Someone made a list of balance changes for the weapons banned in 6s. Google docs link
Interesting things include reducing damage with range when the BASE Jumper is deployed; making Scout drinks, milk, cleaver, and Jarate charge like the Gas Passer; adding a 30% damage penalty when Soda Popper hype is used; adding 50% less ammo and damage for the Pocket Pistol; making it so that you build Jarate shots with the Sleeper with damage. But a really interesting one is a nerf for the Solemn Vow, so that enemies also see your health and Uber if you equip it.

making everything shit is not the best way.
making everything shit is not the best way.
Yeah it's rather harsh, for the Pocket Pistol how about remove the faster firing speed and bump the mag size down to 8?
edit: just wanted to hear you all's thoughts on the changes

PP needs a new design, that's all.
if you wanna heal as scout so bad then you pick milk.

I guess the faster speed of the BFB and healing of the PP were meant to make a loner scout playstyle?
I guess the faster speed of the BFB and healing of the PP were meant to make a loner scout playstyle?
the two have had nothing to do with each other for years.
making everything shit is not the best way.
Not the best way, but fixes the issue.
the two have had nothing to do with each other for years.
Not now, but when the Public Enemy set came out, and that's maybe why it still has the healing ability (since valve seems adamant to keep weapons aspects unless they're fundamentally unbalanced like the vita-saw)

Even on release they had nothing to do with each other. Nor did any other set of weapons from that update. Hell, most weapons released in sets have absolutely nothing to do with one another from a gameplay perspective.
Also the Pocket Pistol had fall damage immunity as it's main feature to accompany a health bonus for reasons unknown. Health on hit is a really new feature and also has little to do with Baby Face's Blaster so even that sentiment falls apart.

Oops forgot that that was the original weapon, thought it started with the +3 on hit, must have been added in gun mettle as it was buffed to +5 in tough break, my bad

what if it refilled your primary's clip on kill, but had a much slower reload or something?
Not the best way, but fixes the issue.
Yeah, nuking stuff generally solves any associated issues.
Except it, y'know, doesn't leave much to enjoy.
How about we get some of these maps in our tf2 server?

I remember playing boulder so much on the custom server I ran back in 2011-2012.
such a fun map, even better with the neon anihilator

The first entry alone shows that this is a person who doesn't actually understand why these bans exist and has taken steps to solve issues that don't exist. Doesn't matter how well-intended an idea is if it's going in the wrong direction.

I remember there was an Australian server that had redfort on it quite a bit, but sometimes the server would bug out and not apply medieval mode resulting in an absolute clusterfuck.
Good times.
What do you want from TF2 in 2018? guess I'll list in descending order of importance
Finished, working competitive mode
Team switching and any other features CSGO casual has that TF2's doesn't
New Heavy stuff
Better performance and paint load times
Add the new Steam VGUI improvements (dpi scaling and less cpu used when redrawing the ui)
Add Steam Audio/HRTF
War paint workshop tools
Backport Source 2's dev tools
Upgrade the lighting to the Portal 2/CSGO branch lighting

Your list covered a ton of stuff I wanted, even things I didn't knew I needed (like, Steam VGUI improvements). I would love to see more achievements linked to unlocks. Contract system slowly replacing random drops. NoSpread in Casual Servers, and an insight into the Team Fortress 2 office in the Valve HQ, something like "Meet the People behind the game".

Doing something about the bad pyro flames is number 1 with a bullet.
Some party system stuff:
Allow parties to opt into the possibility of splitting between teams.
Show on scoreboard if people are in a party with a little icon or something.
Allow inviting people into a party just from the scoreboard with a click or two.
Allow friends to quickly join your party and server if space is available.
Allow parties up to 12 players (maybe even 24) only if they be split between teams.
Make parties just get one vote in kick-votes so 6 bots won't be immune.
I'd also like something new for Halloween this year.
All I expect is performance. But I don't know how much they can do with the engine at this point.
Feels strange to go from being able to use at least the default video settings to relly on custom cfg after 2 updates. I bet for the next update I will have the game running like it were rendered by a nintendo 64.
Let us join through game info instead of being forced into a party with our friends.

Oh yeah fixing flames is the number 1 thing at the moment, the rest could come in a major update

So you know how the bread jarate reskin travels longer because it's thrown with the same force, but the models larger? Can objects in Source also have mass? I think someone suggested adding more mass to the Loch-n-Load grenades to make them travel further without increasing the speed.
edit: though they would travel further anyway since they don't tumble in the air
So is there a Titanium Tank thread or do we just post here? I played it today since it quietly launched with no announcement post.
Would be nice for it to get some exposure since you can win a badge for doing all 6 missions.

Oh I thought you were talking about a world of tanks event or something lol (TF wiki says you get the medal for playing in potato's mvm events)
Add Steam Audio/HRTF
The Windows version of TF2 uses the Miles sound system which does not support HRTF. However, because both of the OpenGL ports use OpenAL for their sound, HRTF can be enabled by updating the version of the library that Steam ships with and a couple other tweaks. This works for other (though not all) Source games and is particularly helpful in L4D2 where elevation often plays a stronger role in gameplay.
So ironically, when in every other aspect the original DirectX version of TF2 is superior, the OpenGL ports have the advantage of HRTF. Apparently CSGO received full HRTF treatment in 2016 but I couldn't find much technical information about it besides people complaining over CPU usage spikes and how it sounds in-game.
I want a Watch Tab where I can view live competitive matches the way I can with Dota after Comp MM gets fixed. TF2 is fun as hell to watch, and I'd love a more streamlined experience for viewing it. Just give comp servers STV that goes live to the Watch Tab when the match does. I also want some kind of Valve sponsored major to be announced with comp MM. Basically just make the experience closer to Dota and CS. They did so much right and they're missing a big opportunity not supporting TF2.
I really like Casual MM, but I'd rather have Casual 6s and Competitive 6s with a Quickplay Option first and foremost on the menu to play 12v12 with end-of-map scrambles brought back. Make the "official" experience as close to competitive as possible, but keep easy access to the Casual we all love while bringing back community servers.
So I've got my computer up and running. No issues. TF2 runs pretty much as perfectly as possible.
Have to say, don't recommend jumping into a TF2Center lobby after not really playing for 5 months, especially on a map you don't know very well (in this case sunshine).

I made a mission for that event, it wasn't one of the winning missions though. I'm not sure what it's final rating is, since hydrogen is still doing that. It had some issues.
The winning missions are mentioned somewhere here (and you can see your progress on the fan-tour):

I can only ever see community servers being brought back if they bother to review servers that are eligible for a "vanilla" experience, and servers that obviously don't fit the bill are still availabe in a server browser
