I wasn't talking about Artifact, I was talking about Dota 2. Many people (especially here) have made it clear and obvious that they don't consider Dota 2 a "real game", despite it being the most popular and most played game on Steam (and a great game to test Source 2 on).
I consider Dota 2 a real game. But when they introduce Artifact, which is blatantly another attempt at a cash cow, it's frustrating.

DotA 2 gives you every hero for free, as a free to play game. The only stuff you pay for is the cosmetics or the major event Compendiums, nothing that influences actual gameplay. Now if you're talking about the crate and key system in CS:GO, then I can get your point. But at the same time I think making judgements on Artifact being exploitative is a little bit hasty considering what Valve has done with the DotA IP before.
If Dota 2 wasn't making money, they wouldn't have announced another Dota 2 game.
Just because it's making money doesn't make it a "cash cow". That makes it successful. Valve haven't done any particularly shady or scummy practices in regarding to DotA as far as I remember.
If Dota 2 wasn't making money, they wouldn't have announced another Dota 2 game.
I've heard that argument before. Hm.. Half-Life was successful and made Valve loads of money. So your point is they shouldn't make more Half-Life games either? I mean, what kind of company would make something that's free and not try to make money off of it? Even more, they see the opportunity and have everything in place to make something they want to make. Why not jump on that opportunity?

And you don't have to do scummy things in order for a product to make money. Half-Life makes money, but it's not a franchise that would make money no matter what.

If that's wrong, my bad, but I'm sure I've seen it used that way. Dota 2 would then be a non-exploitative cash cow.

The only thing I want from artifact is if there are ways to get the profitez. I probably won't give a crap about the cosmetics.
I'm excited to have a card game with actual trading since I imagine Steam trading will be a big part in it, and not having to open endless packs hoping I get what I want
As a Valve and Dota fan, I was severely let down. But I'm also a Valve and Dota fan, so once more information gets released of the game including game play and more in depth mechanic explanation, I'll get more excited then.
This video is relevant I guess...
New game not even realeaded and more content has been already revealed, 2 new heroes. Ez
I just kind of hope we'll finally get Source 2 with it... but it's probably on Unity or some stupid shit lmao
I mean, we do already have Source 2.

With all the insane prices set upon newly released items on PUBG on the community market I can just hear someone rubbing their hands together in a greed filled trance from seeing the words Valve and trading.
[T]https://i.imgur.com/7ynGSG6.jpg[/T] leek(?)
Already has been confirmed fake.
that's an excellent fake, though.
that's an excellent fake, though.
It looks pretty, but that design is a mess. It's almost like it's purposefully hard to read
It also feels like it's trying too hard to look different.

That is $72m in Valves pocket over one tournament so people can have cosmetics.
They forced us There was no other option

There's plenty of things out there that are made by people who are excited about what they're doing and happen to make lots of money, such as Dota. This isn't Shrek 4th Movie cash cow or anything by quite a large margin.
Dota 2 announced: "I WANTED A REAL VALVE GAME" "Wtf valve there's already HoN and League Of Legends" Turns into the highest value esport in the world Artifact announced "I WANTED A REAL VALVE GAME" "Wtf valve there's already Hearthstone and Gwent" Turns into ?, only time will tell

When you see them working on a card game like everyone else, regardless of history or whatever, they really are at the end of the day making ANOTHER card game, and I hope it's good! But. Still another card game. Pls just be better than Hearthstone that's all I ask for.
