I'd just like to remind everyone that one of the quickest ways to get more dumb ratings is to call attention to previously existing dumb ratings.
Yeah, I totally didn't intend for that to happen! Facepunch bamboozled me again!
:stop:
For those who missed it, ValveTime released a screenshot of the Depot circa 2002. Depot from 2002: Depot from Leak: Source: https://twitter.com/ValveTime/status/854121190222442496
So this is original stuff or remake from WC mappack?
So this is original stuff or remake from WC mappack?
They are saying that it's an actual screenshot of the compiled map, taken in 2002.

Notice how the original doesnt have a 3D Sky (clouds) neither ansio nor aa. while the new one does. a bit of grass too.
What happened to the window textures in the leak version? Also, is this something new (in the public eye) ValveTime received or just another one sitting around in an obsolete website for who knows how long that is just recently rediscovered?

would really love to see that window texture remade if it wasn't already (i don't look here much so pardon me if i'm late)
Did a new Flare Gun icon based on the view model this time, rather than the icon. [T]http://i.imgur.com/tJbTD3m.png[/T]
So, you guy's remember the MIRV V_Model that was found about a month ago? I have some reason to believe that this model is either faked, in the sense that someone did their own model, or is just a version of the v_model that was changed due to polygon optimization. [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/164885247220121600/303216294684262400/fakeornot.png[/t] [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/164885247220121600/303218661940789248/abcdmirv.png[/t] Within the model's sequences, there are six animations, which would seem odd in the way of how grenades would have worked inside TF2. Within Trailer 2, it was shown that grenades would have worked like how they did in TFC: Press and hold the button to prime the grenade, and release the button to throw it; Doesn't it seem odd that there'd be 4 extra animations to go along with that? I would also extremely doubt it could have been a Secondary weapon, due to the fact that it only has one bone within the model itself, which off the top of my head is bound to the left weaponbone. The way grenades worked as well is that they would have used the system that the Spy's Invisible Watch does, in the sense that another viewmodel is used, rather than all v_models containing the grenades. [sp]Also please ignore any weird grammar issues within the first image, I made that image really fast and didn't feel like redoing anything; Also I got the model from ficool2 himself, but I am in no way accusing him of faking the model.[/sp]
I did not find this model or anything, I downloaded this model years ago on a fourm thinking it was a mod you could use ingame. (I was really dumb back then). That's all I remember. But yeah I think it is a fake model.

But i do know response. Options: 1. Fake. FAke, FAKe, FAKKKKKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! 2. Screenshot has been placed on true build 2002. 3. Anonymous fancy insider from West Bellevue. 4. Taken from portfolio of former employees Valve, Sierra, Havas, Vivendi, Rogue, Gearbox, EA, Troika, Arkane, Ritual. 5. Leaker from inside Valve employees or licentiate of Valve Intellectual Property (Technology).
Jokes aside.. I brought this question up before in the Valve Cut Content Discord: Suppose we go with the drained ocean floor design of the wasteland, from the beta "story". In this case, how would there be an ocean (Hyper/Borealis) to seperate the arctic regions from the mainland? Feel free to call me a lunatic if this seems too convuluted :U

And the sea the Borealis is located at is the remnants of the ocean (Arctic Sea?) or something to that effect. I do wonder though what Valve had in mind to plausibly explain this, if they did think that far in 2002. It is possible they already had the idea for Gordon to escape the Depot using the teleporter there like in the final game, but it was going to take Gordon to the Borealis, rather than Kleiner's Lab.

What you mean. You have a central space diva de-synchronization. Please stand buy. Holy Molly, such a level you're telling me. Have you read the bookuwiki before? You understand that after January-March 2002, сame to a decision to abandon the concept "Air Exchange". same "Depot" missing main key of the plot, which has become part level of scenery "Prison", "Concentration Camp", "Gulag", "Nova Prospekt". Release stay background.

And "Release stay background"? What are you saying?
What are you saying?
No one ever knows.
It is a mystery.
No one ever knows.
I know, but at this point i've just given up on decyphering the stuff since his writing has become more erratic and it takes too much time to put everything down into coherent sentences. [editline]18th April 2017[/editline]
Can someone please tell me what the hell is being said here? I think it will be 50 years before scientists decipher what you just said. What are you saying?
So If I got all that right "Holy Molly such a level you're telling me" he's probably reacting to your idea on the ocean levels and thoughts on Depot, he then refers you over to the overwiki articles of the initial storyline, depot and air exchange, and says "You understand that after January-March 2002, Valve made the decision to abandon the AirEx and Depot concepts, with Depot becoming part of the Prison, Conc. Camp, Gulag and finally Nova Prospekt levels and design" as for "Release stay background" I'm uncertain on that, he could probably mean that it's staying either as a background piece, or that everything from it is part of the background on the levels. No idea about the spacetime warpzone stuff he initially said tho, probably some sort of reaction, maybe literally translating some saying from russian to english.

Making it a Combine Research Facility, researching the planet Earth, that would disguise itself with an artificial ecossystem, mimicking the extreme Arctic conditions and creating a huge icebed around it, stranding the Hyperborea in it. Call ME a lunatic, but it solves many Beta problems and loose ends, all at once.

The ocean's are pretty massive, I think it's reasonable that Gordon's travels didn't go too far off coast, but oceans drained enough to be beyond sight.
Is this something new (in the public eye) ValveTime received or just another one sitting around in an obsolete website for who knows how long that is just recently rediscovered?
Not quite. ValveTime has collected so much media from Valve (it's been around since HL1), that they could release a screenshot every week and never run out of content!
Not quite. ValveTime has collected so much media from Valve (it's been around since HL1), that they could release a screenshot every week and never run out of content!
But what if they released two screenshots a week, would that mean that sooner or later, they'd have to start shitposing to make ends meet?
But what if they released two screenshots a week, would that mean that sooner or later, they'd have to start shitposing to make ends meet?
you mean this isnt? :v:
But what if they released two screenshots a week, would that mean that sooner or later, they'd have to start shitposing to make ends meet?
Not really. They've been getting new media as well so it's basically an endless cycle.
you mean this isnt? :v:
It's the "entertainment" aspect of ValveTime.
The Mighty Boosh & Half-Life. A match made in hell.
Did Alyx gun too! [T]http://i.imgur.com/embkIki.png[/T]
