The scariest thing about this update is how little valve actually cares about this game.
It feels good to not collect any points even though I should be.
The scariest thing about this update is how little valve actually cares about this game.
I wanted to enjoy the event in hopes of doing contracts after playing Overwatch all day but nope. Item server down and contracts not working. Billion dollar company everyone.
Such a sad day. I was too late to receive one of those universal kits, didn't unbox anything seemingly rare from tons of crates (and no unusuals ofc), and played the same two maps for almost 10 hours waiting for contracts to start working.
Contract progress still doesn't track, and when it does it always stops after something (after I die or something else) and then stops tracking. It doesn't stay during different servers either. This is driving me fucking nuts.
I just want to get crates from my contracts so I can unbox them, but noooo.
after the super spooky maintenance, contracts actually started working for everyone in the server i was in. i managed to half-finish a contract before the map ended and i had to leave to do something, but ever since i came back, contracts have been broken for everyone again truly that's the most terrifying part of this halloween luring you in with false hope only to have it all taken away again just before it's realized super spooky
I think if you die after earning a soul, then the game glitches out and your contract freezes.

Well... Valve ~could change art assets next week... (Please do so)
Crates are worth more than the keys aaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

Defeated him over a dozen times and still didn't get it.
i really want to see one of those unusualifyers
Try looking on the Market http://steamcommunity.com/market/search?q=Unusualifier
-snip nvm, mustve been bugs-
Do you guys think they might fix the contract bug tomorrow?

I actualy wanted to support some of the map makers but knowing that 75% of the profits would go to valve i started to have second thoughts. (Correct me if im wrong but does valve take 75% from map stamps or other community items?)

By tool i mean the weapon addon. As a map maker, you can take my word on it.

(Correct me if im wrong but does valve take 75% from map stamps or other community items?)
Stamps 100% go to the mapmakers behind them. Despite Valve taking a cut on other items, that's no reason not to purchase a specific item since you'll still be supporting the contributor to a degree. Choosing not to purchase an item out of spite for Valve's cut directly results in lower profits for the actual contributors too. Of course I'm not going to police you, you're never obligated to purchase an item, but Valve getting some of that money is just the nature of the beast.
"Don't vote with your wallets, buy items even when you really disliked the update" is very poor advice in my opinion. While I think the update was pretty decent, if you hate an update do not buy items from the store when that update hits. The absolute best way to tell valve that you didn't like what they did for the update is to not give them money. While I sympathise with item creators, making sure that there's a good game long-term for those items to be put into is more important than supporting item makers short term. Without the game, there is no workshop. [editline]22nd October 2016[/editline] Stamps are 100% good all the time though, all of that goes to contributors, don't feel like you're supporting bad valve practices by buying them.

And maybe add some images to said loading screen? I know it's nitpicky perhaps, but officially accepted maps with missing map images and improper names on loading screens just bothers me a bit, like they're still left in a community-map state. Also, I think Hellstone has some grammar/spelling errors at the beginning, when BLU are given instructions on what to do with the ghost (he has some Finnish name, right?). Could you perhaps have someone proof-read that? Sorry if I'm bothering you over trivial things :)
people keep wondering why the cases are so minimal but it has to do with the way revenue is split in cases since it's a revenue split on a key-basis and revenue doesnt come from direct hat sales, adding more items means less % for each contributor involved in the case since key sales would stay roughly the same even with a case with more hats, this means contributors would be making less money than if the case they were in had fewer cosmetics more hats:case = less revenue for contributors = unhappy contributors
I still don't know why Valve hasn't added a strange part for every map to the store. Sell them for a dollar like filters but make it so any strange weapon can accept one as a special 4th strange part that counts kills or whatever the main thing that weapon tracks but not restrict the weapon from earning points/kills on other maps. Make them for all Valve maps too and take divide all the money made off of those the same way they do for map stamp bundles. I can't imagine it would be super hard to program in the game (but I could be wrong of course) and they would probably sell way better then the filters. The only thing I can think of is either Valve hasn't seen this suggestion/thought of this or they just don't care that much since they don't make any money off of map stamps/filters. It would be such a great way to provide additional financial support for community map makers.
Yeb, Contracts still arent working. Man, I just wanna unbox a single case.
Mine are broken in the way that someone above mentioned - the progress stops as soon as you die for the first time after collecting a soul. Joined 2 matches, got a few souls/points in the first life, died - progress broken for the rest of the match upon respawn...
Looks like Valve gave us a extra Challenge "Complete your contract in one life to complete it!"
i completed both contracts, still didnt get a single case. how are we supposed to unlock the crates

Contract Behavior is weird as fuck. Sometimes I get points, sometimes I dont, sometimes they stop adding up at deaths, sometimes they continue. But everytime I leave, they get reset to 0. Let's hope we wont have to deal with this for the entire weekend.
