I'm gonna retag it for jungle i think it'll get more publicity that way

Make it multi-class at the same time! :godzing:
how come heartsman always does that shit, to my knowledge he's the only real major workshop contributor who does it too
Likely under the idea that "They're animal and or animalistic and therefore fit a jungle theme"
It's fine if it actually fits, but some of these are just big stretches and bad calls on his part
knowing valve they might actually add it
And it will be red tier of course

And to play devil's advocate, the yeti could actually fit in the jungle. After all, we've already seen a yeti in a jungle.
atleast heavy tourism is plausible for mayann to a point, same with a jungle theme alone
but holy mackerel arms and head for scout, a mole head for engineer and a crocodile head for sniper are all obvious halloween hats trying to be shoehorned as hard as possible
knowing valve they might actually add it
when they inevitably add it as a top tier crate item we can say PUT THAT HAT BACK WHERE IT CAME FROM OR SO HELP ME

Has anyone ever told that guy to just stop?
Maybe we might see the Raptor Scout tagged as Jungle next since "Park" can be seen in the blog post screenshot.
honestly retagging is pretty legit. There's no pattern or logic with valve and you've got nothing to lose by doing so.
If Valve adds new appropriate tags, tagging your appropriate items to those is fine. Tagging items that do not fit under the tag at all is NOT fine. That would just make the whole idea cluttered and non functional.
It's a shame that the Frontline update probably won't be picked up as is. I was really looking forward to it, it had the strongest aesthetic and most cohesive theme of all the community updates so far.
And it will be red tier of course
Well... good?
I don't really understand why people get mad that the zaniest-looking items tend to end up being Elite tier. It just means you see fewer of them during actual gameplay, which is fine by me.
Obviously, the fact that such dumb items get added at all is irritating; but that's another issue altogether.

There was a raptor costume for scout that was submitted for Mayan after not getting into the Halloween Update.

This strongly clashes with my experience of seeing banana hats way more than any other hat from that crate when it came out.
If a hat is too zany, just don't add it to the game, don't make it some elite sign of wealth that a lot of people will use solely because of that.

I don't see a reason why we couldn't get a "World War" theme later in 2017, or something. Frontline itself obviously won't be cut and pasted right into the game (because of certain changes to that system), but I'd be honestly surprised if the TF Team didn't try and fill the long gap between Summer 2017 and Winter 2017's respective major updates.
Not to be a debbie downer, but getting another random cosmetic case with a ridiculously small amount of cosmetics, most of them being from an event like Frontline (similar to how Mayflower was basically the Workshop of Horrors compensation case), seems like the safest bet to me tbh.
Oh, and eventually having one of the several maps accepted into a campaign.

see your mistake is to apply "reason" with "valve"
I don't know why people complain, but knowing that there is pyro update, jungle update and heavy update coming in the pipeline over the coming year, i can't be more happy about it.
But i'm beginning to think that the major updates will arrive only after period of 5-6 months. Which would mean heavy hits a year from now, jungle 6 months from now and pyro still this year.
If this jungle update is going to be our summer update, and the Pyro update will be in December at the earliest, I'm worried about how long we'll have to wait for the Heavy update.
so valve picks a jungle theme which is basically swamp theme 2.0, looks dull as fuck and has been done many times, completely skips frontline
cool

I think a large part of it is that Mayan was in the works for longer than Frontline, if I am not mistaken?

so was iron gauntlet, it was older than mayan, what's your point

the frontline theme is also way less specific than mayann, while frontline is superior in production value and overall theme most, if not all, of the frontline cosmetics could easily fit in to a normal unthemed tf2 cosmetic case
for submitting frontline style items to the jungle pack, jungle warfare is a pretty decent compromise between the two and there's already quite a few submissions that fit that description
overall the jungle theme serves both frontline and mayann decently and tbh the drama that was invasion and the disappointment behind the previous 100% community lead updates, it's no surprise that valve doesn't want to put an entire update in the communities hands and i think this system is a pretty decent way of letting the community still have their cool home-grown updates while letting valve handle the revenue and management of the project

The point is that assuming they're "completely skipping" frontline doesn't really make sense. Mayann has been in the works longer, so if they're going to do both Mayann and Frontline eventually, they would probably do Mayann first. Mayann started earlier, it would stand to reason that if they're doing Mayann that, should get into the game earlier than Frontline.

Major Valve updates have the 6-month scheme, this jungle one seems to be a mostly-community update to be shipped Q1, most likely Spring (since the submissions cut off in a few months).
No reason to expect Pyro update any later than December, or Heavy update any later than next Summer.
At least from the pattern I've been seeing so far, I'd be very surprised if Valve announced their Summer update in November of the previous year, all while setting a submission deadline that ends 3-4 months before the update hits. The times just don't line up very well.
Was Invasion the only community update that had management issues or did the other community updates also have management issues?
Every community update has had its share of hiccups but invasion was more or less the final straw at valve for putting any real power in the community team
that's what i've gathered, at least
End of the Line was also filled with tons of issues.
Albeit from the sound of it Valve themselves were the ones causing those.
valve if you ever add any more cosmetics please dont tiered it
Is it me or have they STILL not updated the weapon draw audio to match the faster draw speeds they added for all weapons last year?
