I don't know if i'm noticing it more because I am high rank now, but soooo many hackers in MM. Weirdos. Must have been some progress in lmaobox or whatever against vac.
Lmaobox is still the same from what I know, just people don't give a fuck their 24th alt account gets banned because they can just make another and another and another. I will say MM just funnels them into matches so you're bound to be connected to one eventually.

It's just the game playing itself, it's mostly like watching a movie but without anything interesting.

They also have to get premium (so put 5 bucks, because it's the minimal amount to be added to Steam Wallet) and get a phone number. Or, buy a pass for 10 bucks.
ALL BANNED WEAPONS ACROSS HIGHLANDER AND 6V6. Let's take a look. Balances I suggest override previous weapons' stats entirely. Enjoy.
so there i posted a very large list of balances i think would be good for every single weapon banned between highlander and 6v6 in season 22 of ugc

I'm rank 15 so I guess the other high ranks are likely to be cheaters since no other fucker has bothered to slog through the mire of shite.

Pretty sad when casual ranks mean jack shit.
Theres a reason I was kinda hoping matchmaking would be behind a pay wall, not that I'd pay for its current service.
Jill sent someone an email letting them know they were going to fix MVM cool down bug in the next update:
Here's the secret, folks: if you want a reply from the TF2 team, be sure to swear like an angsty teen in both the subject line and main body of your email. They'll even thank you for it.
Darn, no wonder they never reply to me--I don't curse.

Thank you for the report! - John
Well, that's not a new thing. I remember 4-5 years ago, when I was a bit younger my game crashed on a really good match, so I went up and wrote Eric a pretty nasty Email where I atleast described how it happened. Felt pretty bad after the "Thank you for the report!" :V
Unrelated; but it kinda sucks because I want to continue to make content for TF2 but I also feel like I'm a contributor at the one of the worst times possible; as some people are losing interest in the game.
I feel the same. I've got something 90% done and something I always wanted to see and I just cannot bring myself to open Blender and do those last few quality checks. Between the tiered crates, and how even the really popular stuff isn't making it in, it just feels really pointless.
Seeing these letters makes me understand why are they hesitant to communicate. I would be too.
at this point aren't like 80% of the contributors doing it for the money? id be certainly be suprised if the majority of the emporium consists of players genuinely enjoying the game daily for what it is rather than a potential cash machine. unless somebody convinces me all these all-class conversions were just coincidences out of the good of their hearts

Switching an item from one class to multiple probably wouldn't really change how much you make as contributors don't get any money from scm sales. Maybe it would increase sales from whatever crate they would be in, but it would probably be negligible. Could always be an attempt to grab some extra cash though. Just wouldn't be too effective.

If I was doing it solely for the money I'd be doing DOTA 2 stuff instead.
So. UMMMM. I SENT. THE EMAIL. with a list of all the balance changes i suggested here AND this happened i'm a tiny bit happy at the moment

