You should probably focus on getting the figure right, then adding the clothes and details, to avoid getting some of the minor issues in this (Like the shoulder being too wide, or the belt not being tight enough)
I had to learn that the hard way.
Here, I started by drawing Spy's body, without any clothes, to make sure the pose and proportions are right

Then I added the clothes, because I had the sketch of the figure beneath it, I could make sure the clothes wrap around his body better.

Now I understand that you were doing it on paper, but you can still do that on paper, you can make the figure sketch with a very soft pencil and don't press on it too hard, then in the final sketch use something like B or a 2B pencil, to make the lines pop out, if any of the early sketch lines are visible you can try to erase them carefully.

That's right, always criticize your own art, it's how you improve.
Also do anatomy references, like bones and muscles and such. When I started it took me a whole year before I realized that cheekbones exist, and that was only after I did a reference of a skull.

I was making a dumb video about Heavy, and now I just realized how similar it is to one of FUNKe's videos since we both make a joke about the Brass Beast rewarding clever positioning, movement, and being good for ambushes. Fuck, now I'm not sure if I should continue. If I make it or not (I probably will), at least I'll always have this still.
