valve most likely has alot of TF2 esque chars that would be a goldmine for SFMers. but it'll just rot away like the rest.
But why tho? Can only think of three reasons Don't want porn of them (doubt they care) They just don't care at all/don't want to put in effort (whatever effort that may be if the models are done) Whoever the modeller is is incredibly protective of their work and don't want "normal" people to get access to it

Surely Valve is aware their reputation isn't the best now, they would get a big rep boost if they actually communicated and did stuff like releasing assets. What if the reason for Valve's percieved lack of care is that they just put all their effort into things like Mannpower or things that never get released.
About easy reputation boosts, Uncle Dane tweeted a week or so ago about the fact that the Valve TF2 shop is not selling any hats. Or not that many "cosmetics" for that matter. Just a ton of different mousepads of mercenary faces. That "#1 Sniper"-mug (on that asset list a few posts up ^) would be sick, too. Just a lot of missed opporturnities. Also I just love posters, and having a poster of a TF2 in-game ad-poster would be just amazing. Or actually decent posters for that matter, the few wrench ads are neato but... I just want more, more of everything! Why can't they be more of a sellout?
They do have a lot of Meet your Match update merch. Valve could make so much more money from TF2 if they really wanted to.

Source? Also the "not making as much money because of how valve works" isn't just TF2 specific. CSGO gets new cases rarely, and the operations are slowing down in a similar way to the TF2 comics. Even Steam could make more money if they stopped the flood of crap blocking people from seeing new good games. Their only product that gets regular content (as regular as valve content can be) is Dota 2, because of the battle passes/dota plus, and the International's compendiums.

Getting that great QoL update makes me hopeful for more QoL and tweaks updates. While there were always QoL changes scattered in the history of the game, it was way too little and slow. We'll probably see more updates with important bugfixes, competitive tweaks, and hopefully optimization and visual issues fixing.
Can anyone record a demo with the casual/comp end screen and see if it makes them crash? Reported it on github
How bad would be to add a spellcaster as a temporary, fontline support class only available for the Halloween season? Turning the concept of spells into a support character *fits* (barely) as excuse to mess with possible new content for the next Halloween. I enjoyed merasmissions but after 2016 and 2017 being the same I would like to see something different this year.
Something kind of funny, when they added demo support to replace P-REC they added an option to record either all games, official comp games, or games with mp_tournement 1. Probably meant for unofficial comp games, but casual has used mp_tournament 1 since the start to the option doesn't work as probably intended.

My favorite change to this update has been making the Casual HUD universal. It has made tracking player advantages and Uber advantages so much easier than it used to be. No more fucking memorizing who is playing what class, no need to disrupt your experience by holding down TAB to check everything, just a quick glance upward can tell you everything you need to know. It's made my experience playing competitive games, especially on TF2PL, so much easier. I'm currently trying to get back into Highlander, and I'm looking forward to seeing how much a coordinated team that plays together regularly can benefit from these changes.
It does make DR even worse since people don't even need to use their ears or the painfully obvious feign corpses to know if he feigned since he'll "respawn" super fast in the HUD. Then again, DR is sometimes bugged where he actually will get an instant respawn, just at the spawnroom. It's a mess.
Trade.tf told me there was an update, but i don't see any
tbh that doesn't super bother me, mostly because I don't even know how you'd fix that problem + people almost never think spies are dead nowadays anyways the only people smart enough to keep an eye on the HUD to verify that the Spy is dead already didn't buy the feign to begin with, so it's not a huge downside, at least not in my opinion
It's more of the sentiment that the HUD, something that is 100% not within the Spy's control, is spoiling one of his tools. Like Medic's heal ping working on disguised spies that the Medic has never actually laid eyes upon, or the wallhacks on-spawn revealing "teammates" in odd locations or spontaneously appearing, or bodygroups not being rendered, or disguises carrying the wrong weapon, or disguises not matching the alleged movement speed (GRU, eviction notice, escape plan, powerjack), and the list goes on. Just because this one instance is inconsequential because it's the DR, doesn't invalidate how layers upon layers of quality of life changes have interfered with trying to play spy through no fault of his own.
Possible solution to the DR hud issue, make the scoreboard/match hud track the Spy normally until feigning with the DR, then it tracks the fake corpse as "dead" for as long as it would take to respawn.
Of course not, I complained about the disguised Spy outlines/Medic pinging in this very thread as well. I actually posted a whole list of oversights and bugs that have plagued the Spy since post-launch. To fix this particular bug, what if Spy got a light buff by making his death status invisible in the HUD? ie, portrait remains blacked-out, doesn't get a timer, checking the scoreboard will always show him as alive even if he's not...

No. The RPS loss is effectively a taunt kill, and stock uber will protect against it. QF/Vax will not.

Technically, it is open to community translation; they just never add any of the strings to the game or let you switch to it.
