buying facepunch coins 10 keys each this is not a scam rate me with coin now
Something that could possibly help with performance, I noticed that there's a "software" DirectX level and a "hardware" DirectX level, the software one doesn't change with DX level, maybe it's not using the optimizations of the higher DX9 levels? Though it could just as well hurt performance, I don't know.
They should put the female character models in normal clothes and put the bikinis as elite grade cosmetics to maximize profits.
Give the male character models speedos as the lower grade cosmetics in the same case so everyone is swimming in them as they try to get the female swimsuits.
Works for me.
casual seems to be in a much better spot now, been playing for a few hours, everyone knew what they were doing, matches were somewhat balanced at least, actually set up defenses around the cart, it was really fun, all I want now is SDR support so when I connect to a server it actually connects, that is the main problem that drove me away from playing for quite a while, every time I lose connection, it takes forever to connect to GC, forever to find a game and when it's found I can't connect to the server, or view info of any valve server, history tab empty, until I restart steam, sometimes multiple times.
I haven't been this content and happy with the state of TF2 in a long time.
I've still never played Competitive mode. I don't see the point of it. Who is it appealing to? Certainly not the average player, they see it as Casual mode but worse due to games being half filled, no map selection, and longer queue times. Certainly not actual competitive players, due to the lack of important class and weapon restrictions.
It's going to be a ghost town again in a few weeks once the new hype for the ranking system dies down, if it isn't already.
Some ancient issues have been fixed recently, stickybomb charge sound, teletraps, dustbowl skybox, pose parameters, slow bypass trick.
No, it doesn't count queueing players as it has no way of knowing that information.
The slow bypass trick still works.
update: i got to play my first comp match. it turned into a 6v5 ctf_turbine, until people started to quit as the server was looking for someone else. by the time it was a 3v2, someone mentioned that the game would fill the gap with bots, to wich we agreed to just play.
we ended winning 3-1, enemy team members said we were "hard carried by the bots" and refused to match again.
i just refused to queue for this shit 3 days and just jumped in my regular hightower community server.
If there were class/weapon restrictions it'd be even more of a straight downgrade.
competitive players: hey guys competitive mode doesn't have anything we like about competitive tf2, it kind of sucks
you fucking people: this
Either Valve needs to properly balance weapons, or we need at least a pick/ban system.
well excuse me for wanting to play the game with all its advertised features
Competitive TF2 needs to be balanced, not shafted.
Speaking of texture hinting, I cannot find that post of vJill thanks to the new forum (he didn't migrate and has 0 posts in his history). Used search and everything. Did anyone find it?
Dude, the fallacy stuff was all you. You accused me of something, but would not provide evidence for any of the accusations even when asked. You then basically complained that I didn't blindly believe what you were saying.
It looked like you were either retarded, lying, or arguing in bad faith.
Certainly wrong. Who is it appealing to? Anyone that's interested in competitive - including average players that just want to play a more serious version of TF2 and real competitive players that wanna play something even just *resembling* comp outside of hours where websites like tf2pl or serveme are just too darn slow or underpopulated.
The big bummer is the current queue time mess, because the actual games are really fun. Once they fix that, I only expect a steady rise in playernumbers. Obviously issues like map selection, class limits etc. exist - however these are far from a deal breaker.
Having won 4 Comp matches, I have to agree. It's really fun, but I wish queue times weren't so long.
If the surveys I have seen are any indication of the average player (which they should be given their sample size), a majority of players are going to be in favor of them.
I am not going to get my hopes up though.
One thing to note is that we don't actually know what they are going to do with the data they receive from this.
Another reason why I think its fair to believe that it is primarily the queue system that is absolutely fucking us over atm is because I recall the numbers shown of people queueing and actually being in-game pre-patch where actually higher, despite the fact that the system was shit back then.
What is wrong with RNG stuff in a skill based game? Consider Dota 2 for example.
I'm not sure why you brought up poker, because it also revolves heavily around player skill.
You seriously bring up Dota 2 again after we told you the difference between TF2's randomness and DOTA's randomness...
What do you consider the important differences to be?
It's true though, don't compare dota to a first person shooter lmao.
What he said was basically that RNG does not belong in a skill based game.
While Dota 2 is not the same as TF2, it is still a skill based game which is what he was making his point about. So the line the of comparison should still be valid.
can the next thread have a banner that brightly says "DONT RESPOND"
No point in discussing random crits with ASIC when the most we ever got out of him was that he likes random crits, a couple of polls and that's it
Try anything else and you get ignored or everything becomes a question
What proof is there that what you say about me is accurate in regards to the past?
It's really not an accurate description in regards to this immediate discussion.
