You asked if it necessary to talk about random crits? I didn't start the discussion, and there were several other people talking earlier about it (despite the feedback question existing). They are the ones who started the discussion. This question shouldn't really just be aimed at me, there are other people who you should ask it to as well. I'll answer anyways. I would say no, the discussion here is not redundant. The feedback option is limited to how much you like the random crits, and it doesn't function the same as talking to other people. Sure threadshitting happens, but part of what I was trying to say is that you shouldn't really blame me for it. You can have your beliefs on someone being stupid. The question that is it really ok to share that type of opinion in public if you are not willing to back it up? Is it alright if I start doing it too?

Scorch shot makes me wanna kms whenever I play against a pyro with it, especially as sniper. Detonator is for big brained powers who don't want to rely on cheap bullshit.

imo the ignite time should be based on if you landed a direct hit or not, and be like 1/3rd or 1/2th if you get a miss-hit.

Yea cuz the Sydney sleeper requires more skill to use right? false equivalency lol Also if snipers give you trouble as heavy, crouching a lot at random intervals can help mitigate the issue with them. Make sure you don't follow a pattern and do it in between moving.

you seem to have misconstrued my piss taking of your dumb post as an actual invitation for argument. I can assure you that it is not and I was simply taking the piss.
One change I would make to pyro in a heartbeat is to allow only the Mannmelter and the Phlog itself to built mmph. I suspect that Valve considered this idea but found it too difficult to code. flame damage is flame damage, regardless of the source. Even the sodding Sharpened Volcano Fragment builds mmph.
That's the same reason I use the det + mobility tbh I think the detonator is better vs snipers, since they usually have higher ground meaning there's less area for a scorch shot flare to impact, whereas the airburst of a det flare can get 'em wherever there's a sightline.
I use either stock shotgun if I need the extra killing power for either enemy Pyros or Soldiers, or I use the jetpack for everything else.
I either use jetpack or detonator depending on how wide open the map is, and I've said it before and I'll say it again, the scorch shot is the detonator if the detonator was set to easy mode
I'm rather doubtful it would be "too difficult". Simply check for fire damage that was dealt by X weapon, then add that damage to the Mmmph meter. If it can be done via Sourcemod by a plugin, then it should absolutely be possible to implement into the game itself.
It's Easter Monday, however that's not a federal holiday so a patch today is possible.
