TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station V6 - Year of the Guard Dog SURVEY IN OP

That's indirect profit. The easier it is to trade items the healthier the economy is in general, which leads to more direct profit.
Does the new short circuit energy ball delete dragon's fury fireballs?
There is currently information floating around that not only did the TF Team get new developers, but that they actually have a new dev lead. Said information can be found in this and this video.
We discussed this in a bit in the FP Discord and TC asked Mecha - Creator of the second video - for his source. He said Uncle Dane and Soundsmith brought it up on twitter, however upon further investigation you can't find any tweets of both of them mentioning that. Upon asking for further proof the answer that was received was :
"I can't seem to find them, All I remember is that I was in a thing with Teal, He said that the TF Team had gotten new members and people like Dane and B4nny now get early access to the new update the new dev team are tossing out"
Teal is the dude that made the first video. Upon asking Dane however about this the answer received was:
"I dont know who Mechawreck is, but I have never hinted towards there being new devs, nor have any of us had any early access to any update."
Backpedaling to Mecha about this, he answered:
"I might have worded it wrong. What I meant was, Soundsmith told Teal and then Teal told me that there were new dev's added to the team. I personally do not know anything myself on the new devs "If there even are any" but I was told that there were new devs. The thing that ties Dane into it, Is that the Soundsmith said people like Dane and B4nny would get early access. As for the twitter thing, I saw something on Twitter the other day on the wereabouts of the dev's, but I can't find it anywhere. Like to be 100% honest, I have no idea if the team actually has new members, I was just taking Opal and Soundsmith's words a wee bit too far up. Nor do I know if that tweet was real or not, It was just the first thing I saw in my feed yesterday."
So essentially, it all loops back to Soundsmith as the source of information according to Mecha, so if anyone can contact him about this that would be great because I'm personally raising an eyebrow on this entire ordeal.
Maybe, but if it's as bad at it as deleting direct hit rockets you might as well not bother.
Healthy economy? Healthy economy being dominated 95% by bot sites and real-life trading? Do you think Valve is profiting from that? Absolutely not lmao.
Now if only they fixed the broken rotating skyboxes on 2fort (and other maps?)
you better quote your sources to ask for something like that. because if its reddit, then i got bad news for you.
A bit late, but Exor, you're really in no place to talk about whether a discussion is meaningful or not.
That's not what a healthy economy is. That's your personal experience trying to sell something. You're looking in the wrong place if you can't find quickbuyers, that's been automated too.
Automation has lead to a vast improvement in the volume of goods being exchanged and consumer convenience. A larger volume of goods circulating more freely. That's a healthy economy.
Okay, where does the "Valve making profit out of this" part come which is what I am on about?
by stimulating the market, people will be more inclined to buy keys or cosmetics if they can then go and use them in trading. As long as there's a market, there's also gonna be people buying keys or crates/cases which valve does directly profit from.
Custom ratings for subforums are probably still a long way off, but I went ahead and tried my hand at making a gibus rating for adorably naive/hopelessly cliche posts. The TF2 "dumb."

and for the even smaller, even lighter ones on the right.
Maximizing immediate profit is an incredibly short sighted goal. Gotta look at the big picture: they own this economy. If the item economy grows, so does their game and associated profits.
Trying to capture all profits it generates leads to no competition, inhibited growth, and they're the only ones servicing it. By allowing others to have a slice of the pie, those other parties become invested in supporting and growing the economy, which leads to increasing profits on Valve's end. It's a symbiotic relationship.
So, it's not just casual and community servers that are suffering from crashes: Mann vs Machine seems to be broken right now as well. Some friends and I were playing the advanced mission "Bavarian Botbash," and twice the server crashed during the second wave. We just gave up and are waiting until the mode is patched.
Implementing trade delays in tf2 would be the death of it
Can you email tf2 team just in case and voice this concern? You know, just to make sure that won't happen.
I've emailed them a number of times with long essays on important issues. Never gotten a response to any of those emails.
If you actually read the posts, you'd realize that those behaviors are what was being discussed, as they don't help the economy and we don't know why valve chose to do so. The user was pointing out that the restrictions limit the profit valve receives from skin sales for some unknown reason. The poster is claiming that valve has either made these restrictions for reasons other than the economy or have misunderstood the role of the external sites in keeping interest in the game's skin market, not that valve is actively trying to benefit the economy.
You can do it yourself, you know. The more emails they get that TF2 players really dont want this the more likely they are going to be aware of the issue.
Found something interesting after two crashes in the last wave of Bavarian Botbash: shooting a tank with any sniper rifle crashes the server.
Tested it out further in a listen server, and it causes the whole client to crash instantly, without any warning.

Write a bug report here please.
i don't know why valve is so committed to trying to "stop" scamming by putting in delays in the first place. Is it not enough that they put disclaimers in the trades? Shouldn't that and mentions in the TOS allow them to wipe their hands of any scam affairs? At what point do you just go "alright, it's just human stupidity, we aren't actively helping in any way with all these changes"?
they likely get tens thousands of "help me" requests via email and steam support
I felt like opinions on game's economy by Geel would be valued by them much more for obvious reasons.

Does anyone know if the second style for the private muncher was implemented or not? I don't see it on loadout.tf or tfmv. I'm not willing to spend two bucks just to find out either. I'm only interested if I can use the second style.
Is Two Cities still the most profitable tour?
technically its mecha engine ticket-wise and also technically you're better off buying aus from market
but yes
Yes, but it's only really profitable if you get a good professional fabricator or an australium.
iirc most of the specialized kits sell for only $2 at best
well I honestly dont give a fuck but my friend is pestering me to play with him cause he has 2 never used tickets so I want to make sure it's worth my time
what's the best strategy nowadays?
