At this point Valve might want to consider dropping the TF2 theme of it all and give it a less generic name with more not-just-a-TF2-item prizes.
It's like saying "Why do we still call it a Nobel Prize? He's dead anyway."
Perhaps a pretty steam account background.
You think it's funny but a saxxy awards exclusive winner background would be a pretty good idea actually. Bonus points if Valve awards saxxy winners a custom profile background on a person-by-person basis. They can send them a pic and ask them to make it his background or something Maybe an exclusive badge that grants a LOT of XP? Like 3-4, maybe 5k XP or something? [t]http://i.imgur.com/eRvSVsv.png[/t] 5k is a lot, given level 0-30 is ~6k XP, a worthy prize given we have people with levels exceeding 800, and a really nice gift for a lvl 10-20 SFM artist. Instantly unlocks a lot of showcases for them.
speaking of xp, imho community contributors should get an xp boost for having self-made items... kinda frustrating we dont sometimes, it'd be nice to be able to show off our workshop without having to sink a bunch of cash into cards and going through the dull process

We go over this every week, Ikes. You know damn well what you're doing whenever you make posts like this and even though every week you say you'll change, you never do, and you never will.
No offense, but you don't have to keep shoehorning in the fact that you have self mades into unrelated conversations here in MUS.
I get that hating on Ikes is a cool bandwagon lately, but it was very on topic considering people were talking about community contributors getting special profile stuff. Let the man post stuff. If its something dumb, rate him dumb and move on. The best thing that's going to come from calling him out is 2 pages of drama and someone saying they're sorry and they'll never do it again, which we all know is a lie.

That's criticism. There's no "cool bandwagon", ikes is apparently only contributing items to brag about it on public forums and that's why we point out he shouldn't be a cunt about it. Yet, he still is. I actually silently hope Jill reads this and remembers not to accept ikes' items anymore.
you can already have a custom background, just upload as artwork
[t]http://i.imgur.com/hfPl7Bu.png[/t] Compare the marked areas. Don't you think the red squares are a bit bigger in size and would be a better customization reward, especially in an exclusive manner?

@Jukebox - case in point, had to use such measures to "express" what I had in mind. He is indeed being a little to full of himself about his selfmades constantly, so the term "being a cunt about it" isn't out of place, is it?
aren't you the guy showing off scores and whatnot at every opportunity yourself
I do it to prove a point I'm talking about, rather than just complaining I'm not getting enough attention from Valve. I would use someone else's screenshots in the same manner, but what point is searching for someone else's screenshots to prove a point, if yours will fill the role just as well and are right under your nose?
Lets put all this aside and check out the Saxxy winners, yeah?
I actually silently hope Jill reads this and remembers not to accept ikes' items anymore.
That wouldn't really seem fair on any other contributors on his items though, especially since ikes always hires a texturer

We've released an optional update for Team Fortress 2. The note for the update is below. The new server version number is 3703329. Community servers only need this update if they are interested in the CELT codec beta. The mentioned ReadPreserveEnt fix is a client-side update only. - John ----- - Returned Unusual drop chances and possible particles effects to their original values now that Halloween has ended - Added beta support for the CELT voice codec - Currently only enabled in community servers that opt-in to the beta - Server operators can enable CELT usage by setting the below convars, followed by a level change - sv_use_steam_voice 0 - sv_voicecodec vaudio_celt - Updated the localization files - Fixed an occasional client crash with an error message regarding "CL_ReadPreserveEnt" NEW VOICE CODEC HYPE
Lets put all this aside and check out the Saxxy winners, yeah?
That drama entry is MaxOfS2D levels of bullshinanigans. Living in Obsurity was 100% made as a comedy film, not a drama film (while Max's was just 0% comedy and 100% lighting testing). How the fuck was that the winner.
Great to see Valve finally adding support for CELT.
I actually silently hope Jill reads this and remembers not to accept ikes' items anymore.
you can insult my person but this is just disgusting, honestly
wow, the drama was not as cringy as last year, and the winner of the same category was pretty good I think. But I'm sad that Double-Edged Defense did not win something, that was unseen gore that fits perfectly into the TF2 context
stuff that caters to pyro mains will always win its respective category, mark my words glad that living in obscurity won, though, cause that was actually good
in the action category, I thought it was going to be Timeless Thief x Double-Edged Defense. When I saw that Timeless Thief won best overall(well-deserved) I really got my expectations high for Double-Edged Defense, sadly it did not win (Pybro was good too, but not as good in my opinion).
Unfortunatly it seems that unusualifiers are still giving out 2016 Halloween effects. There is a good chance that was the intention of the unusualifiers though.
Unfortunatly it seems that unusualifiers are still giving out 2016 Halloween effects. There is a good chance that was the intention of the unusualifiers though.
that would do a really bad effect on the economy, unusual taunts are really rare, giving other effects would make existing ones cheap [editline]19th November 2016[/editline] kinda sad they didn't decide to use Opus instead, that would've been awesome, still much better than the old codec though
Holy shit new voice codec, I think I just blew my load.

Pretty good Saxxy winners this year all around (and nominees, too) - especially impressive for Drama, usually the weakest category (TF2 and Drama just doesn't tend to work that well).
