Also after the update anything using the old source UI (options, server browser) is bugged. With any window that opens another window, you can't access dropdown menus in the second window. Like if you opened options and went to advanced video options, you can't access the dropdowns for the settings.

Yeah that stat is weird and not even all that useful. Jarate takes 20 seconds to recharge so 1 second less isn't hugely useful (and don't give me that "every second counts in battle" crap please, it barely applies here). Then there's how the rifle clearly has a "No Headshots" stat displayed, but then it also has "minicrits on headshots" which means it CAN headshot... But if you headshot someone, instead of the headshot kill icon you get minicrit sydney sleeper. I mean what the fuck, I clearly headshot him, give me the headshot icon dammit.
I tested again because of the disagree and it's not bugged, weird.
Anyone else experiencing a bug where if you have a tier 2 or higher casual badge is shows up as a tier 1 one on the scoreboard? My friend I queue with has a tier 2 but his shows up as almost level 1.

Ignore the scale, it only represents a drop of ~30,000 refined. Still, it's a sustained drop, the first one TF2 has had in years. Keys had their crazy plummet and subsequent recorrection back up, but since then they've been steadily declining in terms of refined value.

what happened in jan 17 that had such a drastic impact?
regarding the whole 7 day cooldown fiasco with CSGO, the TF2 team has been listening to the community recently (as shown by the revert on the Starboard Crusader, the Random crits survey and the 3/28 update in general) so i doubt they'd look at the shitstorm that CSGO update has created and say "yeah no we should implement this".

I dont know if they should implement anything regarding rewards for comp. I remember Jeff from Overwatch mentioning it was the team's biggest regret with making their competitive system. bringing in rewards brings in a bunch of begrudging players, thus then increasing toxicity, and thus repelling players. Of course Overwatch is a different game itself, so it's possible TF2 could bring different results.
There are unused strings for a wait estimate for casual mm: quick, moderate, and long.
nothing create more toxic players than having the losing side be salty not just from losing but from not getting an item

*taint the purity of this game's arena shooter DNA, where skill and only skill determined who won the engagement.

I just realized that the TF team is probably switching to csgo's update release schedule.
I thought it was weird how this update was sort of major but it had no update page or fanfare. Then I realized that that's csgo's model: large feature updates every so often, and less commonly real major updates with an operation and skins.
Honestly, this update was really nice. I'd be okay with fewer "major" updates with campaigns and pages if it meant more frequent feature updates.
