Kind of would like to see a new primary for pyro that didn't just act like every other flamethrower. Maybe something along the lines of the Biogun from the unreal games perhaps? Something distinguishes itself and has it's own way of approaching enemies that is.
Give him a ice-thrower that slows or maybe even stuns people but has no after burn.
I like ice weapons, but no one would accept a weapon that impacts other players movement or controls at all in this game. Mei gets a lot of flack in Overwatch from having the ability to completely freeze players for easy headshots...
I like ice weapons, but no one would accept a weapon that impacts other players movement or controls at all in this game.
Natasha slow Sandman stun Getting knocked around by explosives, airblasts, sentries, FaN, etc The game is already full of crowd control.

Well, maybe not the Force-of-nature... I don't see that one get talked about that much. Maybe because I barely ever see scouts use it probably...
fan has always been airblast-levels of stupid but unlike the other stunners it actually has huge combat downsides and is just plain awkward to use, so people kinda excused it or forgot about it.
Yeah, and nobody likes the Natascha or Sandman for those reasons. Just because it's in the game doesn't mean it should be.
I like the Natascha for its damage resist. The slow part of the weapon makes me feel dirty though
Seems like I missed a lot of things. So what will the next update contain and when will it come out? What happened to the comic? What do you expect from the upcoming update? will it be as bad as the other updates?
Likely: Smissmas will involve a new campaign, complete with weapon skins, maps, and probably Festivizers. Possibly, but don't hold your breath: Smissmas will bring the new Pyro pack, containing a balance overhaul of the Pyro and new weapons. Date: Before Christmas. Probably next week. Comic: MIA, presumed killed by Dota 2 comics. Again. Sometime next year: The Jungle update, containing Jungle-themed cosmetics and maps. (Including some stuff from Mayann, possibly.)
Well as always, dont expect anything tonight. You can be confident next thursday, today would just be a neat surprise. Afterall, this could always happen
I'd rather it come out next week anyway so we don't get a repeat of halloween. It's sort of the golden rule of programming to never release something on a Friday, since it'll be a few days before it's fixed. [editline]16th December 2016[/editline]
Yeah, and nobody likes the Natascha or Sandman for those reasons. Just because it's in the game doesn't mean it should be.
Not to mention, would we want something like Mei added to tf2?
forgot to mention something, take your RS to an MGE server and tell me how many death threats you'll receive.
Seems like I missed a lot of things. So what will the next update contain and when will it come out? What happened to the comic? What do you expect from the upcoming update? will it be as bad as the other updates?
Next Update will contain a Campaign and Comp improvements. That's all we know for sure, however its INCREDIBLY likely to be the Pyro Update, too. It'll come out next week, when we don't know, but all dates but Friday are likely. There have also been speculated things about a new Server Browser. Comic is supposed to come before the end of the year, but dont hold your breath. I expect the Update to be great, but im a naive optimist.
I like the Natascha for its damage resist. The slow part of the weapon makes me feel dirty though
RIP full 20% damage resistance.
Seems like I missed a lot of things. So what will the next update contain and when will it come out? What happened to the comic? What do you expect from the upcoming update? will it be as bad as the other updates?
I'd place my bets on next Tuesday. That's just running based off the frequent dec 20th release and because I assume it'll include the pyro update, they'll probably want to release earlier in the week so they have more time to fix potential issues. Not that that's stopped them before from releasing on a friday and fucking right off for a week after a broken update. I just want matchmaking to be put into the state everybody hoped for before its release, a fair assortment of cosmetics (2 for each class not this 0 for sniper 10 for pyro bullshit), and some rebalances that will hopefully get rid of or majorly cut down the currently large pool of forgettable weapons.
So what will the next update contain and when will it come out?
Smissmass, Pyro Pack, New Campaign, New Skins, New Contracts, Big Rebalances (mostly to Pyro, in all likelihood) if not tonight, sometime next week. whether early or late next week is tough to pin down.
What happened to the comic?
Still in-progress. As of a few months ago, was said to hit before the end of the year. We have about two weeks to find out if that's true.
What do you expect from the upcoming update?
imo, things can only get better after mym, not worse
will it be as bad as the other updates?
if you mean mym, doubt it. if you mean gun mettle/tough break, those updates did nothing wrong. : (
Watch this be the first Smissmas that releases post Christmas.
if we had a "endearingly cynical" rating, I'd assign one to every one of your posts, exor
I'm interested to see how valve's fatigue affects smissmas, now that we've had a pretty good idea for the coming halloween years
I'm interested to see how valve's fatigue affects smissmas, now that we've had a pretty good idea for the coming halloween years
We've seen in multiple previous years they're fine with pushing the actual smissmas to the side in favor of content drops (mecha, tough break) and I expect the same this year
RIP full 20% damage resistance.
Yeah, I miss it too... More so on the Brass beast then the Natasha though, which could use it more honestly... Been meaning to ask you something, but I was toying around with a minigun idea for heavy and was wondering if the concept seem like it was worth any merit. Maybe a potential rework for brass beast which is still down there in terms of functionality compared to other miniguns. But I wanted to push for a more tank build type heavy, one where he tanks damage from the front better, but in return there's a little risk as he takes the more damage from the back. Also thinking about tossing in Immunities from the front from stuns ( sandman ) and possibly knock back resistance from the front as well? As for the performance on the gun itself, I haven't really started on how it kills in comparison to stock as of yet. Would someone who likes running heavy find any use out of a weapon like that? There resistances is around say 25 to 30% both ways I was thinking. Sides would probably have to stick to standard damage I'd think as well. Maybe a 10% damage reduction perhaps?

