Major Update Speculation V35 - A Distinctive Lack of Communication

I have a strange sound bug where pressing m1 with the KGB has a loud metal clank play when the punch performs hitscan
is it just me?
the frontline theme is also way less specific than mayann, while frontline is superior in production value and overall theme most, if not all, of the frontline cosmetics could easily fit in to a normal unthemed tf2 cosmetic case
When we started planning Mayann, it was actually planned to be mostly Jungle themed. But because the theme was a bit too broad, we wound up going on a more specific path (jungle adventure and ruins). I always liked and belived (exotic/tropical) jungle to be a fresh new take on TF2 and a more original/new theme on the TF2's Universe, and honestly, I still see jungle as a fresher and more vibrant take on TF2 than the war/robotic/medieval themes we've had a few times in the past, which is what leads me to belive why Valve picked the jungle theme.
I just hope that it actually goes somewhere unlike cactus canyon and moonbase.
I would love for tf2 to start getting attention from valve again without people having to bug them, and I feel like publicly asking people to make things for this theme is a good step in the right direction.
so was iron gauntlet, it was older than mayan, what's your point
I have a feeling we'll see some of the Iron Gauntlet stuff go official then next time Valve releases MvM content (whenever they finish that air raid map it seems like they're working on)

for submitting frontline style items to the jungle pack, jungle warfare is a pretty decent compromise between the two and there's already quite a few submissions that fit that description
Given that Frontline got just as much of a positive reaction as Mayann I would be shocked if Valve doesn't go the Jungle/Mayann route and make a WW1/2 themed update with Frontline content.
Anyone know why maps have Smissmas tags working but items don't?

Can items even be tagged smissmass? I've only tagged maps and i doubt items can have that tag at all.

self-promotion aside, it's important you remember that the TF Team used that name first

I might be 2 day's late but i feel like the economy on unusual taunts will crash now.
November 21, 2016 - TF2 Team
An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include: Taunt Unusualifiers apply non-Halloween Unusual effects now that Halloween has ended
so wait just questioning im guessing you can now add effects on your taunt like silver cyclone or the old one's from the love & war update? If that's true then rip economy on unusual taunt's being 2 of 3 in the world or 1 of 1 in the world.
Tfw people still invest their money in a rare item in 9 year old fps with varying degrees of developer support and apparent competence.

tfw you know you're one of those people, but you still haven't given up hope and refuse to cash out

You're saying that like we didn't know about that. We did, which is why we named the map as such. We did consider lunarbase as a name though.
We're working on a mandatory update for Team Fortress 2. The notes for the update are below. We should have the update ready soon.

Interested in this. I assume it'll just add your effect to every taunt you do?

They should have assumed unusual contributors would make particles for both and make the taunt ones a badge or something for taunt effects.

They can fix this but not hitboxes while taunting?
They can fix this but not hitboxes while taunting?
Pretty sure it was done so that the Unusual Taunt Caps could actually work for all taunts, if the gimmick for these is being able to have an effect for any taunt.

Some taunts look really ugly as well, due to the pyro moving a bit forward while he sits down in the kiddy pool, but the effect stays right where the pyro was initially instead of also moving forward.
I might just be a bit nitpicky, but being someone who actually enjoys creating art, stuff like that bothers the shit out of me lol...
Here's screenshot showing how the taunt came out ingame. The effect is placed where the Pyro was originally standing when he activated the pool party taunt. But during the taunt, the pyro blows the pool up infront of him then jumps into.

Hit detection might be a bit more complicated than attaching a particle effect to a player.

then don't "correct" the dude (so you can link to your map!) when you knew damn well what he was talking about
They can fix this but not hitboxes while taunting?
what do you mean?
Hitboxes remain idle during taunt animations. For instance, when the medic bows during his medigun taunt, shooting his 'head' actually hits nothing or his chest because his head hitbox is still where it always is.
what do you mean?
you've really never tried to headshot someone while taunting?
another example is spy's box trot, it messes the hitbox so much that even sentries can't hit it
i just had the "inspect in game" feature crash tf2 twice in a row
It's kinda weird that everything bar 3 items from fancy vs nasty is in game now.
Im pretty sure the stock taunts and weapon taunts are the only ones where the hitboxes differ from the visuals. The fact that the boxtrot made sentries aim weird supports this, because if the spy still had the same hitbox, he would have gotten shot as if he just stood in front of the sentry.