I met a lot of talented and helpful people. Now; I'm more than motivated to do more at this point forward, making fixes for the Snowmann and more content as well. I've got a lot in mind for 2017.
Forwarded right into the waste bin.
As funny as you think it is to make these jokes, they're really uncalled for. We at least know that someone from the team will look at them, that's probably more communication we've had with the TF2 team in forever.
Forwarded right into the waste bin.
jesus christ dude, will you stop bitching about valve for once
So a little while ago we were talking about the TF2 tutorial and new players struggling with TF2 due to how complex it is. I've been thinking about it for a little while and came up with this new tutorial: You start in an elevator that opens to a battle damaged hallway. You need to get to the end of the hallway and it's a simple tutorial area that shows you the basic movement keys as well as using jump, crouch, and crouch jump to get by some of the debris. This has on screen text telling you what buttons to press (and maybe voice lines from the administrator telling you to hurry up and get to the end of the hallway). When you get through the end of the hallway a door opens to a large area with Miss Pauline. She apologizes for the administrator and maybe we get some banter between them. If you try and shoot Miss Pauline it turns out she's just a hologram created by the engineer because she's had to put down too many mercenaries in the past who though it would be funny to attack her. It's a large room and has the objectives in TF2, like a payload cart, a control point and the intel briefcase. She explains you'll be hired either defend or attack these objectives. At this point you can change class. Miss Pauline goes over the basics of each class and has some banter with each one (for example she might ask the Scout how he can double jump and he says something like "Well...um...it's an ancient Boston secret" and she's convinced the demo man's drunk and he denies it at first before finally agreeing that he's had some drinks. Maybe throw in some banter with the administrator at this part). You also get a bot (maybe an MVM robot) to attack so you can test the weapons at this part. The tutorial area would also have an optional combat area you could use. Outside you would be able to use your melee to hit some screens to choose the difficulty and number of bots you fight. There would also be an area you could only get to by using a rocket or sticky jump you learn about during the solider and demo training. Once you finish the basics for each class you get a contract for that class to complete later. When you finish going over each class you get a graduation cap hat. You can leave the tutorial anytime and it will keep track of your progress, so you could do the scout and solider training and then go play as them and do the contracts, then come back and continue with the other classes. Miss Pauline lets you know you get rewards for completing the contract, and a special reward for completing all the contracts. Anyway the contracts would give you points for doing the basic actions of the class to reinforce the training. The medic would give you points for healing and kill assists, with advanced points for deploying an uber charge. The pyro may give you normal points for killing enemies or airblasting them and advanced points for extinguishing team mates. The engie gives you points for sentry kills, dispenser healing and teleports and maybe advanced points for having all 4 buildings up at once. The player should get an award for each contract. Maybe an untradable weapon skin for that class, either based on the low tier/basic skins from Gun Mettle and Tough Break or some new ones. The special reward you get when you do all the contracts is a bundle of items similar to what you get for Christmas, untradable items like a backback extender, a name tag, a description tag and maybe a random paint (make part of the graduation cap paint-able so people get a taste of cosmetic items and being able to customize them). Now the other thing Valve would need to do is get coaching working again on Valve servers. All Valve servers now support up to 32 player slots for MVM so make casual have maybe 2 extra hidden player slots that can be used for coaches. Miss Pauline could mention the coaching system during the tutorial saying if you need extra help to ask for a coach. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm sure something like this would be a lot of work for the TF2 team and wouldn't really directly benefit anyone here but I think a tutorial like this could really help train and retain new players. I'm planning on sending this to Valve a suggestion for a better tutorial system and I would love some feedback before sending it in.
-a good idea-
I like this a lot, though I think it should go into greater detail; ubercharge, rocket/sticky jump, airblast, spy stuff, etc etc
sound really cool, but doesn't feel like it real fits with tf2, just seems to single player game, like the jump from that to a 24 person server would be pretty big. (but if the could like tie it in to the comics some how that would be cool to (or re-lease a comic in general))
I like this a lot, though I think it should go into greater detail; ubercharge, rocket/sticky jump, airblast, spy stuff, etc etc
Yeah I imagine the training for each class would go into more advanced techniques for each class before you get the contract. For example for the medic tutorial would bring up a friendly bot and Miss Pauline would explain about ubercharge and have you do one on the friendly bot while being attacked by an enemy bot. The Spy and Engie tutorial would go more indepth about using cloak/blackstabs/sappers and making buildings. Maybe label Spy and Engie as more advanced classes in the class selection.
jesus christ dude, will you stop bitching about valve for once
I'm hoping it was a joke because I was going to make a similar comment using this vid. =X

sound really cool, but doesn't feel like it real fits with tf2, just seems to single player game, like the jump from that to a 24 person server would be pretty big. (but if the could like tie it in to the comics some how that would be cool to (or re-lease a comic in general))
I do agree this is somewhat single player like (though this is partially based off of the tutorial system that Overwatch has, which I think is pretty good and much better then what TF2 has) but I think this new system I came up with gets players a little better acclimated with TF2 and is much better then the current tutorial or just throwing them in the deep end and having them join a 24 player server. One other suggestion that someone came up with some time ago (I don't remember who) is have an easy to access button (maybe one of the F keys like F1 or F2) that brings up a screen that shows your class info and info on your currently equipped weapons as a quick reference to what your class and weapons can do, similar to what Overwatch has. If we want TF2 to continue to grow it needs to be much more friendly to new players and ease them into the game more then it currently does. The better the early experience people have with TF2 the more likely they are to come back, and the higher the player base gets.
I do think people should try and look more at "getting new players" than "bringing old players back" because... well, TF2 is just such a different beast than it was 5-8 years ago.
So, now there's 4 ways to report bugs: 1. Send an email to TF Team. 2. Use the bug tracker. 3. Use the in-game bug report. 4. Shit about it on Reddit and hope it's popular enough for Valve to see it. So, it's clear 1 and 2 works, while 4 sorta can, you don't know if your post will be lost in the sea of shitposts. Did anyone get their bug fixed if they used the in-game bug report feature? I'm curious.
