TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station V6 - Year of the Guard Dog SURVEY IN OP

The real advantage is the movement speed increase. Spy is as quick as a Medic, so only Medic, Spy, and Scout disguises won't slow him down. That tiny boost is enough to get the stab sometimes, and you're not supposed to be seen more than a second or two anyway. Disguises were never intended to fool anyone for longer than that.
Quickie is a decent sidegrade to the Stock Stickybomb launcher while the Panic Attack really just depends on the class, it's more of a niche situational weapon but isnt entirely useless used as a secondary.
Panic Attack is literally worse in every single way. Don't even suggest that it's not entirely useless. It's objectively worse than the stock Shotgun in every single way, and any way it could be better is beaten out by the Stock Shotgun's actual non-garbage spread or RS's superiority.
and quickie makes you slightly better at 1vs1 whilst making you worse everywhere else than stock.
at least v1 quickie was great rip
Just sent 7 more bug reports to EricS. I have so many GitHub issues and email bug reports now.
I generally do it more because the scout has the smallest body, making it a bit easier to hide with if I have to decloak. I don't use disguises to fool anyone, I'd much rather them just not see me in general by keeping invisible.
I need to stop relying on the le'tranger though so much. If they ever decide to nerf it into the ground like all other useful spy unlocks then I'm going to have a marry time trying to adjust lol.
Something you probably never noticed, the Hitman's Heatmaker and Cleaner's carbine have normal muzzleflash even though they're suppressed.
You don't need Advanced Weaponizer to mess around with weapons, just SourceMod and various plugins/extensions.
Apparently, Jill no longer works on TF2. Enjoy this exciting news.
How did you find that out?
There are niche situations where it's better than the Shotgun for combos such as the Dragon's Fury + Panic Attack combo to quickly clean enemies off after two shots, so I wouldn't call it objectively worse.
Source?
He misunderstood something someone said. False alarm.
Jill pushed out an update to several Source games in 2017 and nobody said he's not working on TF2 anymore either.
Why are particles and lights really bright in cp_junction?
...AKA a situation where RS would be more useful because it doesn't have godawful spread?
To make particles actually brighter and not just making it seem like they are relatively (Junction is pretty dark), the only way to do that would be color correction.
The soldier halloween lines are the best ones in the update

No, because it has slower switch speed. The few miliseconds you save with the Panic Attack are important and given you'll be somewhat close with the DF either way it makes for a good combo weapon.
Why are you not just firing the DF in that case? Its entire gimmick is hitting somebody you already hit. You know, how it also has increased firerate after hitting an enemy?
Because certain targets are easy to miss such as Scouts. It's much saver to clean them off with the Panic Attack, and I even think it's ever so slightly faster due to the extremely fast switch speed than waiting for the third shot.
Seems like a really marginal advantage to give up a secondary over though.
Why would you use Shotgun with DF anyway?
It's an advantage so minute that I really don't understand why arguments for the weapon are even trying to be made.
It's bad. Its design is inherently flawed. Having more bullets means less damage over-all and that already makes it objectively worse. There are no classes wide enough that taking Panic Attack over any other shotgun would make sense. You'd have to deliberately gimp yourself to use the weapon. The only loadout I could see making sense is a Degreaser/Panic Attack combo, but even then, again, you're deliberately gimping yourself with that loadout. You lose upfront damage to have a slight chance of bursting somebody with two up-close weapons.
Panic Attack v1 maybe have been unwieldy to use, but at least it wasn't a straight downgrade in every single way except one very minor and very rare situation, where you're close enough to consistently hit an enemy with a first DF shot, but not accurate or skilled enough that you could hit the second shot, but you'd still prefer the very minor advantage of one shot coming out a millisecond faster with the PA, that the downsides of less over-all damage if you miss any pellets and a much wider and weaker spread wouldn't sway your decision.
Exactly. DF overlaps with any shotgun too much. You get much more use out of a Detonator or jetpack etc.
the real reason is because I used a war paint on it and now have an emotional connection
realistically speaking though it really isnt a strict downgrade, just a very situational gun, but youd probably be better off with the shotgun
No, it's definitely a strict downgrade.

because hitscan is reliable and because you don't want to be hard countered by DDS
God forbid you get into a melee fight with a Sniper as Pyro , you'll just insta-lose that fight
With a shotgun you are flexible to most second threats that might be taking part in your fight with the sniper
With melee out any class that joins the fight/joins it after you kill the sniper will clean you off while you look like a fool
