It could have normal switch speed, no holster time, and a reduced delay on jump and it would only then just be average.
TT has uses the detjump can't do though. but it surely takes time to get used to the timming it needs to effectively be able to jump in and out of situations. it its by no means a dive-in tool like rocket jumping so please do not jump into people or you will die.
Medicless Heavy? Are you mad? It doesn't enable that playstyle at all.
In my use, The TT is great with the back burner for a super aggressive flank. By angling the jump you can bring out your primary mid jump and minimise the window of switching weapons. For me personally, the TT has a lot of the perks of rocket jumping minus the sacrifice of health: you just need to be strategic about using it.
You can get a lot of horizontal air with the thruster, try jumping off something then activating it midair. You'll get a short hop and keep moving forward before the boost. This works really well on Harvest.
Well, they did do some filesize optimizations in this Update. Also, they changed weapon names.
While I can't speak for the cosmetics, most of the weapon models have undergone changes to more than just UV maps. For example: the degreaser now has a slightly higher polygon count (there are added details on the muffler and the pilot light is now a separate model). All of the war-paintable weapons also have an extra attachment point on them for the camera that renders the thumbnails called for by the WeaponSkin{} proxy, and another new bone called pedestal_0, which might be for previewing war paints from the inventory.
hit a milestone today https://i.imgur.com/azJShQS.png
either we are getting a patch tonight, the tf folk forgot about the medals or they are playing 8d chess
It's gotten worse. From people calling me a hacker/cheater in pubs for using Vaccinator to me being kicked for using vaccinator. Is this is how it feels to be the alpha male medic
And those are? Its slower at rolling out Its cant escape or jump on people Its incredibly clunky and doesnt allow for air straifing I don't see much use for it other than being good for bad players.
Being a fun niche weapon like the Chargin' Targe/Splendid Screen? Those weren't even considered viable unless you used the turn exploit
I really with the jetpack didn't have that awkward little hop-hang before blastoff. I can't even enjoy gimmicking around with it because it just feels so clunky start-to-finish.
Hate to double-post, but I don't think I can move quoted posts into edit boxes of previous posts, so Again, I tested this in-game, and again, you seemed to have missed the part where I said, as clear as possible, "If you hold M2 when you fire a Detonator for a det jump, you'll get a locked trajectory and a lower vertical height". There's no "the reason for the delay", that has no relation to what I said. If I fucked something up in testing then so be it, if you have proof that you tested then so be it, but I went in-game and practiced the Det jumps, and every time I got higher vertically just shooting it at my feet than holding M2, which locked my trajectory forward at about a 60 degree angle. I'm getting a strong "didn't read what I said" vibe, and, let's just say we're lucky enjoy writing, or there'd be nothing to any of these discussions besides handing out a dozen "Bad Reading" stamps.
Demoknight still isn't really viable. Not really a strong comparison to make me like the weapon
As someone who really isn't focused on competitive and more focused on just having fun, the hot hand is incredibly fun even if it is just kinda bad. Same kinda goes for demoknight or just other "bad" weapons. It's actually kind of incredible to get kills with these "bad" weapons
I'm not trying to make you like the weapon, and I wasn't arguing that it was viable.
You can totally escape and engage with the Jetpack, there is a difference between whipping it out in the middle of the fight and getting to cover and then fucking off.
I still rock the Demopan loadout for shits and giggles. Most don't know what it is but the occasional guy going "oh shit, old meme" makes my day.
it's quite possible to engage with JP but you just gotta aim higher so that the switch speed is negated by the time it takes for you to fall back down. there's no reason you can't escape with the JP since there's no switch-to penalty. learn to use it. JP gives the height of a rocketjump, no self dmg, negates nearly all fall, and can easily be comboed for another immediate use, "something that detonator can only dream of doing" "dragon's fury has no range advantage" lol ok https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/920292854142009792/CB635ADF71C50E2465D0AC633A7EA04D402671D1/
Pretty sure that initial hop with the Thruster is there so you have a small period to change your trajectory.
Are you testing with 256Hu jumps? Those are entirely possible and consistent with immedaite self-dets but I'm pretty sure they're not possible with surface jumps. Delayed self dets are necessary to get the most height out of the detonator, but immediate self dets are still better than surface dets.
Thermal Thruster has an mvm upgrade that lets you use your second charge in midair and I wonder why they didn't just give it to the weapon in the first place
when you hold down M2, it explodes the moment it leaves the weapon, but it isn't like in normal explosive jump, because it explodes inside you, near the middle of your body, not under it, it's great to do horizontal jumps, or jump then det jump in another direction, think wall jumping vs shooting right below you
Any tf2-specific c++ code is not going to be legally available to you.
if you use the TT to strickly travel vertically, you're bound to waste your jump. the TT is all about travel distance and speed. You can travel from house to house in harvest in a pinch and ambush almost everyone as they rush to the second floor. you'd be dead by the time you tried to do this with the detonator either by enemy fire or by your own selfdamage. as i mentioned before, the TT has uses that cover what a proper det jump wouldn't allow you to do so, but much like careless det jumping will have its cost and halve 25% of your health the TT enforces you to commit even more to your flanking options as you lack a secondary. if the TT ever gets a small buff in the holster speed so you can deploy your primary as you fall, then by all means it would allow for an even more aggresive gameplay. the TT has a degree of airstraffing, tho. not to the point you can spiral into something above you, but it certainly doesnt lock you into a defined trajectory.
Are you sure? I can get 256 jumps with instant detting, but can't with surface jumps.
Do you think they'll ever fix that bug where you can see player shadows through thin walls?
as much chance as fixing all the env_soundscape bugs (none)
What soundscape bugs?
