also teamwork.tf has some more data on valve comp matches Competitive Statistics
Was CS:GO's competitive mode this underwhelming in the beginning?
cs's competitive mode had a properly functioning mm so I wouldnt compare em
If comp were to give rewards, it should be the same amount whether you win or lose to reduce the toxicity. And add vote kicking for idlers or throwers trying to farm comp rewards.
That's really weird, I've just met a hacker, who shot crit stickies/pipes every 2-3 shots. Never seen that before.
who started this friendly shit?it's so annoying, especially when they call you a tryhard and votekick you just because you want to play the fucking game
Even the devs don't understand friendlies.
The true Goldmember.
Atleast they're good for ranking up your stranges.
I'd rather do it on legit players.
Someone gotta destroy those friendlies.
I mean, those friendly heavies are most of the times free healthpacks tho.
Well if you kill them and they haven't put away their sandvich it's still free health iirc.
Friendlies are just a side of the freedom you can enjoy in tf2, even with it being almost exclusively pvp.
Hey Fluury it's me your long lost brother from America.
There's something nostalgic about people forming an informal truce and/or avoid standard gameplay to have a Sandvich picnic, or do a tauntkill war, or get 12 sentries in the intel room, or do a sniper rush, or make a giant conga line. The problem is that the novelty of those has worn thin and people don't find it as entertaining as it used to be. TF2 is a lot less social than it used to be. Community servers are struggling to draw an audience if not shut down entirely. Those places are where you'd get to know people, become friends with them, sometimes they'd have alltalk enabled so everyone's able to talk at once or just gravetalk so you can hear your team casually chew the fat then the person you had just killed gets passive-aggressive at you because they were autobalanced and thrust into your team's conversation. These places where where non-standard gameplay shines: when you're in company with good friends who want to take a break from mercilessly killing one another to have a makeshift holiday. You can't get that experience in matchmaking because there's no camaraderie, there's no weight behind these interpersonal interactions, and frankly so much time has passed that seeing someone Spycrab for the thousandth time has lost any sense of charm and instead comes off as infantile as they try to emulate something that was long before their time in an attempt to understand what made it entertaining in the first place.
Apparently the you'll get placed in Death Merchant if you win 10 games with a neutral or positive KD in all the games you won. https://kek.gg/i/6mdb_k.png Source, may be bs, that was that account's first post and they joined reddit today.
time to farm as scout for one round and then switch to med for the rest then
I was checking the Community Fads page on the TF2 Wiki since friendlies were mentioned. I could recognize all of the fads until I found... who? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1823/0dac7c0d-c4ff-419f-b2f2-6128126f047e/image.png Ah, yes, the original velociraptor character which every TF2 player (apparently) can recognize.
I feel like if you stay in touch with most of the community g-modders then it'd be more obvious who this is. Rappy is a commonly re-occurring character of Dr.Face's creation which gets involved in a lot of other gmod animations due to collabs and what all else.
you don't recognize our lord and savior rappy? burn the heathen
"Went on a community fad page and found....this community fad? So weird!! "
There's a source to that one. you should heck that so you'd be aware of that one.
I see, thank you for enlightening me, I just never saw this character at all, ever, not even alluded to by anyone else I've ever met, the source video just yelled Gmod random humor that I've grown out of (not that this justifies my ignorance, nor I'm dismissing the quality of the video) and since I felt like I've played TF2 for quite a while, I thought I'd know these kinds of things.
The GRU and Eviction Notice got stealth fixed/nerfed in the Blue Moon update, source The old trick was that if a heavy drew the GRU or Eviction Notice and was then healed by a medic, the overheal would properly follow the heavy’s health at 150%. However, if you switched away to your other weapons, your health would immediately go to 300 no matter what your health was before. It would spasm between 300 and 305, with the medigun clearly trying to overheal but interacting strangely with the max health restoring. This would in turn cause uber to build at the fastest possible rate as the medigun thinks it is healing a wounded target as it is not at max overheal because it’s being prevented from reaching it. The interaction would remain for exactly as long as it would have taken the heavy’s health to return to 300 after swapping to the minigun, and you could keep it permanent by rapidly swapping between the GRU and minigun. It goes without saying this was incredibly powerful, as the medigun (especially the kritzkrieg) could build very fast even in downtime - to the point where a coordinated combo could have an Uber ready for each and every fight where the Heavy would not survive without Uber. As well as this, it practically fully negated the only downside of the GRU. In Blue Moon, this has been fixed - overheal is now counted as being at 150% throughout the restoration of the heavy’s maximum health, and follows it at the exact same rate. Therefore, Uber builds at the rate of a fully overhealed target (IE: halved) through the duration of the GRU’s effect. Not to say the GRU is terrible now or anything - contrary to many heavy players, I believe it to be just as powerful as during MYM as long as you think carefully about when to draw it and when to put it away. Its also has a new use that was impractical before; in the words of Big Joey Slap-Nuts: “It’s an Escape Plan on steroids. Use it like one.”
it was years, years ago. it was just a minor popular character in a small series. nobody is judging you if you're not well versed in every single tf2 media produced ever.
he's not that far off base. 90% of ''community fad' reffers to longrunning tf2 memes that are easily identifiable, and then out of nowhere there's some obscure gmod character (2 counting brutal sniper). It's pretty blatantly obvious somebody who was a fan of those things went and added them in, and despite their non-comparable relevancy were left in anyways. It's all memes so accordingly there's not much reason to care if it's added.
I want one, but I'd be crying a well as I want to get an original in every variant that's possible to get... The only one I'm lacking is a community one... =X
I looked at the Revolver model and it seems like they could get the cylinder rotating again without breaking skins, the bone at the center of the cylinder is still there.
submit it to github
