one (possibly two) in a few weeks. Due to some unpleasant copyright issues, we also ended up going through a name change after going off the air, to "Steamchat" - this is the new site with all of the episodes we've ever done, which Flamov will be updating with most of the missing content from the old one.
hell even some page in that book took images from the the watch/control tower from Airex and saying it's citadel concept art.
Because someone at Valve probably told them it was the Citadel. They were most likely handed concepts with additional information on what they were, and it was only picked up as wrong after proof-reading and editing. Marc Laidlaw wasn't sure if it was a concept for the Airex tower or the Citadel either.

I think pretty surely the concept art is the Airex tower. ... or maybe it was ported. Copy-paste of brushwork.

Copy-paste of brushwork.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's an Airex concept too. Who knows if anyone at Valve could remember what it was supposed to be, they didn't correct it in retail RTB, they just took out the caption describing it as the Citadel.

If memory serves, the pages of the HL1 GOTY CD manual had background images from the early level design development process of the game (assumedly - references to things such as 'down to 'psycho surgery''). Has anyone seen them/posted them? If not, I could try to track down a PDF or something similar, I lost mine long ago.
Not my finest work but I hope this this works for you, for now.

Anyone know where I can get the CS:GO beta download? I know I can just google it, but it looks like some clickbait videos or shady websites with viruses.
