And it was made in VRay and 3DS Max, so there's some neat cloth folds happening as well

It's really cool how Nathan has been doing a ton of scout/TF2 stuff lately, what with his stream, his YT uploads, and now his in-game shenanigans, it's bringing a lot of attention to TF2 again.
Either he just really finds it fun or this is just a geniusly concocted scheme by the Valve Marketing and PR departments to get people interested in TF2.
Honestly this is one of the first times I actually smirked at a muselk video and I'm pretty sure its only because nathan is with him

or he's trying to make a living off his talents
i'm certain he finds it fun, but i mean he wants people to refer back to his stream when they see him doing the voice in videos, it's definitely a case of "it's not work if you enjoy it" (which is pretty cool if you ask me)
Yeah if you make a person do something, they won't be consistently coming up with comebacks like
"I didn't know you were so good at math"
"I can do anything up to 20. Applies to women, too."

This is a treasure for SFMers. So many unique scout voice lines

The music used in this video is amazing.
It's a bit annoying that none of the songs are listed in the description.

The song used just after Spy is shot is the theme song from the game Nuclear Throne.
Was the only one I recognised.

More SFM videos should use smear.
TF2 was designed to look cartoony, might as well animate it like so too.

Me and a friend had a conversation about this a while ago, where he said that even though TF2's aesthetic was meant to look cartoon-influenced, Valve's animations and character movement in their TF2 animations seemed fairly tame, not "super cartoony".
A while back the guy who did Dance Fortress 2 was asked to make some animations for Valve that used stretch & smear technique, but he said Valve rejected them because they didn't match their style.

Wow, they accepted the All/Multi-Class cosmetic changes but not these Dancing Taunts? C'mon Valve...
To be fair they are a bit unfitting for the game. They look like they're made of noodles and its all very floppy.
The Medic one is a prime example of that.
The guy went on to make Ori and Firewatch so I dont think he really cares.

It looks like Jesse baumgartner anim too, i really like it personally. But effectively it don't fit well the game, it's too.. fast? Floppy?
I'd say Heavy's the worst. All very well animated, but way too unfitting.

Reminds me a lot of Antoine Delak's Gmod Animations.
It just has that...floppiness about it which makes it look more like a Gmod animation (a well done one though) more than a TF2 taunt.
soldier noodle arms
So, I recently thought of the idea of making pics of loadouts I found funny/silly.

N-Notice me, M-Medic-sama!~
There are a few exceptions to the smear animation argument, particularly for Heavy (due to his odd proportions, most notably his legs and neck) and Pyro (since it fits his wildcard personality). The smears in question though are usually only seen for a frame or two rather than making the animation look loose and floppy
The one that comes to mind quickest is Pyro's headshot animation. It looks incredibly smooth in motion, but slowing it down frame-by-frame reveals it uses smearing to look fluid
