• Major Update Speculation V35 - A Distinctive Lack of Communication

Valve might have not released the Pyro Pack because there was a huge post with thousands of upvotes that Valve had not to combine Smissmas with Pyro Pack.
like reddit actually has any influence :v: also, I remember that post and most of the comments were calling him a dumbass because tough break, the update he was complaining about, was more substantial than a number of previous chrsitmas updates if they looked at the post i'm sure they saw the comments too
Its getting awfully late for the obligatory After-Update-Fix patch, no? For a friday atleast.
Its getting awfully late for the obligatory After-Update-Fix patch, no? The Workshop Wonderland medals are going to be getting a fix to them in the next update, but I wouldn't count on it being before tomorrow since its Christmas weekend. But that aside, here's some info on getting those new Workshop Wonderland medals in the charity drive!
I got an email from Valve on Github. [t]http://i.imgur.com/HZGua47.png[/t] He's referring to the ctf_well exploit with the sticky jumper. Was it patched successfully? I don't have a sticky jumper so I can't test. Plus the issue was from three years ago, I have no idea why I'm getting a reply now. Apologies if this is the wrong thread.
I just noticed that the draw animation for the Objector on Scout changed.

What confuses me about this is that, afterall, ctf_well doesnt exist in Casual...
Someone already posted about that guy not being at Valve, but being a community moderator. I guess his job is to dig into problems that are occuring and report them eventually to Valve. I doubt he's making this round from his own initiative. But it's good that bugs are being looked into. There's several map exploits still around as well as other issues.
Seems like they'll actually leave Casual as broken as it is right now for the next two weeks, amazing.
Judging by the master list of previous patches, it looks like today- December 23rd- is the last day they spend in the office, and the 30th is the earliest day they come back. So if we don't get fixes tonight, it'll be next week. Which, to be fair, could be a lot worse. [editline]23rd December 2016[/editline]
Someone already posted about that guy not being at Valve, but being a community moderator.
I said he wasn't a dev, not necessarily that he doesn't work at Valve. Whether he does or doesn't is beyond me, but don't take that extra inference from my statement.
On another thought, I'm glad it wasn't a major update, gun mettle still brings nightmares
I actually think Gun Mettle is the best update we've had since L&W. At least it tried re-balancing a ton of weapons, had a comic and narrative behind it, and had one of the best maps we've had, Powerhouse. The skins and campaign were worthless and only a tiny part of what was a genuine attempt at fixing TF2 up to have some quality mapping and balance.
Seems like they'll actually leave Casual as broken as it is right now for the next two weeks, amazing.
It's Christmas 2013 all over again, except instead of a broken Short Circuit for the holidays we have broken casual matchmaking.
I'd like to say "at least next year will be better", being that tf2 turns 10 next year, but who I am kidding? They seem pretty complacent with 0 communication and minimal effort updates. Lets hope they at least remember to turn on birthday mode in 2017.
We won't get a birthday themed update until Tf2 turns 119 years old.
It's Christmas 2013 all over again, except instead of a broken Short Circuit for the holidays we have broken casual matchmaking.
At least the broken Short Circuit was fun to use for a short while.
At least the broken Short Circuit was fun to use for a short while.
Well unless you like playing Solider or Demo.

The short was amazing and the bread monsters are awesome, but gameplay-wise it came with some of the dumbest balance changes ever concieved (the Heavy one still going stroing in how bs it is) and 5 weapons with only one of them staying in a realtively healthy place since release. Yes, we also got a new way to socialize in-game, but that's not something that really breaks or makes an update for me. The content that came after L&W that year was great, though. I remember it being very tightly placed, so maybe L&W is remembered fondly as an update kind of by association.
It's been 2 and a half years and they still haven't tried to make the Classic relevant.
It's been 2 and a half years and they still haven't tried to make the Classic relevant.
It's been probably more than 5 years now and the Third Degree is still a joke
It's been 9 years and scientists are still baffled at the Engineer's 200 ammo pistol.
It's been probalby more than 5 years now and the Third Degree is still a joke
What? a joke? It's very indubitably useful for the 2 times you'll use it to fight a medic-someone duo. If Pyro had no other weapons, it would be the best one!
It's been 9 years and scientists are still baffled at the Engineer's 200 ammo pistol.
Yeah that's always baffled me. I can see giving the engie more pistol ammo to use to harass enemies outside of sentrty range but 200 is so high and most engines will be near a dispenser.

this problem comes back around as often as crate drops
this problem comes back around as often as crate drops
Yeah, I think this has been the third time I've seen that bug pop up throughout my TF2 playing career lol. Just gotta kick people if you see them swapping to spectator. I'm surprised though that you can even swap to spectator though in a casual match though. Or maybe he's saying "Fix it" by meaning VACing Delfy instead?
this has been waiting longer to be made not total shit
I generally believe on the list of priorities for re-balancing, melee weapons rank really low on the list of stuff to fix for Valve. Given the choice between re-balancing a primary weapon with unique sounds, a unique model, and possibly unique animations, versus re-balancing a melee weapon on a class that barely uses its melee weapon anyway, the priority really should be on the primary. And Pyro's primaries are still kind of a mess.
Given the choice between re-balancing a primary weapon with unique sounds, a unique model, and possibly unique animations,
this is irrelevant
