Interesting how there's a depth of field effect. I don't think it's even available on the PC version of orangebox engine.

Got any more from that era? this is fucking awesome btw
Game devs don't know how guns work - The Movie.
And by the looks of it, he's playing with a controller.
I could have sworn that was a video about L4D2 without the video description. L4D2 gun FOV looks equally retarded, how come they didn't do this experiment earlier, but the results look the same?
Well I'm guessing they used SFM to make that video, from the looks of it.
there's that gross cutoff at the beginning of each audio clip, so i'd assume so

I've been re-working on the vortigaunt charple texture sheet because it's an ugly mother fucker. Here's what I come up with.
This series of videos covers the wildly popular session organized by Softimage with the gracious support of ATI and Valve at GDC 2004. This session explores the entire character creation and build process, from choreography and character layout using the dedicated Valve Source Engine tools, to the deployment of the resulting character in a sample environment. Instruction includes modeling, texturing, enveloping, animation, and the all important export pipeline. Hosted by John Morello (DoD animator/designer, Valve) and Michael Isner (Softimage Special Projects).
https://valvearchive.btr.pm/archive/Game Media Archive/Half-Life 2/Videos/Softimage XSI Tutorial/PART1.wmv (04.03.2004 10:28)
Antlion "Old" Thumbnail

00:39-02:38
[T]http://i.imgur.com/4jXfAcX.png[/T] Closeup [T]http://i.imgur.com/hBzueU4.png[/T]
Alyx "Scenes" Sources

06:46-07:03
[T]http://i.imgur.com/JLAO8th.png[/T] Closeup [T]http://i.imgur.com/ckuhzuu.png[/T]
Antlion 2003 "Scenes" Sources

14:02-14:03, 14:15-14:32, 14:37-14:41
[T]http://i.imgur.com/Pnqfncy.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/fOe5fZ5.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/veFcdn8.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/vCSzr9T.png[/T] Closeup [T]http://i.imgur.com/pZPVx88.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/EgZMAAP.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/OxoTFE4.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/p7bFCq4.png[/T]
Directories

14:54-14:56
[T]http://i.imgur.com/kyU4Tm6.png[/T] Closeup [T]http://i.imgur.com/HpNvfIb.png[/T]
Antlion 2003 "XSN Presets" Sources (02-25-2003)

14:57-17:08
[T]http://i.imgur.com/z3jvLqH.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/tSVYKwk.png[/T] Closeup [T]http://i.imgur.com/AIU9i5e.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/MkW7DTb.png[/T] https://valvearchive.btr.pm/archive/Game%20Media%20Archive/Half-Life%202/Videos/Softimage%20XSI%20Tutorial/PART2.wmv (04.03.04 10:33)
Last directories

03:22
[T]http://i.imgur.com/xooSvZl.png[/T] Closeup [T]http://i.imgur.com/mbT7P6N.png[/T]
Mossman "XSN Presets" Sources

03:22-03:25
[T]http://i.imgur.com/IJkuN59.png[/T] Closeup [T]http://i.imgur.com/AHsB2ww.png[/T]
Mossman QC Eyes

08:51-09:22
[T]http://i.imgur.com/VtgJtl4.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/3QDhkeJ.png[/T] Closeup [T]http://i.imgur.com/TgtiRkH.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/xZgVQbk.png[/T]

Do any old textures for early HL2 exist in Masquerade: Bloodlines? They shared the same engine/development cycle, so there might have been stuff that was put in there accidentally, from like the Americana/World Traveling/Jacob's Ladder thing they were doing, and since Bloodlines branch is reputably bad and incomplete, maybe there's scraps of code there or something. Sorry for being stupid, I'm trying not to shitpost, and I'm an idiot with no skills so I can't do anything.

It's kind of a pain to dig through the game, as all of the assets use a proprietary format different from what Valve was using at the time.

I wanted to avoid slapping a Combine poster or a masked citizen on it, so this is what I got.

Since stuff relating to HL2 beta have been searched for ages now, I am guessing these are known? These are from Sin Episodes: Emergence. Most of the textures have SE1_ prefix on them, some are without it.
We want those
Here are the metalcombine textures: metalcombine001m: metalcombine001o: metalcombine001n: I have no doubt that these textures are modified by Ritual themselves, rather than cut textures from retail HL2.
How can you be so sure, Has Ritual modified retail textures before while using the valve naming scheme? Turtlerock avoided it in Counter Strike Source, it wouldn't surprise me if Ritual did it under the same reasons.
I have no doubt that these textures are modified by Ritual themselves, rather than cut textures from retail HL2.
While the metalcombine textures may be in that state, I feel like it is at least worth considering that the other textures are unreleased alternative variations of ones seen in the retail/leak. In particular, metalwall068b and metalwall068c. I also made a chart of them, comparing between the default retail/leak ones and SIN: Episode's variations.