The real question is, are we gonna get festives?

Sides would probably have to stick to standard damage I'd think as well.
Potentially very interesting, but one issue could be that this ends up hard countering engineers if they lose the damage race that much faster for the resistance. I could see some issues with Vaccinator stacking too, in some places. I like the idea of emboldening flankers in counterplay, and yet simultaneously having something that helps break thicker blockades in stalemate-y situations, though. I think this is something I'd have to see in practice in some form before I could say 'yes' or 'no' to it, for what it's worth. There is also the issue of the Sniper match-up in general - I believe that a Heavy should always die to a full charge headshot - but Sniper himself is so full of problems due to his design that maybe those concerns are better addressed by going to the Sniper's design itself. On paper I could be down for something like this, though. I really hope any new ideas Valve has in mind think a bit more in terms of 'which class match-ups are affected by this,' but I suspect we'll see soon enough on that front.
I've had a few things I was thinking about lately and want your opinions about it, first to start off I'm in no way experienced on heavy, just had a thought of how would it be to revert all heavy nerfs, maybe a little buff to the minigun's accuracy, but add recoil to it?, that will make his gun harder to control, but allows you to be much more effective once you master the spray pattern. Also, about non-stock weapon skin argument that it makes it harder to tell the difference between weapons made me think, that is already a problem with all the weapons available and all the reskins, but I think visuals should not be what to rely on for such factor, sound is a much better indicator for that, why not make every weapon have a unique fire, reload and switch to sound?, that would be much better (like in CSGO), a good example is the quick fix, the loch n load and the rocket jumper, those are that much easier to identify, found it mostly effective on the rocket jumper, once you hear that sound when you're playing sniper on hightower, you better watch your ass (apologies for my london, on phone and my keyboard lags when charging)
If anything, the Pyro update is likely, and Smissmass is a possibility. It's probably just going to be a Tough Break/Mecha Update Smissmass combo.
I'm just referring to an update at Smissmas, not necessarily a Smissmas update.
RIP full 20% damage resistance.
Heavy is not allowed to have nice things.
Heavy is not allowed to have nice things.
They nerfed my favorite Heavy loadout to being borderline useless in pubs. Apparently the Buffalo Steak Sandvich is just too good compared to weapons like the Sandman and Reserve Shooter.
