That demo doesn't look like one that could swing a sword
That's what they said when the eyelander first came out.
found this guy's stuff a few days ago, thought i might share it http://prospass.deviantart.com/
nice as those are, apart from the heavy, they all look too petite and oh so pretty to be mercenaries. Like soldier and engie's poses in particular scream female model, not trained killer. And Medic's haricut is so out of place it's ridiculous
[t]http://orig01.deviantart.net/edbc/f/2012/193/6/6/meet_the_scout_by_prospass-d56yyi2.jpg[/t]
this scout is cool and my favorite, not because it's game accurate (not intended to be) but it looks like it could be a protagonist of another game
I really hate TF2 art where they try to make female mercs, but then make them skinny and conventionally "attractive". The mercs are ugly, unattractive, beefy, stupid, psychopaths. That should be true whether they have a penis or not.
this scout is cool and my favorite, not because it's game accurate (not intended to be) but it looks like it could be a protagonist of another game
They really give me more of a Fallout vibe.
Like soldier and engie's poses in particular scream female model, not trained killer.
The Scout doesn't look like a trained killer at all. More like a Trained Killer's discount hit contract target. "Normally I'd charge more, but this guy looks like a douchebag and it's been a slow month."
The Scout doesn't look like a trained killer at all. No, it doesn't.
I always liked to think he was trained actually, between the softcap, dog tags, very deliberate trigger discipline with all his guns and military gear in concept images, i think he's been in the military for at least a short time. I knew a guy who joined up just so he could be paid to legally kill people, and that doesn't seem to unreasonable for scout Of course that all dates back to 2007, so yeehaw
The mercs are ugly, unattractive, beefy, stupid, psychopaths. I think posting some examples would be inappropriate here, but remember that these examples exist.

Yeah but if you were pretending, someone like scout wouldn't know shit about trigger discipline, and the fact that he's wearing military kit in concept images really makes me think that that was at least the intention at some point
I think the gritty style's great for the tf2 style but the women themselves don't have the "mercenary" feel for some of them. All the mercs in tf2 (barring scout and medic) have a sort of muscliness to them. But they all together are considered "physically fit" for a job like what they do. Alot of those girls seem too "modell-y" to be doing the jobs the mercs do.
Some people will try to prove you wrong on that statement. I think posting some examples would be inappropriate here, but remember that these examples exist.
I'm not gonna hate on people for shipping pairs of the mercs like Medic X Scout, or for being into bears like Heavy or whatever - what turns other people on is their business, not mine. That said, the mercs are by no means "conventionally attractive". Even the less "ugly" looking ones - like Sniper, Medic and Scout - are still more "average" looking than they are stereotypically good looking. To illustrate what I mean, here's a comparison. Spot the difference. [T]http://orig12.deviantart.net/b846/f/2012/313/7/2/sfm_poster__sexy_scout_by_patrickjr-d5kiq21.jpg[/T][T]https://tmoniquestephens.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/bigstock-portrait-of-a-sexy-muscular-ma-36532474.jpg[/T] Scout is a wimpy little runt with weasely facial features and bad hair. And that's a big part of what makes him Scout. It wouldn't make sense to have him be well toned with a strong jaw, striking features, and a trendy haircut. It wouldn't fit his character, or his place in the game world. The same qualities should apply to female versions of Scout. They need to retain the puny musculature and the dork-who-thinks-they're-cool fashion sense and overall appearance. They need to look like the youngest of seven kids who only survives by being the fastest, but who constantly and obsessively strives to appear tougher and more impressive and more remotely likeable than they really are. But what they absolutely should not be is "sexy", fashion-model-esque, stereotypically "good looking" bimbos wearing TF2 costumes.
It's pretty much canon, that scout is a weak child man, i mean look at the posters from doomsday_event
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CMUqfipUAAAiz5o.jpg:large[/t] Psychonauts x TF2
Did you draw that ? if not how about a source ?
Tracked down the origin point. http://kcdstudios.tumblr.com/post/25137511825/team-fortress-psychonauts Easy way to give credit for an image you don't know who made? Run it through google reverse image search. Typically you get a pretty good bead on the source if it's artwork. Photographs are a bit trickier sometimes, though.

Well really it should be the original poster doing the sourcing. But it all worked out, so no harm, no foul.

Anyone got a link to that video where the spy finds a clone warehouse and gets shot?
