When did DX7 support get dropped?
Probably when Windows XP was released, I'd imagine
I'm posititve I remember seeing a way to get DX7 in TF2.
You could kind of force it in to 7 but none of the UI works and many props are invisible

The thread says the missing props makes it banned in comp.
im pretty sure they are getting clews to having a big update soon. I know they have been silent on it, but last i heard, (two months ago or so?) they are still working on it, and working on some new ideas. The site recently changed to be a neat tease, so i think something big is coming
Usually they make a few things just as backup incase they want to incorporate them later, they wont have to go back and re create similar things.
soon....im so close to finishing pyroland. It's gonna be all finished and we can finally have pyroland to its fullest; im very excited.
Should the Quickiebomb be split into two weapons?
New Quickie would have faster det time, less clip size, and bomb fizzling
New other launcher would have the damage increase with charge and faster charge rate
Also @Curly Bill, will Pyroland have new textures for the jungle maps and Mercenary Park?
i think there should def be a focus on what the quickiebombs niche is. So far i can only tell if it's suppose to be a fast charge weapon to help with long distance attacks, liek for sentrys and such, but it's def an odd weapon.
there will be a few new textures for certain props that are used in many maps, such as the huge nuclear missles, and trains; Merc Park has a few issues with pyroland for some reason, whereas doorways are walls you cant see thru (only map that does it, not sure why) as well as having the big stinking mural on the wall that is high quality, and im not sure how i would replace that picture myself as i am not very skilled. The other jungle maps however, will be fully Pyroland Textured. However this is all under the understanding ill be able to figure out certain files that use dx80 specifications, as certain lights lose their pyroland texutes when having a selfilluminated or relfective properties. it's odd.
Overall when im finished, it will make all maps that are currently 60% textured, like 2fort or dustbowl, and other maps with 0% support from pyroland, into 97% textured.
Will all the trees and foliage be pink
@ Quickiebomb launcher suggestion: No.
Quickiebomb launcher is fine in its current state. It offers a nice alternative to people who want a more aggressive Stickybomb launcher.
haha, depends. im debating on what to do with forrest pine trees, as they are in different enviroments. Im debating over pink, purple, white or dark green to match the forresty grass.
I'm truly not sure. I've had to self learn all these tricks and such myself thru valve deveolper forums, and experiementing, so this is all a first for me, in these texture files and modding all togehter.
I'll be opening a thread for Pyro vision suggestions soon when i have more to present, and i'm looking for neat ideas and such
Do you mean the texture of the light fixture or the light its emitting? (sorry if this is dumb)
haha yes I too love to play aggressively
*pours self a tall glass of -15% damage penalty*
Would you prefer 80-90 damage stickies that detonate as soon as the Demo wants? The damage penalty is necessary IMO, Stickies are probably one of the most annoying aspects of the game to deal with.
haha ur fine. The texture of the fixture itself, the light it emits is fine, but for some reason the fixture itself loses it's pyroland texture and uses default texture when it emits light. It's odd, as ill see some will be Pyroland texture, and others without it.
Actually are lights in Source a texture or just something you control the color and intensity of. Can lights have regions of different color at the same time?
Also Canteen Crasher got featured in the TF2 News section! It mentions that the entries will be hosted on potato's servers on MvM's birthday, August 15th. I know they don't write the news entries I don't think, but still a bit weird to see MvM's birthday mentioned.

haha i feel like a celebrity heheh
lights themselves i think are something u control the color and intesity of, not so much a texture i think. But yeah what i was reffering to was the lamp posts, or walllight fixtures and such that do use textures.
hello yes that's me
It's a weird weapon because the damage varies so wildly almost solely based on whether you let them hit a surface first and whether you have time to charge the shots. The tightened splash radius paired with the lower damage output means you need to spend most of your shots just to kill a modestly-healthy class.
The lower clip size means it's not as effective for busting sentry nests and is worse in prolonged fights and controlling space, the lower damage means its worse for trapping (and if you bother to charge your shots for that it just takes longer to set up). It's just really awkward to use and you'll catch yourself in trouble because you need to reload so often compared to stock.
Question: How do you guys get the Random Crit Survey? I haven't gotten it once.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAzgv1jTAc4
Ran into a cheater today, one of it's kind this time.
He seems to be able to fire an entire clip at once, and his stickies detonate automatically whenever an enemy gets in proximity.
Has anyone seen this type of hacks before?
I have, however it was a Scout wielding pocket pistol emptying an entire clip in quick succession with pinpoint accuracy and reloading insanely quick.
Probably the same cheats used for that instant cap bullshit.
Speaking of hackers (and I know I shouldn't bring them up, and I apologize for doing so), but that one hacker Twilight Sparkle is apparently quitting TF2 because "oh no i can't play TF2 on my main or other accounts. feel bad for me pls." in a new video. If this is true that they're quitting then fucking finally. The TF Community doesn't need their pathetic face being seen in any servers anymore.
It just happens randomly after a match like the rate the map/match survey.
uh fuck no that stupid thing still can destroy stickies effortlessly
There's an odd bug related to the Gloves of Running Urgently that seems to trigger at random. While damaged, in the event that the GRU are actively equipped, your health will sometimes drop to "1" for a split second, which will soon transition to 300 HP with an overheal effect visible on your HUD. In this time, you have a hidden well of health beyond 450 HP. I haven't been able to determine precisely how much health you're granted, but it does eventually dissipate.
A ref sink might not be necessary at this point.
Be better to patch the problem of metal being farmed first anyway. Getting rid of that will have a bigger impact in the long run, and if done correctly I feel it could benefit in other ways as well.
Biggest one I want to see happen is turning timed drops into weekly contracts. Giving people a simple set of randomized contracts that anyone can complete in casual to receive an item drop off their lists. If the contracts are well implemented though, you can also use it as a potential basic tutorial and means to have people try out different classes and events in order to shoot for their weekly loot as well. Potentially helping newer players get better at the game. Since contracts given out are randomized on what they'll need to do to fulfill them, botting them would probably be relatively difficult to actually set up and get working. Not to mention keeping it to casual matches so you can't just easily fly through contracts farming them with friends to sort of cheat them.
Pretty good, although that might have the risk of having class imbalances with the contracts, such as 4 snipers on a team doing a contract which has happened to me sometimes.
Keeping them simple might help with that, at least a little... They're more of an incentive to give other classes a shot as well
