TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station V6 - Year of the Guard Dog SURVEY IN OP

But he still reported it overall though, right?
Smelled a little witchhunt-y, tbh.
You might say that, but go actually boot up casual and notice that all the servers are either half empty or dead, because there aren't enough skill groups in valve's imaginary bell curve to allow something like this to work properly.
I'd rather have servers alive with a diverse mix of skill levels, than to have to wait 15 minutes to be put into a 5v3 payload map- but with players of "equal" skill.
r/tf2 in a nutshell.
New update adding so much great content.
Talk about exploits? Nope.
Talk about problems with the update? Nope.
Talk about the balance issues? Nope.
Hat got It's pin removed? Ascended
Speaking of the TF Team did Jill ever migrate his FP account?
God forbid people are happy about getting an update.
Honestly for me this whole hat situation's kinda confusing for me now.
Seems to not have been Viper (the person claimed to be a thief)
"What evidence do you have that it's Vipes? I've known the guy and he doesn't seem the type to do that, especially given he submitted a Kamen Rider set for Scout to the workshop. Sounds like you're pointing fingers with no real grounds for it."
"4chan memed that it was Vipes, even though the guy also has a Killer Queen hat in his workshop. Now Vipes is claiming credit because he feels denying it won't work, and /tf2g/ is having a hoot about it."
Source
I mean people are probably talking about the hat since it's kinda strange that the TF2 team suddenly cares about cosmetics being based on licensed source material when they never have in the past (except for when it's their own ip's like the half life items)
plus its a hat based on a very popular series with a lot of fans so of course there's going to be an outcry
Reddit is drowning out the important community feedback about this update with meme content ya dingus.
I mean they always do, and they voted to repeal the rule about it, but that was literally the point of the post.
That's how reddit works though. It'd be like going on 4chan expecting people that aren't anonymous and then getting upset because people can post anonymously there.
Also I told you he'd do it.

It wasn't always like that. We had a community that wasn't completely flooded by memes and fandom content. Even the workshop and now game are full of it.
Surely we can have higher standards than that?
Some horrible ideas for a Gas Passer buff:
The gas corrodes bullets and explosives so it removes any reserve ammo you have
Makes Engie buildings burn
Bring the explode on ignite to pvp
You get set on fire by firing a weapon while covered in the gas
One possibly decent one:
Gives a passive health bonus, like the Battalion's Backup
The jojo hat doesn’t offend me as much as it makes me worried about some sort of litigation. Valve would most likely win any such case, but it would distract them from their other projects, including TF2. Also, I have no reason to believe that the jojo people would actually do such a thing, but the possibility is disconcerting.
The mario hat has been confusing to me ever since it’s addition, since it was originally marked as incompatible on the workshop, correct? So at some point, someone at valve thought it was too close to the source to be fair use, but they later changed their minds or left?
can't have passive health increase without the item being visible on the character
I think one of the issues is that the tf2 subreddit admins don't even enforce some rules.
One of their rules prohibit cookie cutter memes, but the whole front page is full of them. I posted a bug report involving unusuals and it was downvoted to hell, meanwhile jojo hat meme #3654 is +500
The worst part is that jojo references are a meme unto themselves.
Oh yeah remembered that after, maybe it could be strapped to the pyro's back
Can anyone help test any TF2 bugs on Valve's github that have the "need retest" label after the update?
People going nuts about those new hats, all posts I see on that subreddit is nothing but hats pretty much.
I don't even care that they added the new case, I fucking love the update and all fixes and additions.
I have played TF2 for over half a decade and have never once opened a crate or case. TF2 has never been a war themed hat simulator to me - it's the best multiplayer FPS ever made. And despite the new hats, this update prioritized gameplay, so that makes it a clear winner to me.
/r/tf2 mods are shit. I've seen them remove many posts that were silly, but not low effort memes and in fact had a point to make about the game. Conversely, the absolute DRECK they let float to the top of that subreddit is stupefying in both its atrociousness and its inanity.
Wickedplayer is a r/tf2 mod.
I can't wait to actually play a comp match and have it count for something, past 3 have ended because someone left at the start.
Except remember the shamwow guy meme became so prevalent in being compared to scout that they had Nathan Vetterlein record lines that were spoofing the infomercial.
TF2 has always had a very humor centric fanbase, so much so that valve made official voice lines to acknowledge it
Im genuinely baffled that they added another eagle to the game. Its nothing against pet items or anything, but I really really dont get it.
It looks near identical to the one already in-game. Like, was it just a mistake? Did they just not check?
They don't check, not the first item added that's very similar to another. One time a contributor made a hat for Pyro also usable by the Sniper as a joke to see because the contributor thought they wouldn't let Sniper equip it since it doesn't fit him at all, and they let it happen.
You can never have too many eagles.
The low effort meme rule used to be enforced. One fateful day, the mods lifted it for some event. After restoring the rule, the users rebelled until the mods backed off.
I think maybe add the stat that fire damage to gas covered enemies does mini-crits so it will better synergize with the flame-thrower.
