Probably a troll but this is a bit sad if true.
FalconHBFS won the FN plaid potshotter skullcutter. I hate this skin with a passion.
Septimus01 won the BS backwoods flamethrower. This weapon is also cursed.
GlutenFree won the FT smalltown revolver. The best skins make your gun look like a toy.
I'm out of items to raffle. I'm surprised I sold most of the items in my backpack and raised only ~$20. Serves me right for not buying an unusual.

Thanks, fella! I just made a Scottish-themed Demoman set, and the skullcutter will look gorgeous with it <3
Why was Romevision added? One of the most bizarre random things Valve has done. (was thinking about this a bit ago but was reminded of it since someone in game on 2fort was talking about wanting an aphrodite pyro set)

Promotional item for pre-ordering Total War: Rome II. It is weird who thought of it and why. I pre-ordered Rome II back then and while I was still reeling from the sheer train wreck that was it's launch I decided to try out TF2.

due to valve's great business model it's pointless to try to decipher their meaning. nothing makes sense anywhere.

All that effort making high quality roman models of the robots, the tank, and the big tank, just strange.

Every megacorp's business model bones the consumer by design, that's just capitalism.
Valve's one just happens to suck the least.

rome vision content is community made.
the effort went into secretly making all bot loadouts have them equip the rome hats and then jerry-rig it further so it's hidden or not depending both on clientsides options and the actual forced cosmetics of a bot.
The medic chariot bot is so cool it feels like it's worth the effort to me.

For all we know someone on the TF team was a big Total War fan and worked with Sega to make the promo happen.

The TF Team used to put a lot of effort into their promotional materials. The Adult Swim promos don't really make much sense in the TF Universe, but there was that scrapped TF2 cartoon that was in discussions but ultimately cancelled, instead giving TF2 some commercial time and references within their shows. Adult Swim got some awareness within TF2 and vice versa.
Total War: Rome is by Sega, and released in 2013 which implemented the promo items and Romevision. Another Sega game released for PCs in 2013 was Sega and Sonic All-Stars Racing: Transformed. Heavy, Pyro, and Spy all make appearances as one of the racers, with a boat, go-kart, and plane respectively. They also have a pretty fucking good all-star theme that is just a loop of the TF2 theme. So again, like with Adult Swim, Sega promoted TF2 and TF2 promoted Sega... even if the TF2 characters are only available in the Steam release, and most Steam players being aware of TF2 already.
Although, I would have much rather preferred Sonic's shoes as a cosmetic for Scout and Knuckles' gloves as a melee for Heavy instead of the Rome cosmetics, even if they would look god-awful.
Sonic Team is really strict about how Sonic stuff gets used, so that wasn't going to be an option.
I wish that they would've also allowed Romevision to be activated in the .pop file like Halloween
I don't get it, what's wrong with Romevision? It's cool
I wish that they would've also allowed Romevision to be activated in the .pop file like Halloween
An alternative would be manually adding the cosmetics onto the bots. All pieces of them are technically items. It wouldn't add the Romevision tank or anything, but still.
Item schema definition 30143 would be the Demo armor and 30144 the hat. 30145 and 30146 being Engineer's armor and hat, and so on. Internally it's in pairs and goes from Demo, Engineer, Heavy, Medic, Pyro, Scout, Sniper, Soldier, and finally Spy. 30161 would be the Sentry Buster.
I still even now have my fingers crossed for a spring cleaning update where the tf team just focuses on removing visual/game bugs, improving performance, and finally getting tf2's infamous spaghetti code unraveled into something the valve devs won't turn their heads and spit at
making shotgun shells eject at the correct side would be nice too
How it feels like to play TF2 in 2018

The strangest part of the shotgun weirdness is how Engie's shotgun only has the shell extractor open

perfectly sums up my existence
I'm genuinely getting sick of getting fucked over by random crits because valve can't change a 1 to a 0
I'm genuinely getting sick of getting fucked over by random crits because valve can't change a 1 to a 0
it got to a point maybe 2 years ago when I got to a level of skill where I died very rarely but I can say with absolute certainty that 90% of the deaths that did occur were by random crits
I'm genuinely getting sick of getting fucked over by random crits because valve can't change a 1 to a 0
Probably because they're too afraid of the backlash from those dolts who think random crits is an essential part of the game balance.
Probably because they're too afraid of the backlash from those dolts who think random crits is an essential part of the game balance.
literally all random crits do is give pubstompers another layer of insurance in case they fuck up, but they have to stay because some pubstar killing 4 people with a random crit sticky is so haha funne XD
What if MvM upgrades worked like contracts? Like, buying one upgrade unlocks a branch to another upgrade, and some upgrades are blocked off by star requirements.
Would that refresh MvM enough to make people want to play it again?
the randomcrit debate wouldnt exist if we had a competent comp mode

It'd certainly be a double-edged sword. If the contract-like upgrades are new, then certainly. If not, it might sour a lot of people's opinions on the gamemode, especially if the system breaks the meta.

I dislike it just as much when I kill people with random crits. I always felt it was like valve was forcefully holding my hand saying "here, let me give you a hand" when I didn't need help in the first place. Top scoring in pubs isn't even remotely hard and I already pretty laid back when I play as is so I don't scare people off...
Can I just say, I hate the overall increase in strength to airblast.
Simply moving to the side of a pyro before he airblasts classifies as 'running away' and sends you halfway down the map.
If you're not suicide rushing the Pyro it's always insane amounts of knockback.
All they really had to do was make airblast a cone and not a big box, change airblast to not apply a fixed momentum and instead add it onto the existing momentum of the victim.
But they had to twiddle with it more didn't they, and sadly it's gonna be a change they won't tweak, it'll stay...

My idea there would be some upgrades accessible without stars, and some blocked off. Upgrades could be blocked off by:
1. The upgrade being on a certain branch,
2. The upgrade requires a number of stars,
3. A combination of both of the above.
Each upgrade point could be a star generated that could be placed toward any star requirement. I realize there is certainly a possibility of "cheesing" stars (upgrading health on kill for melee to get easy stars), but that's money you could have used on a canteen or buyback. That, or the requirement for stars could be reasonably low. Or, they could not even be implemented!
I was thinking contract-like upgrade trees could easily make way for interesting side upgrades, like increasing the duration of Heavy's Rage or Medic's Shield while keeping the upgrade itself at a low level, adding extra max health under body upgrades, or just increasing damage for melee weapons. They could also add different upgrades for each of the Engineer's buildings. The sky's the limit!
They might not even have to add different upgrades, just remix it to freshen it up for everybody.
