That unusual is a cool idea. I saw it on reddit awhile ago, I guess Valve did as well.

I'm not sure how the chat change helps spies, the only people who couldn't see your messages when dead was living enemy players. Living players on your team could see your messages while you were dead.

Ah, then that's a different story... I miss interpreted what it meant and though no living players could see messages from dead players.

no, you can't, except on alltalk servers
the only change is that now when you're dead, you're not force muted to the enemy

Use third party chat devices I guess till it's fixed and pay more attention to your surroundings I guess.

i don't know, it seems intentional to me, look at the changelog

they explicitly go over what it does when it's disabled, and then make it a point to say it's disabled in competitive
this is a feature, just not one made with 3rd party voice chats in mind
Once again Valve does the exact opposite of what the comp community would want for comp matchmaking, this time not allowing a dead teammate to communicate with a living one. I'm just not sure what Valve is thinking with some of this stuff.

The comp community is going to be even less interested in comp matchmaking now, plus Valve is continuing to move further away from comp standards that have existed for years.

Maybe trying to make the spy less useless? Doesnt really work, though, because of external programs.

But it is, sorry but being honest helps the guy who made the map more, if he decides to make another one.
Everytime I get a contract on those maps, I roll my eyes and go Plogh pyro so I can end it quickly.
Now that Valve fixed gravetalk lets hope they add the improved voice coded that CSGO uses to TF2 soon so the voice chat doesn't sound awful.
Maybe it would be a nice surprise for the Christmas update Valve?

man I was just thinking this game needs more slightly different baseball caps that don't fit with any loadouts
it should have a few styles
"top hat", "baseball cap", "bowler", and "beanie"
would be nice variety for unusual creators to choose from and enjoy, and open up more loadout avenues

Or just give you the unusualifier for your effect and apply the effect onto a hat you want it on, making it untradable in the process.
Imagine Unusuals for hats that can't be unusual, traders would be up in arms.
