I've never heard of him before, so I thought the same thing. Labelling on the thumbnail or the title with something like "An Array of Talents - TF2 Gameplay and Commentary" would help prevent that confusion.
An easy fix for an annoying problem.
Or just don't assume that every SFM thumbnail = SFM. People used to use Garry's mod thumbnails for TF2 videos, and I never saw anybody complain about that.

Because normally you can tell it's GMod because it uses the Non-HWM models used in-game by default.
And also because normally it has that feeling of a slightly half-assed job to it.

To be fair, this video isn't exactly low quality relative to his past videos after patreon. I'd say it's even higher quality than the first Amazing Apartment vid, which was basically a few shots in the apartment map with minimal animation.

Except $300 a video, even if he made a video every other week, isn't enough for a living. He'd have to make at least 5 videos a month to be able to support himself.

Well you can set your Patreon to ask your Patreons for money over time or when content is released (with a money cap per user so you won't spend more than you want to per month or so) and he has it set to charge his Patreons every time he makes a video.
He has enough patreons that he makes $300 per video, so he'd make $1500 per month if he made 5 videos in a month. (Assuming the patreons don't have money caps to limit their monthly spending which they probably do.)
I wish I got paid $300 to make badly animated random sfm videos.

so can one technically earn money for making decent quality videos in patreon ? i mean $300 for a randumb video is a little overkill
