They would clip with items that cover over the bullets themselves, but that's something that would've been fixed with additional body groups.

Both had credible arguments. the main difference is the "glass half full versus glass half empty" argument. Kevin acknowledges that the update, while not smooth, is meant to pave way for a better longterm game. Raja acknowledges that there won't BE a longterm if the shortterm is this consistently choppy.
Valve's heart and mind are in the right place. But their efforts are not. They take half measures instead of full measures too much. Things get broken, things are delayed. I understand. but Valve has done it time. and time. and time. and time. and time again. Literally deciding to not release entire chunks of server searching purely because they 'didn't want to overwhelm the community'. choosing maps is overwhelming??? It's bullshit.
r/tf2 is, as kevin said, poorly informed and full of low effort opinions. but it's moronic to try and shove it off like it's worthless critiquing. Long queues SHOULD NOT EXTEND PAST THE FIRST 2 DAYS OF RELEASE. LOSING XP AFTER WINNING A GAME SHOULD NOT EXTEND PAST THE FIRST 2 DAYS OF RELEASE. LACK OF SEARCH FEATURES SHOULD NOT EXTEND PAST THE FIRST WEEK OF RELEASE. So tell me, does any of that matter in the 'long term'? Yes. Because if we allow it without backlash, it will happen again. and again. and again. and again. Valve IS out of touch. not as out of touch as raja thinks, but not as in touch as kevin thinks. Valve wants to listen, but they've ALWAYS prioritized doing it their way first above all else. In the longrun, yes the game will be better off. The bigger shame is how much skin the community is going to shed because of all the roadbumps "valve's way" will make. People getting tired of being left in the dark. Tired of grinding comp with no real reward, shitty search algorithms, extensive game bugs, and the only community member they're willing to talk to is b4nny. Yes b4nny knows more than anybody else about the game, but that doesn't mean differing opinions won't factor.
I think raja's irritation is completely justified, but i don't think he's educated enough on what the update will bring to make statements like "the game is worse now". meanwhile, I think kevin's optimism on valve trying to improve is justified, because they are trying, but I think he focused too much on trying to shift focus off the bad stuff. because the bad stuff IS very important, even if it's "short term".
