Also, y'all still remember this gem? https://i.imgur.com/pd2JEvN.png Out of pure desperation I contacted Eric about this. Not expecting anything given it really is just an incredibly minor issue about my favorite skin, I checked the folder yesterday and.. https://i.imgur.com/djrswi6.png Obviously not confirmation that it'll get fixed, but its raising my hopes alright.
Was just casually opening two crates thinking "Eh, I have spare change in my steam wallet wallet, why not..." Best decision I've made in a while... https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2444767883796846932/5C9AE484BADE81F26E5E10F7161F5E5CD279CE44/
tbh i would pay top dollar $$$ if they made the attack pack paintable https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/208625/8350558c-ed09-420d-b23a-5d46e48908c9/image.png
I love this cosmetic, It's such a huge shame It's for spy.
if the style option to not have the stat clock, i might start investing in weapon skins
That reminds me. I don't have a picture handy right now, but the stat tracker on the Tomislav is applied upside-down
The stat clock is what I love the most about the skin stranges.
I honestly think I'd blame the map design more then the class itself. If done well, Engineers will still have a place to do what they need to get done, but it will be notibly bad to stack engineers and not have other classes that can support them when needed. At least when it comes to a lot of CTF maps that is...
leaked desing for the strange hot hand http://www.glovetime.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/glove299.jpg
normal stranges should be also able to have the statclock on them, toggleable with styles
they couldve just set their profile private before doesnt change much
More decorated weapons that get have things that get covered by stat clocks, source https://i.redd.it/whs3tm24var01.png
Before many hackers either had no games other than TF2 or their profile set to private. Now by default everyone has their game library hidden so it's much harder to know if they just didn't change their settings on purpose or not. Also this change is horrible for screwing over Steamspy, which is really sad because you could get a lot of interesting information from that site.
So I did another fix, this time to one of my old items the deep cover operator: Deep Cover Operator (fix) https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/298483550020173825/433673582053425153/unknown.png I fixed the vmt settings and did a few little polishin touches to the texture
A private profile is partial kick grounds for cheating suspects in our servers. If you really are that good at say, sniper, you'd have nothing to hide. This update makes identifying cheaters that much harder and is terrible for statistics-based anticheat implementation.
time to finally buy a strange fn killer bee now
This unfortunately seems like a situation where someone is going to be screwed over no matter what Valve does.
So many of the stat clock locations are just really really stupid.
i've recently developed the opinion that private profile options should be disabled if you've received a ban, strike or whatever on any game. conversely, there's the rare instances of people who have cheated, and no longer do, and just sort of want to be left alone in solitude. but i'm pretty sure a majority of the people who use private profile settings are hiding something, as opposed to just wanting to be left alone, or have no interest in the social aspect of online gaming/steam.
So I joined a pub server the first thing I heard on voicechat was "Yeah.. Votekick Chris" and a vote was put up. Why? I was a sniper. "I wanna win today." Both the person in question and her husband sounded like two adults in their late 30's. Is this seriously what this game is coming too? Toxicity because of a team comp in pub servers? thankfully the team voted no (twice, I might add) and they stormed off out of the game on the last point of dustbowl. Of course, this resulted in red coming to spawncamp us and honestly, after all that I didn't feel like playing.
Hiding people's game stats by default is a fantastically bad idea. It punishes those who operate and play on community servers, as well as playwrs on Valve servers wanting to find out more about someone suspicious. It penalizes non-retards in attempt to stop bad actors. It's a completely Valve/10 solution. It's also a gift TO cheaters. It's now a more difficult prospect to determine if a player is legit. Previously, the removal of QuickPlay, and the introduction of the party system/matchmaking was a gift to cheaters. There's also the issue of the removal of spectate on Valve servers. Valve seems dead set to remove any metrics we might use to determine if a player is legit or cheating. Maybe they'll hide strange counts by default next (they did a half-assed version of that years ago as a ham fisted way to prevent the "australium/australian" bait and switch scam." As a community server operator for over 4 years, I'm jaded in a way that only a select few can be at Valve's Twin Forces of Incompetence and Malice (little did we know that Gaben uses his $1M milling machine to make his own Hanlon's Razor.) This recent change still managed to surprise me. Maybe next week they'll delete the server browser and give TF2 CS:GO's 1 week traded item hold.
They apparently have supported SteamSpy publicly in the past, guess this another situation brought from the lack of internal communication. Also does it affect Steam's own achievement stats. Also it seems like Valve devs except Jill don't understand or want community servers. Can't even have them at all in Dota 2.
People on Casual get mad really fast. Don't really understand why.
Probably happened because of the
because of the what. THE WHAT?
It's not just Valve. Any tech company that deals in the EU is making similar changes thanks to GDPR ( Key Changes with the General Data Protection Regulation ) which is coming into effect May 25th. A relevant tidbit is that any person must consent to have their data shared by opting in or via affirmative action. Slipping it into an EULA or having a pre-ticked checkbox will not be considered consent. It's being taken very seriously because of the penalties attached: "...breach of GDPR can be fined up to 4% of annual global turnover or €20 Million (whichever is greater)." No company wants to be the one caught and sacrificed to be made an example of.
Someone got a 28 day comp ban for their first abandon (crash while loading), and Jill offered to look at their profile.
