Paper cut-proof? That's a pretty bold statement.

Has anyone else encountered invisible players lately? I encountered two invisivle Snipers last night in a Casual match, and I've never witnessed such a thing in all my years of playing. And before anyone asks, no, this isn't the latency bug that can be fixed with a demo recording or any other such forms of refreshing.
Nope
I've been encountering it pretty frequently. Sometimes record demo doesn't even fix it anymore.

TF2PL/TF2Center are not the only third party competitive in existence. I don't know why all your comments regard it, but you're sweeping everything else under the rug.
Between major leagues like TFCL or UGC, and many regional ones like chapalaria and asiafortress, all regions are covered with regular recurring seasons. You have no excuse.
As people have told you, anecdotal experience means almost nothing in this type of discussion.
As for experience and investment, there are newbie mixes all the time you can join, as well as skill divisions and mentoring.
That's lightyears ahead of anything valve has provided. We're trying our best man, the community has done all of it already.
Valve just needs to implement it.
I started playing comp without knowing anything, I got taught by high level players how to correctly play comp.
There's no pressure if you're playing with chill people. If you meet toxic retards, It doesn't mean everyone are like that in comp.
People in Europe, atleast, are extremely friendly and helpful towards new competitive players.
Why is sound in TF2 a weird mishmash of .wav and .mp3? CSGO just uses .wav and they made their own format, .vsnd_c, for Source 2.
TF2PL and TF2Center are the only accessible ones at all times - things like serveme exist but they have extreme spikes in activity so you can only play in select times.
Either way as far as the rest goes; Leagues like UGC and TFCL are leagues - comparing scheduled matches with in-game competitive is fairly stupid given the fact that I don't want to
A: Gather a Team of 6 Friends which are ready at all times, organize the entire thing and set it up
B: Join a team, settle down on a role etc.
Tournaments and in-game competitive are two entirely different things, and that goes for all games, if Smash Bros. tournaments vs. For Glory mode or Overwatch.
Anecdotal experience is what sparked this entire discussion, so I'd doubt it.
I am not saying new-comer services and the like aren't available in the community competitive scene; It's about the service being available, convenient, and fast.
I played a fair share of TFPL as said before; Read before assuming I haven't "experienced" something before judging it, that's the entire reason why I tried it - to judge it.
With pressure I don't mean toxic people, it's about the general game-feel and impact mistakes have. Because Valve comp - even when it's fulled with skilled players(Yes, that happens) - is ever so slightly less extreme than TFPL or any other third party comp. It's the niche that fills the clusterfuck that casual is and the 300% sweat community comp offers - and that's good. This isn't criticizing community comp, because it is doing it's role.
When I'm feeling like playing TF2 with friends, I boot up Valve comp. When I'm feeling like I wanna get sweaty, I boot up TFPL. That has been the routine for me.
Last time I saw invisible characters it turned out custom models I had were the cause. What's worse though was it always registered that they were at their spawn full time on top of things when they killed me.
Getting rid of the custom models fixed the problem.
If you don't want to try and win the game, don't play comp at all please, you're just dragging people who are actually trying down then.
It's literally in the name.
COMPETITIVE
Anyone who thinks entry-level or even rank and file competitive (ugc steel-silver, ETF2L Open, etc.) are 300% sweat fests of brain busting action and teamwork... Clearly hasn't played them all that much...
It just happens randomly for seemingly no reason on PCs that run the game perfectly in pubs/lobbies. This happens to a good few of my friends and I've heard the issue happens to others too (usually when I complain on quickplay that my comp game is taking ages to start)
I don't really know what you expect me to say when you ask how does it crash, it just does. For one of my friends, tf2 competitive has had this strange effect where it no longer uses his graphics card in his laptop and starts using the integrated, which meant he had to force it in launch options. Maybe it's to do with that, I don't know. There's just loads of fuckery going on with it somehow. I just think the vast majority of players if they crash once or twice with it they're just not going to bother with it.

guys im trouble
What even is that certificate...
"United States Developer"
Careful lads, he developed the united states.
Plus who'd give out an old-ass certificate like that for something so modern that is Steam.
anyone know the best setting for cl_interp's and the other connection related configs? wanting to renew my old .cfg
Mastercom's config has net settings, and if you use the vpk you can change net settings on the fly for different situations.
An empty certificate with many spelling mistakes? And a ban-o-meter?
Did he show you a fake ID card with curly mustaches drawn on it too? I don't know in which bag to put this scammer.
Cow Mangler needs 10% smaller splash or reload time to get it unbanned, does the new Short Circuit have any chance of unbanning?
As far as I can tell, the global whitelist has yet to be updated for Blue Moon (seasons, etc). The only whitelist that seems to be updated past Blue Moon is TFCL's S4 whitelist.
Both Short Circuit and Cow Mangler are unbanned there.
Cow mangler basically has no downsides compared to stock in modes where engineer isn't going to be played.
Competitive should use more modes where Engineer is used often then. Though I do think it's pretty silly that Cow Mangler is basically stock + good stats - sentry-killing power
cowmangler's damage to buildings is so puny you might as well bind M2 to kill if you want to blast a sentry.
Yeah, Cow Mangler's downside are really situational in actual comp - if your Med is running kritzkrieg (which is rare in first place and even then you still have mini-crits, which are good enough I think, not nearly as good as crits but they still allow you to do some major damage) and if the team has an engi on last, but you can still disable it for 4 whole seconds, giving your team some window to destroy it or just enough time to cap the point without destroying sentry itself
Bringing back 5% slower reload or adding smaller explosion radius would make it have an actual downside, that's present at all times, otherwise it's fair to say that it is a direct upgrade
You don't appear to get the point and essentially ignore whatever I say do you?
I play both Valve competitive and TF2PL or whatever third party competitive there is to win - there is just a large difference in convenience, game-locks, and party sizes which makes the quality of the services fluctuate depending on the situation at hand. I said this like 6 times already.
I don't have any custom model or material mods I'm afraid, and this wasn't the sort of glitch that displayed an invisible player in their spawn room in the death cam. The game definitely registered the invisible players as operating on the map.
Sunbeams Flash of Inspiration is such a DragonBall Z hat.
much like any hat that uses the plasma effect.
