tf2 would've been a better game with soldier designed with 175 hp and pyro with 200 from there that would have changed the outcome of so many updates along the years.
It would've been a better game if Demo had his dynamite bundle too, or at the very least if his explosives had been nerfed early on
I never once had an issue with the phlog as any class, even medic. Infact I made it agame to specifically try to time ubersaw taunt kills on them. Got me killed a lot but it was funny when I pulled it off.
I really wish Valve would implement a class limit to Casual and Competitive. It's no fun waiting 7 minutes to join a specific map, then to be immediately rolled because your entire team went Engineer for some reason.
Personally I would like to see a limit of 2 each for engine, spy and sniper and 3 for the rest in casual along with standard 6 limits for comp. I'm sure casual class limits would cause a huge shitstorm though.

That sorta brings up the problem that Pyro is actually fine in pubs, not because he's good but pub players are just that bad. He just has absolutely no way to move beyond pub play
I spawn camped with the Phlogistinator, thank you very much, before it was unduly nerfed. Now I simply use the Degreaser+Reserve Shooter.
Ok thanks for proving my point about not being properly experienced.
With what exactly? What high-tier mechanics am I missing out on? Reflecting? That isn't very difficult either, but please, go ahead and make your class choice seem superior to mine, if that makes you feel better.
congratulations, you can be vaguely aware of projectiles, and can switch your weapons after knocking someone airborne! you've just unlocked the full potential of the pyro! [editline]26th October 2016[/editline] as an aside, how harshly would the game be impacted of soldier's health WERE reduced to 175?
as an aside, how harshly would the game be impacted of soldier's health WERE reduced to 175?
about 4 hours of screaming and crying from the competitive crowd until it gets reverted back to 200
If I'm understating the Pyro's mechanical depth, then please correct me with facts over slander.
Soldier nerfs would mean everyone plays Demo instead, and then the game would die because fuck that
If I'm understating the Pyro's mechanical depth, then please correct me with facts over slander.
Slander? Do you know what slander is? Do you not main heavy?
Slander? Do you know what slander is? Do you not main heavy?
If I was referring specifically to you, I would have said so, but there was another participant in this conversation.
If I was referring specifically to you, I would have said so, but there was another participant in this conversation.
Then do a better job of quoting people.
Then do a better job of quoting people.
I didn't quote anyone when I made that post, as it was a generalized statement posed to anyone defending the Pyro as being inherently more skillful than Heavy.
I didn't quote anyone when I made that post.
Correct.
Pyro is baby's first class and thats why he won the war.
I didn't quote anyone when I made that post, as it was a generalized statement posed to anyone defending the Pyro as being inherently more skillful than Heavy.
So it was a generalized post. So are you saying that someone disagreeing with your assessment on pyro's skill is slander?
Saying I have no experience at Pyro is slander.
Saying I have no experience at Pyro is slander.
Then it wasn't a generalized statement, it was a response directly to the person who was saying that?
what are you doing?
Bickering over semantics for no reason, I suppose.
what are you doing?
Having a conversation, just as you are now.
With what exactly? What high-tier mechanics am I missing out on? Reflecting? That isn't very difficult either, but please, go ahead and make your class choice seem superior to mine, if that makes you feel better.
I literally never implied my choice was superior, I'm saying you just flat-out don't understand the competitive value of a class (no matter how shitty) with how biased and cavalier you response are. Four hundred hours means nothing in this game when you're spending them pridefully using some of the easiest tactics in the game to pubstomp and using that as your main example of a class' depth. And we main possibly the two most weak and flawed classes in the game buddy so we both lose. I didn't want to be pathetic and say Pyro deserved to win because it takes more skill but you dragged it out of me by seriously suggesting Heavy is any better.
Saying I have no experience at Pyro is slander.
I can't even take you seriously right now. Admitting you use crutch loadouts is like begging to be called inexperienced.
The Pyro isn't very useful in 6v6 and isn't particularly important in Highlander, so I don't see where you're coming from when it comes to competitive value. Yes, I used primarily cheap weapons, but the Reserve Shooter is also a direct upgrade, so I can't see a good reason not to utilize it.

The most obvious one is if the target stays outside of airblast range, where you cannot utilize crits at all. So all you have is a shotgun with less ammo before needing to reload. Another could be if the critical damage isn't really required to kill the target and a normal shot would have been just as effective. I forget if you can utilize crits in water as well. Fight larger groups of people, you might benefit with having more shots before requiring to reload could be a possibility as well. The situations are semi rare though. Except for maybe the first one if your fighting a good player that knows how to properly keep their distance from you. Probably a scout more then anyone else.

And protecting the Engie's buildings from spam and the spy and the Medic from backstabs in HL seems pretty important to me. No comp Pyro in their right mind uses the Reserve Shooter because they know those two extra shells can win an encounter and they don't have to use airblast combos for literally all of their kills. I'm done trying to argue that a class can have the smallest inkling of value/potential to someone so biased and narrow-minded. Remember, you were the first to imply the other doesn't take skill and started this pissing contest.
