Also I think it's really weird that the effect isn't being able to burn the ground that has gas on it.
Froyotech has become the first TF2 team to break $100,000 in winnings https://i.imgur.com/fZJQlGF.png
wasn't the issue with the replay system that the video codec they used to render them was no longer suported?
Replays need Apple's Quicktime, which hasn't been supported on Windows for like two or three years and is a security vulnerability. But they don't change it because the person who made replays doesn't work on the team or maybe at Valve anymore.
Couldn't you just modify the existing demo system and interface a little bit and just do pretty much everything replays could with demos?
Couldn't they try making it run on another application?
that takes actual work
On Linux you were forced to use the WebM format for videos. QuickTime wasn't even an option IIRC. I believe the issue was more that it took up a player slot and hogged up a lot of server resources.
Soundscapes keep playing when demos are paused, is this an old issue?
Well you can convert a demo file into a replay file and do the replay stuff but its kinda buggy (freecam is broken on default) and its somewhat unstable.
Oh boy, I was kicked again for "hacking" on Casual. Hooray for Glicko?
What does Glicko have to do with dumb teammates? If all it does is make the teams more balanced then yer still gonna get them.
I love HiGPS's videos, i thought i knew everything about the game, yet watching that specific video proved me wrong. People seem to hate him because he's a casual player and has different opinions. Maybe that's why his channel never took off?
No one hates him. His channel doesnt take off because most of his videos are 40 minute long demo reviews which most people simply don't have the attention-span or interest in.
Something really strange about HiGPS videos is their style: back when I was watching a few of his videos, seeing how he dragged elements to the screen, pressing buttons to play airhorns, the fullscreen facecam and their unedited nature made me feel that they were stream VODs. As a result, the videos look pretty unpolished and lazily made, and his analysis reviews could benefit of having their fluff cut through editing while using portions of the demos to prove a point instead of playing the full thing. His "Techs" video proves he uses some editing program to indeed cut the unnecesary parts, but otherwise a lot of his videos are uncut. It could be an intentional move to gain YouTube revenue, as 40-minute videos means that there would be more ads playing, but that kind of style benefits much more from streaming on Twitch instead by gaining subscribers and bits (after and if he gets approved by Twitch to be a partner). He's not a bad YouTuber and he makes some worthwhile content, but 40-minute analysis videos are something that a lot of people would just treat like a podcast to listen to (which is not a bad thing). All in all, I don't think there's a good reason to make weird livestream-esque-but-not-really 40-minute videos to put on YouTube when there's already good livestream platforms that are much better for his kind of style, and considering the potential viewer interaction he could get out of it other than by user-submitted demos, I don't see why livestreaming would be a bad idea for him.
Not all of his videos.
I did say most not all. As far as the rest goes; Not really. Several Youtubers create TF2 videos around game mechanics and weapons and get just the same amount of views.
Yeah, but those YouTubers ( I guess you're talking about Uncle Dance, etc ) also make alot of casual videos too I guess.
He actually streams on YouTube then posts those streams as ~40 mins long videos on his channel. Why doesn't he just make all of his videos from the ground up? I don't know, maybe he thinks extended videos are more informative and "in-depth"? But hey, at least his long videos are actually funny and there are some pretty interesting "tips and tricks" he talks about -when analyzing demos- that are not worth a video on their own.
Had a few fun matches in Competitive, then got the lovely hacker duo Gumm and fdg in my team. They blocked the spawn doors in the first round, then aimbotted in the second. Of course though, the enemy team won. (As the time for them to defend in Round 2 was very little because we didn't cap anything.)
I could tell that the 2nd account is a cheater even with my eyes closed.
Don't link cheaters and their profiles. These people have nothing going on in their life and live to actually get some level of attention and "fame", even if it's negative.
I mean, reporting them won't hurt, right? I know Steam report button is absolutely useless, but who knows.
It shouldn't matter as long as nobody comments there and if they don't know I put links of their profiles here. I do that so they can be reported. I agree it would be a bad idea to post in other communities like Reddit. fdg also has the main acc which has expensive items and a screenshot showing him being in the global leaderboards of Pre-JI Comp. VALVe should definitely at least manually ban these accounts. Steam Community
They'll get hit by the next vac wave either way; If you are this desperate you can contact the TF2 developers since they are repeat offenders. You don't get their retarded mindset; Alone just getting banned by a steam moderator must be exciting for them; Someone at Valve paid attention to me, how exciting..! Why do you think Cheaters get so loud when they get manually banned? Same reason why some keep a list of "quotes". These are literally basement dwellers the likes of /r9k/. Don't feed them.
That's actually not even his main account (talking about fdg) So far i've encountered him at least 20 times since the beginning of the beta of competitive mode. At first he stood in the spawn rancho relaxing for the entire match (angry post submitted by an angry guy [me] back then), then he started cheating with amby/sniper and now he's also using this door spawn cheat. He was also in the top 100 global leaderboard at least 4 times with the same name. Anyway, on an unrelated note: i just got ranked with my secondary account because my primary account keeps getting +0 MMR after each win. I noticed that even if i wasn't level 3 i could still play competitive.
The reason you keep getting 0 MMR on your main is because you are mostly fighting placement match players. Once there are more ranks out there you'll go back to gaining MMR, even though I think a minimum that isnt 0 should be in place.
How do I get in contact with TF2Team about [VALVe] scumbags, they haven't been banned for like a year now.
Yes i'm aware of that. However in the last 15 matches won with my main account i got +0 MMR for each one of them (I am Executioner 1). Also, for each lose i got -1. It was not like that before. (I was Contract Killer 3, got promoted to Executioner 2 and then got demoted to Executioner 1) On the secondary account, instead, i get ~+15 MMR each win and i'm just one rank less (Contract Killer 3) Not saying it's bugged or something, but in the meantime i'm just sticking with my secondary account
Email them..?
