Probably should have stated that medic is a "Dedicated" healer, the rest being more of a mixed roll that can help the team out in the off chance medic is dead or overwelmed... But not reliable enough to completely dedicate themselves to it since they have downtimes or have toe build the charge to get it.
So I've done some testing on the save maps feature, and it doesn't work between TF2 launches for me. If I save my maps and then change then, then use the load map feature before closing TF2 it will load my saved maps, but if I save my maps, change them, close TF2 and then open it and try to load my saved maps it wont work. Is anyone else having the same issue?
And yet, anomalously, CS:GO seems to be vastly appealing to a large demographic, so I'm not entirely certain that a more sluggish game is going to turn away spectators. And to be quite frank, the overwhelming prominence of four of the nine classes certainly doesn't help in sparking and maintaining interest when so much of the game is marginalized.
Adding on to this point, people like watching golf for fuck's sake. As well as chess. Speed of a sport doesn't matter, it can be as slow as possible and people will still enjoy watching it. Visual clutter, on the other hand, can be annoying, which is why Highlander isn't nearly as popular from the spectator side of things.

Come on, I obviously meant healing as their main thing. It's like saying Heavy is fire-based too because he has the Hu-Long.
I think the real issue with GRU Heavy being allowed in 6s isn't just that GRU takes away his primary weakness as a class- it's also the fact that, to counter him, a Sniper (and possibly a Heavy) will need to be run to counter it. In addition to slowing game pace, it decreases the flexibility allowed by offclassing and team composition. There's no reason not to run a Heavy with GRU fulltime in this circumstance, so both teams will have to play around that.
6s' goal is maintaining game speed in addition to game balance, so that's a point worth considering. Pub TF2's pacing is godawful in a competitive setting, and classes like Heavy and Sniper being run fulltime will make stalemates (already an issue in 5CP) even more of a problem.
That's just me though.
A lot of the things that make Heavy unplayable don't really exist in 6s.
He's probably the #1 victim of random crits and with only 5 enemy sources of focus fire he can actually tank quite well, especially if theres no bans on things like the Quick Fix or the Vaccinator.
There's talk about metas and stuff now? How much am I going to miss valve servers when I get back to this game

First you'll think "Casual isn't so bad"
but then you'll notice that that one mode you want to play takes about 5 minutes in the queue
then you'll see your friends playing in a different match and not be able to join them because ad-hoc is disabled
And then you'll start seeing how one sided 99% of casual matches are because its so easy to stack and the backfill takes so long it might as well not exist
But hey no auto balancing.
People watch CSGO because of it's fast paced, strategic ~2 minute rounds. Nobody wants to sit and watch lord exor the heavy main and his sandvich strats for 30 minutes.
heavy's problem is that he cant really "tank" when faced by opponents with burst damage like soldier and scout. 3 rockets or 3 scattergun shots and he's below 50 health, where his only options are to run away and die, die on the spot, or hope to god a medic comes around to save his ass like some omnipotent german guardian angel. heavy doesnt have the tools to escape, and he doesnt have the tools to deal with burst damage or pressure.
And this is a big problem when 5/6ths of each team are high-octane burst damage fiends

but the Sandvich Strats are the best part!
It takes skill to throw a sandvich with such grace and elegance as he does!

What exactly is fast paced about CS:GO?

Teams bumping into each other at bomb sites and bullets going everywhere for a few brief seconds, then it goes back to slow pushes and coordination
you'll miss Valve servers because cheaters are more rampant than ever
sometimes you can't even kick them because vote kick is completely broken

Looks like Brimstone is about to get worse.
is the creator of brimstone and hellstone blackmailing valve to let his maps in every year or something? I can't think of any other reason we got the same map featuring the same problems made by the same person twice in a row, even though the community said hellstone itself was bad and there were plenty of other choices valve could've made. (gravelpit event being one of my favorites other than slasher)
like how do you make the same map and not learn from any of your mistakes?
I remember the first time I played brimstone it took me ten minutes to realize I wasnt playing hellstone
for those ten minutes I was so confused, thinking "valve added 3 new maps? I only see two new ones on the list"
I'm just confused at the map choices. They're obviously picked because they play well competitively, which should be a given. The maps are geometrically made competitively, but at the cost of losing some aesthetic (MapleRidge is the best example of this. It plays well as a KOTH map but doesn't feature unique Halloween theme-ing, and its architecture seems a bit all over the place) However, Scream Fortress is not a game you want to play competitively. Unlike regular TF2, it has the pumpkin crits that completely off-balance the maps. The spells also add to this. And given that this is played in Casual, random crits are also in effect. So you're left with a competitive map with goofy Halloween elements bringing it down. It would have been better all around if more Halloween-oriented maps were picked, given how odd the game plays during Halloween already.
dunno where you're getting the idea that ANY of these maps, even without Halloween gimmicks, would be suited to competitive play
Brimstone/Hellstone's layout would never work in HL, and I don't see either 6s or HL boys taking to Pit of Death or Maple Ridge for competitive play. What does "geometrically made competitively" even mean, and how can a map be picked for playing well competitively if it hasn't received any league testing thus far?
Can you only get unusualifiers from the creepy crawly crates? I was considering opening some since i do that every halloween.

I made both maps and your claim that it is the "same map" is not correct. Within 3 hours from release of that video, i submitted fix for Valve. Took me 1,5 hours to hear about the vid itself, rest i spent for fixing and testing. Problem is, they didnt release an update on friday night so here we are. Just like with sd_doomsday_event exploit sentries under the map, that was in the game over the weekend.
The issue in both is the tiny spell itself. If i have had the chance, i would have disabled the tiny spell from the spellbooks completely, just like valve did with the teleport spell back in helltower when it was exploited and it was put behind server option. It's not possible for me to do so.
I'm sorry that this happened. I cannot predict everything, it's simply impossible. Good news is that these things are short term.

Hellstone also known as Millstone is currently being played in UGC highlander season 20 with only minor changes to the last area and some more lighting in mid area of the map so i'm not sure that why they picked it up if it doesn't work competitively. I spent time with them looking out for the map and they were very helpfull and friendly towards the map. It's better than it was previously. You can get Unusuals or Unusualifiers (those can come as extra drops).

I'll give this to Delfy, he has good taste in music.
People that don't see "Slows the game down" as an argument have never seen it actually happening.
Then again, 5CP itself is a flawed gamemode causing stalemates.
