I did some intense browser surfing looking through some old files when I remembered Shwiggan. The games are nothing alike aside from them both being FPS. I advice you not to look at the comments if you don't want to witness the salt mines (even from me).

The games are more similar than either camp wants to admit, but TF2 is not a broken game at base so all is fine.

I'm seriously sick of hearing it all the time that Overwatch killed TF2. Because you know, not like TF2 is still serving around 60,000 to 100,000 players daily or anything. While they share some common things between each other, they are still two completely different games.
