The hole is right there, I think the more appropriate question is how does he fire them if nothing seems to be connected to the trigger
that's what he's saying, there's no mechanism to make the pipes come out of the slot
that's what he's saying, there's no mechanism to make the pipes come out of the slot
No, he said and I quote:
How does the Demo even fire his grenades from the Grenade Launcher if it doesn't even have a hole to fire from :v:?
That being said if we're going to start asking questions about how the weapons work in TF2, where does the Scout get all of the ammo for his scattergun from if he just pumps the handle to reload? Same with the Demoman and his Sticky Launcher
No, he said and I quote: That being said if we're going to start asking questions about how the weapons work in TF2, where does the Scout get all of the ammo for his scattergun from if he just pumps the handle to reload? Same with the Demoman and his Sticky Launcher
I always assumed the drum held all 32 reserve rounds while 6 were loaded into 2 separate tubes built into the wooden fore grip. So after the 6 shots are depleted, scout pumps the lever to load six more shells from the drum into the 2 tube magazines. So the scout must have designed and built this jury rigged firearm, not because it was necessarily the most efficient, but because he new what he needed to fulfill his role as a speedy mercenary. Of course we must realize that one of the main premises of tf2, going all the way back to 2007 before mann co, was that the mercs built their primary weapons to suit their trade before ever being hired by RED or BLU. This was an awesome idea because it made them seem like they knew how to do the job and created their own weapons accordingly to fit their needs. It gave an impression that these guys had been doing this sort of thing forever and that this was just another paying job, never noticing the sinister and world threatening cold war tech they were often fighting near, in, or on in seemingly innocuous locales that were disguised as farms and factories. And then mann co came along and sold them everything and the mercs were no longer connected to their weapons in a meaningful character centered fashion, which is way less awesome.
that's what he's saying, there's no mechanism to make the pipes come out of the slot
I interpreted his question as "How do the bombs come out of the gun if there's no hole?", There is a connection between the barrel and the shaft (Is that what they're called?), so they can come out of the gun, but there's no visible mechanism that forces them out
Oh god what have i started? What i was asking was how does the Demoman even fire grenades if there is no hole right here:
The answer is that nobody was ever expected to see that in normal TF2, and it adds more detail in an otherwise unseen area, same with the Ambassador having no holes in certain spots too. The other answer is he is a good demoman.

The Grenade Launcher's trigger sets them off one by one, launching the grenades out of the barrel. Sure, traditional gunpowder-based mechanisms would probably do a better job, but when all you have is a huge pile of sticky bombs and whiskey, everything looks like a nail. Or something.
It's the blur effect I put on the characters in gimp to smooth out the pixels.
Render at a doubled resolution, so instead of 1280x720, do 2560x1440 and then just downscale it to 1280x720. That looks far better than a blurred image.

I personally like what it does so that's why I use it.

There's no holes there because that's the BACK of the grenade launcher, the holes are in the front.
:snip:
There's no holes there because that's the BACK of the grenade launcher, the holes are in the front.
Without a firing pin, there's nothing to actually trigger the grenades' primer and make them go.
How can our grenade launchers be real if our holes aren't real?

We can only assume that the firing mechanism goes through the connector from the top, but idk how that would work [editline]26th January 2016[/editline]
This thread for the last 15 posts... [t]http://i.imgur.com/o2HJ6eX.jpg[/t]
Considering the Grenade launchers are literally some of the least sensible weapons in the game after the Rocket launchers, I say it's about time people started questioning it.
first it has too many barrels now it has no firing mechanism how deep does this fucking rabbit hole go
first it has too many barrels now it has no firing mechanism how deep does this fucking rabbit hole go
It doesn't have an actual clamp to hold the barrel to the stock 0/10
Without a firing pin, there's nothing to actually trigger the grenades' primer and make them go.
There's no firing pin because there's no percussion cap. The grenades employ electronic firing. :smug:
I would complain about the Ambassador not having a hole to fire the bullets from, but i'm afraid i'll cause another chain reaction :worried:
TF2 Media v19: How Does He Do That?
How about the Minigun I mean does it ever reload
How does adding metal to a sandwich make it a different food?
The pipe launcher uses a form of ancient Scottish magic known as electromagnets.
this will probably make matters worse [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/544175696876772972/C8C4FF48EECE1126F90C9B4A64CC716E101C8281/[/t]
The weapons in this game make as much sense as Kylo Ren's crossguard lightsaber.
The shovel seems pretty grounded in reality.
Yeah, I dig how down to earth it is.
